Panthers agree to terms with Broncos DL DeShawn Williams
Rags replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Looks like a rotational guy, or at least a guy to help us ease into 3-4. 30 years old. Probably a cheap contract. Better to have him and not need him and need him and not have him I suppose. -
tbh that's likely what the contract is. Two years with ways out on the third or 4th year.
-
Expected as much, still will like to know the numbers and how long we're actually handcuffed for.
-
Backed up Barkley but imo followed him up superbly. Better Sony Michel imo. Great vision to follow his blocks and did everything well enough. Solid piece to have in the backfield w/ some upside.
-
1,300 rush and 500 rec? lil anxious abt the numbers of the contract but man that's a talent in the backfield.
-
Liked him a lot coming out of college, haven't followed his career. Happy to see him in black n blue.

expectations like this are why lol

Anthony Ricardson Board Work with Steve Mariucci
Rags replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
That and he's kind of a shoulder thrower like Cam. If we didn't never hadCam I'd probably like Richardson a lot less tbh. But honestly? I think he already understand progressions better than Cam did coming out, tape backs that up like you said. Which really leaves his footwork. I believe you can teach footwork. And he has the ability to drop dimes even with his issues. Ball placement can be a lot better but, again, like Cam there's now window he doesn't think he can't throw into. -
Anthony Ricardson Board Work with Steve Mariucci
Rags replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends on the integrity of who's producing it honestly. I'd be willing to a bet a QB who fails one of these would gather more views than someone who succeeds, but showing it does nothing but satiate the fans because scouts/gms already know what they need to know. -

Yeah if this is what coaches talked to at the combine, absolutely see why he's shooting up boards. -

"That's what this staff is for." I like Richardson enough that if the staff likes him enough to take him #1 overall, I won't be chafed. Means they have a plan. However if it comes out that it was an owners pick or something, wellllllllllll... -
I know this is directed at those posters who rly undervalued D.J. but tbf I think a healthy Sutton and healthy D.J. are the same tier of WR1 Some sundays they'll disappear but you're glad hey're on your roster for like 12-13 of those sundays.
-
I expect this. Connection is obvious but his playstyle fills a need.
-
He's the only reason I'm not screaming from the mountains for Rashee Rice. That said it still would help to have more than him and Shi Smith.
-
That hasn't stopped dumb GMs in the past tho. All it takes is one Gringson.
-
not directly Panthers related, but the fact that GMs are willing to play chicken w/ the WRs available is only a good thing.
-
Oh I'm absolutely for trading for one of the WRs rumored on the market -- Jeudy, Sutton or Hopkins would make me content at #1 for at least the next two years. I just think it'll take more picks.
-
Bengals don't trade often, and we're not getting Chase or Higgins, but with them losing both of their safties wonder if we can work something out for Boyd by dangling Chinn.
-
I agree with that, but that makes him even harder to sell off. SS even less coveted than ILB.
-
Thing is teams that have WRs worth trading for like Denver and AZ are looking for Capital/have their ILB & S pretty wrapped up. You have to find someone willing to take a one year contract for a player with no real position. That's a really hard sell.
-
Honestly rather try him as a 2nd ILB rather than shop him. His best work is moving towards the ball and I think he and Shaq play off of each other nicely. But if someone's willing to give back some nice comp then yeah sniff around.
-
Chinn's either our 2nd ilb, our nickel or traded. Really like this signing. Should pair with Woods nicely.

It is very ignorant yes! Literally just the Georgia game can confirm Stroud has more than functional mobility for a pocket passer. And he knew when to scramble -- When Georgia kept selling out in man, tuning his back to him -- which makes it even more impressive. Through out his film you can see him breaking the pocket to extend the play, with mixed results yes, but he's not a statue and he can scramble. The reason he didn't run? Dunno. It's the combine. Why didn't Young throw? I would've loved to see his deep ball.

That team also traded up for Goff to get him. And the team that had Stafford didn't even win a playoff game with him. That team that traded Goff also has one of the best offensive minds in NFL history as their head coach. Goff was also a better QB than Stafford last year -- who may never be the same. So, taking some of the many nuances of the Goff situation into account -- why the hell wouldn't we draft a Goff when we've had QBs like P.J. Walker, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield before him? Keep in mind Stroud's arm is more quality than Goff's, so this comparison is only abt his ability as a pocket passer and to dissect zone defenses.
