This is why I always hate arguments like "yeah we're losing but look where we ranked on offense / defense / special teams / whatever". People used to try and use similar arguments to try and say that, despite all the losing, Marty Hurney was actually a good GM.

Coaching hires and Senior Bowl Risers & Fallers (Video)

Again... -
Guess that means longtime assistant GM Kevin Abrams is out. Abrams isn't a scout. He's a cap guy. Might not be a bad option in the unlikely event we lost Suleiman.

Wish I could disagree, but... -
So basically, you actually buy in to the notion that the process is working but we can't see it. Wow
-
I'd look at him for head coach.
-
Daboll and Mike Kafka coaching the offensive side with Wink Martindale coaching the defense could make for a really interesting Giants team.

I feel like we have to explain this a lot... His job isn't to know more about football than fans. That'd be easy. Rhule's job is to be better at coaching football than guys like Sean Payton, Bruce Arians and Bill Belichick. What he showed last year is that he's not even as good a football coach as Joe Judge, Mike Zimmer, our old friend Ron Rivera and several other head coaches who wound up getting fired. So yeah, if bragging about being better than fans is all you've got, welp...

No, it's not. Very good OL class though. I'm trying to think of the last time I saw us take advantage of a situation like that. -
Screwing up everything I get my hands on...

The standard "pay raise / fancier sounding title / basically the same duties / frame it as a promotion" bit was done just a short time ago.
-
Probably won't happen, but it's possible.
-
Yeah, that's my mistake. Maybe one of the mods can fix that. I've been looking at Senior Bowl stuff all day so I guess it's on my brain

Worst Kept Secret at the Senior bowl (Panthers Interest in Pickett)

Fire Rhule? -
Everybody got your tinfoil hats on? But why is he there? (probably just to watch and enjoy a little pressure free football, but hey...)

Panthers Secondary Coach interviewing for the Broncos DC

Simmons has gotten DC interviews before. If I remember correctly, he was up for the Dallas DC job but went to Quinn. -

Yeah, that's kinda hard to imagine. One of the offensive or defensive lineman maybe, but not Pickett. -

There are some great looking Uglies this year. And I'm worried that just like so many other years, we're going to miss out on them -

I don't think Pickett is garbage, but I do fear he's that "guy who made a lot of money out of being good for a short time" kind of player, i.e. the kind of guy who never replicates his college success at the pro level. -

Which, while a cool fact, doesn't really mean anything. Bottom Line: There's not a single quarterback that I would want in the first round this year, not at number six for sure. But I won't be surprised if we pick one anyway. -

I see people talking about Willis like he's another Cam Newton. When I do, I always wonder if those people actually remember how good Cam Newton was. Willis is nowhere near that good. And he's certainly not the freakish athlete Newton was.- 193 replies
