  1. Lots of work went into this. Thanks. Not sure about the WR double dip and something tells me Gman is up to something and DE will be the way we go in 1st or 2nd.
  2. If I'm an Eagles fan I'm nervous but I respect the fact that Kelly is making these changes. If he doesn't buy into the players and system he has how can he ask anyone else to do so? Make the changes, give him time and see if he produces. I'm not betting against him. Well, maybe this year I am.
  3. Too many games and puzzles in Survivor. So much easier to just not read or respond to the threads which annoy. The fact that the most annoying threads are usually from the same handful of posters makes it so much easier. In other words, I change the channel.
  4. I don't buy excuses for not losing, just like I don't buy excuses for not winning. Arizona had plenty of other weapons to rally around and got beat by the better team. The Panthers belonged in the playoff's both in 2013 and last year, that makes them a "playoff caliber" team. Not sure why anyone can allow the media or other fans to postulate differently.
  5. I disagree. The team belonged there last year. They won convincingly against the cards and gave a decent battle on the road in Seattle. They have these articles every year. Not surprised. But this year's team is going to dash that scorecard.
  6. From the article, "But while the Panthers could benefit from a more competitive situation at safety, landing Collins might not be possible without at least a small trade-up in the draft. Collins is widely regarded as the draft's top safety prospect by NFL Media analysts, who all expect Collins to be gone before the Panthers' choice at No. 25 across six mock drafts."
  7. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12523532/alan-ball-carolina-panthers-negotiations The same source said on Friday that "a lot" was worked out in terms of negotiations before Ball left town, but not to the point the 29-year-old player was ready to sign. At least one other team has entered the picture regarding interest in Ball.
  8. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12523532/alan-ball-carolina-panthers-negotiations CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Former Jacksonville Jaguars safety Alan Ball still hasn't signed with theCarolina Panthers and isn't expected to on Friday, but negotiations continue. Ball was in Charlotte on Thursday night meeting with team officials. A league source told ESPN.com on Thursday an agreement on a one-year deal with Carolina had been reached prior to his arrival. The same source said on Friday that "a lot" was worked out in terms of negotiations before Ball left town, but not to the point the 29-year-old player was ready to sign. At least one other team has entered the picture regarding interest in Ball. On Thursday a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan that the Panthers and Ball reached agreement on a $2 million deal, including a $1 million signing bonus and up to $500,000 in playing-time incentives. The deal was reported earlier Thursday by Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. The Panthers have sought to upgrade their secondary in free agency, signing cornerback Teddy Williams and safety Kurt Coleman. Williams was signed primarily as a special-teams player.
  9. yah, don't think so. just means we didn't pay too much for dollar tree talent
  10. Wonder who screwed up this one. Usually numbers aren't released until the signature goes on the dotted line. If his agent took those numbers to another team I can see G'man not going for any leveraged better terms and telling them "they might be better off in ___".
  11. crud, you guys are right of course. changed topic title (again1)
  12. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12513979/alan-ball-carolina-panthers-agree-terms-contract CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers have reached a one-year deal with formerJacksonville Jaguars cornerback Alan Ball, a league source told ESPN.com.
  13. well, apologies to Person for earlier snarky comment. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article15351506.html Free agent corner Alan Ball is scheduled to visit the Panthers on Thursday afternoon, according to a league source. There were media reports Thursday that Ball had already signed with Carolina, but there is not an agreement yet, according to two league sources. If things go well, Ball could be a Panther by the end of Thursday. Ball, 29, started all 22 games he's played for Jacksonville over the past two seasons, and has 44 starts in 93 games over his eight-year career. Ball, 6-2 and 197 pounds, started seven games for the Jaguars last season before sustaining a season-ending biceps injury. 14. Is it really that hard to believe that Nicks has a HS buddy he still keeps in touch with? And that this HS buddy is a Panther fan in the Charlotte area? With the interwebs and some free time? If anything, the spin Nicks put on the story to his buddy clarifies why G'man encouraged him to pursue other teams. He took an offer 33% below the Panthers because he didn't want to be the "main man"? Left $1.5 million on the table? If it's true, or if it's not; go play somewhere else.
  15. I heard them talking for 14 hours straight on Willis/Revis/Graham & Johnson. Not sure why you hold those guys on a pedestal over Greg, who is the acknowledged best past rusher available in free agency. If that doesn't make him "bonafide" I don't know what the hell does. The very fact that nothing is happening on the Hardy front, on any stage and from any angle is a story in and of itself. They talked about DeMarco Murray all day and nothing is happening on his front.
  16. "The Maturation of the Huddle" I think watching the Dolphins throw $114 Million at one player, watching the eagles ... just... well. Combined with watching Revis manipulate a team into paying way too much again and seeing the moves the aints literally had to make..... just made Gettlemagic look sexy.
  17. I think you just proved my point. LOL. Greg Hardy is the premiere edge rusher available in free agency, 2-4 game suspension notwithstanding. He is an "actual superstar and elite player" and that fact is born out by his play on the field and our franchise tag last year.
  18. I think the amazing thing is how little Hardy's name has come up today in the coverage I have seen. For the best edge rusher on the market to get so little attention by teams and media is .... insulting? hopeful? ...... not sure what to feels.
  19. only thing keeping this thread open is legit link to "questionable" tweet. No team can take on that contract in a trade. If saints are looking to fix cap they have to release brees and eat tens of millions
