Extremely unlikely. The chaos that is causing our decline goes far beyond the QB position. If we replaced Bryce next week it wouldn't get dramatically enough better to truly matter. This is a bad team loaded with bad players. It's a shaky, unproven coaching staff and a bad FO. Topped by the worst owner in sports.

There are a lot of NFL employed QB "anyones" that wouldn't be better than Bryce. The issue is that there aren't a ton of them that would be demonstrably worse.

He has been relatively slow, minus the Reich era, TBH. Hurney stayed around longer than expected, Rhule stayed around longer than expected and Fitterer really stayed around longer than expected too. All of those guys were very clearly not suited for the job at least a year before they were canned. -
He doesn't strike me as a guy that quickly changes his POV on his "gut feelings."

We have been rebuilding for 5+ years now. It's not "rebuilding." We are down below the foundation. This is building. -
TBH, I think the organization has telegraphed all offseason that they didn't think they would be good this season.

Look how quickly they recovered from the draft capital they gave up too. Build a good team and the QB will eventually happen. Hell, build a good enough team and you can attract one in free agency.

Dalton offers the potential to just win games. Unless you are fully committed to tanking, starting to build a winning culture is actually important. Consider that on our fairly young roster that we don't have a lot of guys that have experienced much in the way of winning culture in the NFL. That can quickly permeate an organization and make that hill much steeper to climb.

Fields got less interest than even Sam Darnold when he was going to be traded from Chicago. I think the league largely views him as a 2nd or 3rd string QB and not some potential starter. Darnold I just can't explain. I am not sure I have ever seen such an underwhelming QB get so many chances.

Bryce really has done nothing wrong. He just isn't a guy. Same as Ian Thomas. I never have hated Ian specifically. I hate the successive FO's and coaching staffs that caused him to be a long term and vastly overpaid veteran. All Ian ever did is his job. It's not his fault he just isn't that good at it.

Not seeing a path to success in those moves, TBH. I don't think it would have been a very fun team to watch either. It wasn't much fun to watch CMC and Moore rack up stats while losing 10+ games a year. It was false hope. The root of all of this is the ownership. A capable and knowledgeable owner wouldn't have constant FO and coaching turnover that leads to what he saw.

Even if we didn't have turf, players rarely are falling over themselves for a spot on a cellar team unless they are chasing a paycheck.

But Bama lined up every week being way better than most of the opponents they faced. That didn't happen here.

I remember watching that and thinking it was all built on smoke and mirrors. It seemed obvious at the time. Felt the same way with the Darnold 3-0 start.

Middle of the road team. 7-9 wins at best. Remember that is an alternate universe in which Scott Fitterer isn't an idiot and David Tepper doesn't meddle. Not sure that is a realistic fantasy.

There is no healing the arm and he hasn't played in the NFL for quite some time now. There is no reason to revisit this chapter. I highly doubt Cam has any interest in this shitshow, for that matter.

Insane pressure hasn't seemed to impact Tepper much. I think it will solely depend on whatever his whims are.

I still think it won't be until 2025 that he gets the hook. Tepper is surprisingly slow to correct obvious errors in personnel, despite the Reich firing.

They could trade him but cutting will not be an option because the cap hit would be unnecessary.

He will be. It doesn't make financial sense to cut him.

Herbert over/under 300 yards? Under I expect almost 200 rushing yards, so I suspect the passing yardage will drop. Bryce Young over/under 2 turnovers? Under Bryce Young over/under 200 passing yards? Under Score Predictions? Chargers 27 Panthers 10 Watching: Most likely.
