  1. They wouldn't say it, but that doesn't mean they didn't do it. But if you're say, Matt Rhule, you could always frame it as something like "stepping away from some of the detail oriented stuff in order to focus on a more personal approach with the players" like we've heard him talk about this offseason.
  2. I gotta believe he's gone. Only question is how and when.
  3. Wilks was a guy that a ton of people talked up as a future head coach. I'm not sure his first shot at the job was a legit one. (definitely not a fan of Steve Keim)
  4. Pretty good news for Tyler Ramsey. Still hoping we pull somebody from the Bills, no there's pretty good front office guys in Seattle as well.
  5. Outside of reducing Rhule's roster control and pushing for coaching changes, you mean? Coaches and officials being talked up shortly before being fired is a long-standing tradition in the NFL.
  6. But the talk about Rhule is definitely true because...why, exactly?
  7. Tepper fired Marty right at a year after that compliment was made. Saying that supports the idea that he'll keep Matt Rhule longer is...a stretch.
  8. Got an Assistant Director of Pro Personnel, but we parted ways with the Director. New guy coming soon perhaps?
  9. That same guy who said Marty Hurney was one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL?
  10. It was actually up to 26 as far as lawsuits (some may still be in process) with reports of more possibly on the way. There were also two women who filed criminal charges but not lawsuits and I think three others who told their stories without doing either. All that plus the New York Times story with reports of up to 66 different massage therapists and...yeah Settlement or not, I'd say the general public consensus (among non Browns fans at least) is that he's guilty.
  11. So are the ones about Sam Darnold. (also true this time last year)
  12. To be clear, the guy who tweeted isn't the guy who expressed the opinion. He was citing a guy on NFL Network.
  13. Roster looks to be improved, except possibly at quarterback. The OL could be significantly improved and has a new coach with a great rep. Coaching staff is likely overall better, though I'm still not a fan of Phil Snow.
  14. As to Lance... Acho referred to him as "One Play Trey". There's also thoughts from Peter king, who while he supports Lance says he's heard a "din" of negative comments and acknowledges that Lance's inexperience is concerning, mentioning that he only threw 318 passes in his entire college career. Lots of people have questions about Lance, many of them centering around the fact that even when garoppolo needed surgery, the Niners wouldn't start him.
  15. Betting on the wisdom of the Cleveland Browns is certainly a bold strategy.
  16. Plaintiffs attorney shouting from the rooftops while Watson's attorney "declined comment" doesn't exactly paint a picture of victory for Watson's side. Watson swore he'd fight till the end. Guess not.
  17. Can't say I find a lot of comfort in saying "Hey, at least we're not the worst ever!"
  18. I go into every season hoping for the best. That said, my name expectation is that we'll follow the pattern of looking decent early but falling off a cliff by midseason.
  19. You should know by now I don't give a damn about stats. I've watched both. Heck, Mayfield had a game against Lamar Jackson where he looked damn near elite. I can't say I've ever watched a Garoppolo game and come away thinking he looked great, or even good for that matter. I've definitely seen more than one where I thought he looked awful though.
  20. I don't either. But if I'm forced to choose, no question I'm taking Mayfield.
  21. No, but to be fair, he's losing it to Deshaun Watson. Garoppolo is losing his to a guy who's reported to still be struggling even with a few years under his belt. And while I'm not a Mayfield fan, objectively speaking he's got way more good film on record than Garoppolo.
