  1. I am assuming the Panthers have left the field for that.
  2. Sounds like the OL is not performing well as a unit.
  3. I was assuming this was going to be a highlight reel of them yelling racial slurs at us.
  4. Well one of his red flags was injuries coming into the league. Too early to say how it will turn out but having some other guys step up(Higgins/Smith) makes Marshall's lack of impact less serious.
  5. You assume that we would be willing to eat that same large portion of his salary. Notice how little speculation there is around a Sam Darnold trade. I would imagine that is because there are literally no suitors. If Jimmy G and Baker Mayfield had a combined total of one team with serious interest, there is basically zero likelihood of moving Darnold without begging and offering draft capital. There is little reason to do that and I don't think Rhule is interested in trading Sam.
  6. They might not descend to where the rest of the division appears to be, unfortunately.
  7. We seem to have some sort of fetish for being different than everyone. Listen, the NFL is a copycat league and being innovative can give you a big edge. This poo isn't innovative, however. We tried that poo with Joe Brady and it failed. I don't see anything these fuging guys are doing that seems "innovative." They just need to be different than anyone else in the NFL for some reason and the results are in. fuging STOP.
  8. Bozeman and Corbett are also coming from very strong units. It's possible they aren't as individually as strong as they were with those units. I tend to think they are better than average players but I will have to see it here first. They wouldn't be the first underwhelming OL signings we have made in the past decade. Moton is the rock. Hopefully Icky becomes the hard place. Just gotta figure out what happens between them. If we just get 1-2 successes from all that shuffling, it's still progress. Low bar but I just need a win. We had absolutely nothing to show for an entire offseason on the OL in 2021. Can't have a repeat of this.
  9. I disagree on determining slots for the players. Any league person could say with confidence that Mayfield was going to "win" this job. So at that point the remaining battle is 2nd through 4th. That is basically it. The whole thing was fuging annoying and it's completely counterproductive for the team as a whole. It's not any different than the stupid BS with the OL. There are quite literally limited reps to get these new players to gel. Wasting them on stupid "competitions" that aren't real is fuging absurd.
  10. I can't sign off on the "as decent a lineup as we have seen in a while." That may be the case or it may still be bad. I want Bozeman and Corbett to be good signings but I need to see the play. I want Ekwonu to be an elite LT but I need to see the progression. I want BC, Mays, etc to be good backups or even potential starters but I need to see it. OL is a unit they just have to make be believe first. I can't give them the benefit of the doubt as many years as we have made mistakes there.
  11. There is really no reason to panic over the staff. They are who we thought they were after 2 years in the NFL. That's a problem that will eventually fix itself. We are just going to have to suffer through some more bad football to get there.
  12. Yeah, it's a lot of fans high on copium for the ignorant BS we are seeing. There are two QB's on our roster that MIGHT have a future with us past next season. They are Baker Mayfield and Matt Corral. We KNOW Darnold is gone. Any thought of resigning him is pure insanity. PJ Walker is always on a year to year contract based on what we have available as an upgrade as #3 QB. Given this situation, there is simply zero reason to not have increased Mayfield and/or Corral's reps. At the point where PJ Walker is trotting in a regular season game, things are already off the rails enough that we know our coach is finished.
  13. Yeah, none of us know the truth or even very much of the full picture. I am gleaning my opinion based on what Rhule shows the public, which doesn't have a solid track record of being accurate either. Either way, I hope by some miracle he suddenly becomes not a shitty coach and we can get back to not being a laughingstock franchise. Sadly, I don't have a LOT of hope about that.
  14. I don't think we really intend to move him unless it is a good deal for us. I don't think that good deal is actually available.
  15. Yeah, if you had established value for a player, they would literally already have been traded. PJ has absolutely zero NFL value. He is a dime a dozen amongst 3rd QB's. Darnold has some limited value as a low tier 2nd QB but at his contract value his tradeability is extremely minimal. This idea that we are doing this for trade value is fuging ridiculous. If that is actually the case, there shouldn't be a single fan that isn't incensed.
  16. Greg Little didn't have a $18.8 mil guaranteed contract. There is a reason Little was easy to move, his contract was peanuts.
  17. I don't think a lot of this is very collaborative at all. I think Rhule largely dictates the personnel but the game planning is handled by his coordinators. We obviously don't know the full picture but he seems to like to micromanage elements of practice with his stupid college BS. Then you have the season where he seemed to like to throw the previous OC under the bus about playcalling, something he literally could have taken over at any point.
  18. The goal of TC and preseason isn't to showcase bottom end players for trade bait, it's to get your own team prepared. If Darnold or PJ's reps are being tied to making them more attractive trade options and not purely evaluation for us, then we need to fire Rhule ASAP. That's about as derelict in one's duties as you can get for a coach on the hot seat. Also, they need to figure out who is sticking around because giving reps to a QB that is going to get cut or put on the practice squad(this goes for Darnold, PJ or Corral) is a complete and utter waste of time. These shouldn't be fantastically difficult decisions to make for someone who supposedly is an NFL coach.
  19. Yeah, this is why I was pretty skeptical of the people that were pushing the "nearly elite" OL narrative. It's pretty rare that you go from a bottom 5 unit to an "elite" unit in one offseason. At the bare minimum, our depth looks to be very poor quality. If we can get 1-2 of the additions to pan out, it's a step in the right direction, at least. It is going to take continued investment in that unit to turn that into a strength.
  20. Well this was supposed to be the story from previous joint practices too and it hasn't netted much.
