Possibly so but that doesn't really change what I said.

Panthers sign former Rams MLB Christian Rozeboom

Even if you were sold on him(I ain't either) we still need a contingency plan. Lol -

I would say that could be debatable with Jewell. Jewell is actually not that bad. At the bare minimum we have another competent LB. -

I do agree that their evaluation of WR's is the worst in the NFL but it's also a tough position to be able to pay premium(or in our case likely premium+) prices to afford. -
Curious to see the financials. I think on the surface this is a good pickup.

Anyone Seen the ESPN Projection Guide? *Spoiler* Panthers Suck

Do a great job in the draft and we might get a win or two extra and I mean a GREAT job. Mostly it would just fit with the plan to get younger and get more competitive. Start finally building depth outside the OL and extend that to the rest of the roster. Start finally getting some average or above NFL starters. If we can move those goals appreciably forward, then it is a overall net positive. People are just setting themselves up for massive disappointment with the thoughts of winning records, playoff berths, etc. This is a straight up from the foundation building effort, it's just going to take time, effort, patience and above all, competence. So, strap in, it's gonna be a wild ride. Side note: I still am pursuing a sports book that will let me make a 4-5 figure wager with acceptable odds that the Panthers will not have a winning record before the 2030 NFL season. So that's how I actually think this is all gonna go down. -
Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)

Al Davis special. Not only is it perplexing that he only had 4.5 career sacks, he was an elite talent on teams stocked with elite talent. How much more of a stacked deck do you really need to perform well? -

I would argue it's significantly below average. -
That seems to run counter to the youth movement overall. But, we have taken swings at bigger targets(possibly still doing so) so perhaps we kick the tires as a consolation? I generally think the issue will likely be that we will have to pay significantly above market for him to have interest. Which, TBD what that actual market value is.

I would say 5.5-6.5 is probably a more reasonable expectation for range. We genuinely didn't improve much on paper. We IMPROVED, which sadly is not always a given during our recent offseasons. -
It's easily a bottom 5 WR group.

I suspect he will be chasing a winning team.

Don't sleep on the fact we are pursuing/did pursue DK and Higgins. I think McMillian may very much be on the table at 8. -

This was kind of why this was a big head scratcher. He is a pass rush specialist, not a 3 down player. He is historically quite bad against the run. You know, the thing that we really didn't do well with last year? If that's the plan.....oh wee mayne. -

If he isn't a rotational guy.....I think he ends up being. We will see. -

I think the biggest glaring weakness is still the overall defense. About 5-6 of the "starting" players would be rotational players on the majority of NFL teams. After that, obviously the pass catching group is one of the worst in the NFL. Albeit a chunk of that is due to very unproven, young players. Still 2-3 offseasons away from potentially being a good roster but at least we might have made some overall progress towards that goal. -

I am not sure about that. Wharton is really bad against the run. -

Apparently, Rod didn’t mean it as a slight. He said he appreciated him being honest.
