  1. Yeah, I am pretty skeptical about being able to keep him. But, not many other spots give him the opportunity to be a #1 WR, either.
  2. In Week 4. Don't expect those rankings to be the same in Week 18.
  3. He is on a ~$18.4 mil/year deal now. If we go in the 10-15 range, it's a pay cut, not a raise. Hence why it might be very hard to sign him. He is already making top 25 money at the position. At the time he signed his deal, it was more like top 15-20 money. Well staying in that range puts him around $20-24 mil. That is just too much money, IMO.
  4. Well you aren't gonna get special at $7 mil/year very often. Especially for a 29 year old.
  5. Yeah, you don't want to dump talent at basement prices and/or vastly overpay players. We have done too much of that and it has led to our current situation. Nor do you want to flub massive trades like the Young trade and the turned down Burns trade.
  6. https://overthecap.com/player/ashawn-robinson/4759 OTC Valuation at about $10 mil. Also his PFF rating has been high most of the year. It's just hard to stand out when everyone else around you is mostly bad.
  7. We would be foolish to not attempt it unless he perhaps made it clear he has no interest in re-signing here at all. It's a price thing, IMO. We can overpay a bunch of guys on the team because we already have cap issues.
  8. He is literally not young. He will be 29 next season. He is likely to be closer to the end of his career than the beginning. I don't see him playing until he is 34+ years old. Consider that WR is the second lowest average career length position in the NFL.
  9. This is about the most hypocritical statement you have ever made. Also, you would be a terrible GM. That isn't an insult, it's a factual statement quite literally based on the takes you have made in this message board. Very few of your ridiculous, cartoonish personnel opinions have ever panned out. As many have said, it would be insane(also very Panthers, so there is that) to sign a 29 year old WR to a long term 18-22/mil a year deal. That's bananas. Now if he wants something in the 12-15 range at maybe 3 years, by all means, get the deal done.
  10. I agree. That said, if it isn't more than a 4th, I don't know that I see the value. Just continuing to be a functional offensive unit is going to be worth more than any 4th round or lower pick in terms of team morale. Also, no reason to move him until close to the Week 10 deadline, either. Teams aren't going to be magically less needy.
  11. Yes, because obviously we just sit on our laurels and do nothing. You would be such an insanely terrible GM.
  12. Oh I am not saying we shouldn't stop attempting but we should absolutely stop the utter nonsense that led us to getting Bryce Young. There is no reason to trade up like that to get any QB. IDGAF who it is. Play the board. Be smart. Don't reach for a QB out of desperation
  13. I also DGAF about a rookie QB if you can find a guy like Smith or Mayfield.
  14. Robinson has actually been fairly solid.
  15. I never understood that. I saw him as another Derek Anderson. Reliable, veteran backup QB.
  16. In fairness, he has done this with veteran QB's who needed some tweaking. Also with talented guys. We haven't seen him have success with a rookie before.
  17. I think after team #2 it will be very clear it is over. As you said, just like Rosen. He isn't one of these guys like Fields/Darnold that has elite attributes(minus between the ears). He failed at both the intangibles and tangibles. There is zero upside.
  18. TBH, it's hard to really even see where the basis of being an NFL QB was. IMO, he will be out of the league in 3-4 seasons.
  19. I don't really see him the same way nor do I see his perceived ego issues as being as detrimental as most. Plenty of these guys are nutters, it only matters when you can't play. That part is TBD.
  20. I can't throw the towel in on Williams just because he is only 4 games into his career. I do think he would be better served being behind a vet for at least a season like Maye is. It's just a devil you know versus devil you don't argument with Fields and Williams.
  21. I would honestly rather keep Tepper than inherit Taylor Swift. I have 1% hope Tepper improves, I have 0% hope I can stand seeing Taylor Swift on another fuging football game.
