IMO, Canales may end up representing the high water mark for Panthers head coaches under Tepper. I am not saying we might not be able to afford some hot names again, but it's not going to be the cream of the current/past/prospective coaching crop. It's gonna be last gasps, money grabs or lesser tier "hot" candidates trying to jump the line.

You got me brother. You got me. Not only did we decide, "Hey this guy that has never played center can handle it"(admittedly this worked out better than I thought) but we then also assumed that this oft injured man just didn't need a quality backup. I don't even know what to say. Half the Huddle was hollering for this guy but we passed for another fuging RB.

Jayden Daniels utilizing tech to his advantage

I read the whole exchange. It was you crawfishing after you realized you misread the entire intent of his post. No one at any point said anything about concussions or injuries to Tua. You went directly there after just the mention of his name. That's weird. -

How in the world did you manage to get that he was making fun of Tua from that post? How?? -
I mean, we are laughing at this but consider that we probably aren't that far away from a move like this being a reality. What are we, one or two more injuries? If that? Someone has to suit up.

You gotta quit reading between the lines on all this horseshit. You are gonna end up like the numerology guy. -
We have to assume based on the personality of the owner that there are a fugload of yes men in that building just shaking their heads up and down at every suggestion, without any idea other than protecting their own jobs. We are never gonna be successful that way. Never.

We are not a one season fixer upper and we should not approach fixing our situation as a "one year fix." That's literally how we ended up where we are with the worst roster in franchise history. We had successive years of "Oh we are building for the long ter.......fug IT!!!! WE NEED TO WIN NOW!!!" moves. Just focus on getting foundational elements for the future, be it through the draft(preferable) or through free agency(do not lean in on overpaying). The focus should be to add at least 2 multi-year starters every offseason. Not project players, no 34 year old journeymen, foundational elements of the franchise. Core players. Until we can actually start to pile those up, this is never gonna work at all. That allows the sort of luxury picks like taking a Brooks in the 2nd round and not worrying about the injury or PT. But bad teams with no core players cannot afford to "build" like that. Same with crazy reaches or trades(up or down) to get "your guy." That's not a successful strategy for a bad team, that's a luxury that a talent loaded team has.

VR is probably best suited to getting extra mental reps without piling up physical trauma. It's going to be fairly limited, however. At least right now. It might be easy to get some good reps reading defensive/offensive schemes but you aren't going to be able to work on physical aspects. Throwing a ball on VR is not going to be the same as IRL. Same with blocking a player or catching a ball or tackling, etc, etc. It's basically like playing online poker and live poker. You can get a fugload of reps, get quick with processing probabilities and maybe even become adept at pattern recognition but you won't be able to pick up physical tells or read people like you can at a real, live table. -

There is no reason to explain it. That guy lives in his own reality. -
What were your expectations for this season?
kungfoodude replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am a little flabbergasted about not running the ball on Chicago more. I am merely a layman but I can see when there is a weakness to a defense to be exploited. Methinks that was pretty arrogant of Canales to not have adapted better than that. That's the big thing I am going to keep an eye on. Of course, our running attack may go to poo as our OL is now comprised. -
Well I have been comparing us to the Browns for at least the last three years so....

I am hired as GM. Day one, I walked to the office next to mine: I proceed down the hall to the next office: I hit the next few offices on this floor of the building: Over the next few hours I make my way through the various positions in the building: Eventually, as I survey the empty offices and I sit and say to myself, "Well, time to get to work."

3-5 wins. I didn't think Bryce would get pulled this early or the OL to be this good. I also didn't expect the defense to be historically bad, just regular bad. I am not sure what to think overall yet about direction. -
BREAKING: Panthers signing big time pass rusher
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well we had to something, I suppose. -

We had our chance. We had our chance.

Well he is the 31st rated center out of 35 on another good OL in SD. The truth is he wasn't a very good center, hence why he was released by Baltimore.
-
Agreed. That team is built to win now. The melt down last year was inexcusable.
-
Stefanski just came off plenty of success so I think he will be safe. Watson is going to be the guy that catches all the heat there. Taylor I think will be fine, save a Panthers-esque sort of finish to the year. Pederson is probably on a much hotter seat. They were supposed to be ascending and finally have a fairly talented team on both sides of the ball but they are just miserable. I think he totes that blame if that continues the rest of the year.
-
We will see how it goes. I don't have super high hopes. If you are trying to develop a player and make him good, constantly creating turmoil usually leads to more struggles. The situation is actually finally stable so I really don't understand any thought of tinkering here. He's playing quite well, finally. This seems like Madden-esque tinkering without a real solid purpose.
-
Wow. This does smell of fugery. Methinks someone in the Rodgers camp got wind and ratted him out.
-
Bozeman was seen getting ragdolled far, far too often in pass protection. That isn't something we have seen with Corbett at all. Sure Ikey might be better at guard but if he is an above average LT(and he is playing like that) then why does that matter? Moton isn't an elite RT nor has he ever been. Is there any reason to move him?
-
Bozeman is an absolute turnstile. Corbett is an upgrade, without a question. However he is also dinged up a lot so you need a second option. Also, he's 29 so maybe getting a future guy(like maybe Zach Frazier in the 2nd round of the 2024 deaft) is a good idea. I guess I am just not seeing the issue with Ikey at the moment. He's solid in pass protection and dominant in the running game. What did you want? Trent Williams? That isnβt something you are likely to get unless you draft that guy. Joe Alt maybe? Okay, well then draft another LT with this future top 5 pick. Hunt to LT definitely does not seem like a great idea. He is a true guard, IMO. I don't think he is a guy that is going to excel at that.

Yeah Chuba was literally one of the only bright spots on the whole team last season, IDK where this "terrible" is coming from outside his first season or two. Hs is one of the extremely few guys we have EVER had actually develop.
