  1. i mean i get your point and all OP but google brett von drehle some time
  2. supposedly dallas made a hard run at him last night and they're the clear front runners
  3. it's easy to sit there and slap the packers and seahawks on the back and talk about what well oiled machines those orgs are now. that's because you're looking at the final product and aren't paying any attention to the legwork that it took to get there. that's because you aren't a fan of those franchises and you didn't have to sit through, say, the four straight losing seasons seattle had prior to 2012. or the two straight non-winning seasons at the beginning of ted thompson's tenure. or the relatively long stretch of mediocrity in baltimore when ozzie newsome was moved up to GM and the ravens didn't win a playoff game for six years and had three losing seasons in that stretch.
  4. well i mean he doesn't have a job right now fiz posted something last year taking polian's drafts apart and making a pretty convincing case that he's actually a hack. it was a pretty interesting read.
  5. i wasn't sold on jaelen strong until i saw his carlton banks mustache
  6. forgot all about that possibility what would have to happen to make us eligible for a comp pick in this scenario? i know he has to be a pre-june 1st signing
  7. also can we ever cut a player or let him walk and not have to play him the very next year ffs
  8. no suspension, letter of apology from goodell, one of those chocolate dipped fruit baskets you see advertised on TV coming to greg hardy's front door soon
  9. think marc james is going to be making any bets this year?
  10. if that happened i think the jig would be up and that would be all the proof we needed that gettleman is an evil genius
  11. i mean lmao david foucault graded out higher than both hurst and henderson in his starts
  12. seantrel henderson graded one spot higher than byron bell last year on PFF. he was the third worst tackle in the entire league. james hurst was the sixth worst. our own blindside graded out higher than both of them. i mean things like this are easy to say when you watch them on some other team getting their quarterbacks killed. the rhetoric out of this fanbase probably would be the same right now. it's amusing to me how lining up nate chandler at RT and byron bell's ass up at LT was such a travesty but the proposed solution to that problem was either a 7th round rookie (which is what henderson actually was, not an UDFA) and a rookie UDFA in hurst whom nobody would recognize or care about if he wasn't a tar heel. making either of those two day one starters is every bit the "gamble" with cam's health that chandler or bell would have been even if they both turned in to all pros.
  13. if philly brown continues to develop along with kelvin benjamin and we pluck a jaelen strong out of this receiver class in addition to a talented prospect to sit and learn for a year behind oher and olsen locked up we could have a pretty formidable offense going in to 2016.
  14. the first part is only significant to you because you apparently didn't realize that there was a reason for that yes if cam was drafted in 2010 under the old CBA as the first overall pick he probably would have gotten record breaking money and it would be a non issue. in other news if the queen had a dick she'd be the king.
  15. who the hell was drafted at quarterback in 2010 and is getting a big contract extension from the original teams right now anyway? look at this cavalcade of stars:. -Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma 1 1(1) St. Louis -The Golden Calf of Bristol QB Florida 1 25(25) Denver -Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame 2 16(48) Carolina -Colt McCoy QB Texas 3 21(85) Cleveland -Michael Kafka QB Northwestern 4 24(122) Philadelphia -John Skelton QB Fordham 5 24(155) Arizona -Jonathan Crompton QB Tennessee 5 37(168) San Diego -Rusty Smith QB Florida Atlantic 6 7(176) Tennessee -Dan LeFevour QB Central Michigan 6 12(181) Chicago -Joe Webb QB UAB 6 30(199) Minnesota -Tony Pike QB CINCINNATI 6 35(204) Carolina -Levi Brown QB Troy 7 2(209) Buffalo -Sean Canfield QB Oregon State 7 32(239) New Orleans -Zac Robinson QB Oklahoma State 7 43(250) New England
  16. depending on what happens with wilson and the rumors of a fully guaranteed contract i'd be comfortable with cam getting 5 years/$75 million fully guaranteed or something like that. at least his cap figure will be exactly the same every year that way.
  17. i guess that's a reference to kaepernick and dalton. think hard about the new CBA and then consider which rounds they were drafted in. also quarterbacks drafted in 2010 (drafted a year before cam since you mentioned it) were selected under a different CBA with different rules and aren't subject to the option system as first round QBs and others are now
  18. ted thompson started off his packers career with two straight non-winning seasons ozzie newsome, widely considered among the elite GMs in the league, took over a ravens team in 2002 that had won a super bowl two years earlier. three of the next five seasons would be losing ones contrasted with two playoff trips, both one and dones. even if gettleman does suck and is an incompetent idiot he's going to be here for several years
  19. can we just retire this argument to the straw man hall of fame already
  20. oakland has $44 million in cap room according to overthecap i've got a good feeling about this
  21. come on oakland you know you want to give him 5 years/$60 million with $20 million guaranteed
