Our coaching staff addressed it weeks ago. Frank said Mingo was just way too good to take off the field for anyone else lol.

All his balls take forever to get to where he wants them. I just don’t see how is arm is going to be able to get to where it needs be at this level

I mean it worked out. So that’s that. I would have gone for it on the 1. Weather trumping the analytics. Feel more comfortable getting a yard than a FG in the rain.

Luke was weird. He turned into the rage monster when he stepped on the field Sunday. Rarely see such an extreme Jeckyll and Hyde like that. He wasn’t leading by example on Sundays but totally see it that way the other 6 days.

Most playoff appearances: Ron Most division titles: Ron Best win % : Ron I mean if we concede it’s a tight race of Ron and Fox….I just don’t see how anyone tips it to Fox given it all skews to Ron

Fox didn’t have less and he didn’t do more. IMO. Fox had better rosters. Especially if you look in the trenches. most success in our history was under Ron Rivera and it was the funniest window.

Steve Smith and Julius Peppers for Fox. John Fox also had the best overall rosters IMO of any coach here.

convo is just the best Panther coach. And a solid coach is the best we have ever had. I give Ron the slight edge simply because he allowed a culture to be created here around Cam and for Cam to whatever he wanted …..and most NFL teams wouldn’t have allowed that to happen. Ron never gets credit for that and should. It’s not what most coaches are comfortable with allowing and greenlighting. Which brought us the best window in franchise history.

That speaks to how much better NO, Tampa, and the Saints were in 2010. Division was good and everyone finished with double digit wins. I don’t think you can measure it in point differential. 2010 had a tougher schedule and NFL. if you just cherry picked that 2010 team out, the roster was just miles better around than this one. Specifically the cast on O once you ignore QBs. 2010 was a better team…..they played in a tough division. The 2023 team plays in a poo division. 2010 is winning games if they played this current schedule.

Stadium should be a ghost town. Who would want to sit in a game with a downpour all 4 quarters with cold and wind…..to watch Carolina.

Horrific weather throws a lot of stuff out the window. Also increases the fluke window odd turnovers and just bad football. Weather potentially could cause Atlanta to hand us a win.

2010’s roster was SIGNIFICANTLY better once you ignore QBs. Not even close. Clausen was a huge handicap. But given that 2010 backfield and OL…..vs this team that can’t play the run? I think 2010 easily wins. 2023 is the worst team because it’s easily the worst roster.

Frank made Thomas call what he wanted when Tepper made him let Thomas call it. And that was section of the playbook Brown had no choice to copy and paste. It was Frank’s basics/core. we still got posters that are living and dying on stuff the Panther org says as truth…..when it’s just spin for the narrative they wanted at the time. We already know they said a bunch of untruths. They tried to build up Thomas Brown’s role with some spin ….because he was actually employed here to be the assistant to the OC (Frank). Almost an apprentice role. Like just being able to call games late in preseason when the future car salesman were playing. Thomas Brown didn’t write our playbook if the core was Frank’s and it made up the majority of the book. I doubt Frank even wanted a lot of his staff. It was all Tepper mismatched forced pairings. Which continued over to players.

It would be Seifert 2.0. it’s why you study history kids. Its 2023. We need to hire a new young age coach for the new NFL. They don’t have to be 20. It doesn’t need to be a 70+ year old defensive coach that was great elsewhere and done all he is ever going to do in the NFL already. would he improve us? Sure. So would bringing John Fox out of retirement or rehiring Rivera. Bar is on the literal floor.

Those are already paid for. Putting them on stub hub for cheap doesn’t really matter. If someone buys it for a penny it was already paid for. And now you got a body in the seat to buy beer or whatever. You hit him with next seasons tickets. Which is why Tepper traded for #1 overall, dictated it would be the Bryce show, pimped the greatest staff narrative, etc this season. It forced people to buy in this year. When we shouldn’t have. Tepper had already proven he is an anchor and so are his moves. He should have to earn ticket buyers back with results…..not getting them with ease through preseason hype and declarations.

I mean, Cam Newton does have more qualifications than the Teppers. In terms of a broad level of what a NFL football needs to be inside the walls. Which Carolina has lacked for some time. I don’t think he needs to be team president. He also reframed it as an advisor. And yeah, this team needs real football people. It’s been lacking. We got no culture, no accountability, etc inside and that is Cam’s thing.

Also got to acknowledge Frank conceded he gave Andy plays that he wasn’t giving Bryce. Andy asked him and Frank gave them. So it at least shows Andy knows doing what they had been doing with Bryce….wasn’t going to cut it.

Mingo has ran a ton of horrific routes. I still go back to those public comments about how Mingo was just too good to take off the field. That’s when our punt returner pretty publicly seem to call that out. Wonder if there was just some top down order on how Bryce and Mingo had to be played/repped. Because what the coaches were saying…..wasn’t jiving with what was happening on the field with Mingo. I mean Mingo is a raw-ish rookie. Hard to have him on the field so much with a rookie QB IMO as the plan. It’s hard enough with a rookie QB. Mingo IMO has been too heavily featured given where he is as a WR. You can’t just be confident in a slow Adam Thielen. And teams are really now starting to take Adam away.

If Frank demands you copy and paste a % that makes up the core and bulk of a playbook…..then that’s not writing a playbook on your own. Then on top of that, we don’t have players that can do what the plays needed. they are now trying to do the Steve Wilks makeover to finish respectable.

both also found themselves in poo spots with poo HCs though. Brand new OCs are going to need help. And time. Brady nor Brown got opportunities in good spots to see success. And much like rookie QBs, they have to learn on the job. You don’t know what really work until you go through some trial and error. And they landed in Carolina, a place that can’t really afford to allow a green OC take their own lumps. Fanbase definitely ain’t got time for on the job learning. Brady showed his potential right away. Really good between the 20s for a first timer. Think it might of gone different if paired with a legit NFL HC that could have helped prioritize the ways of the NFL. Hard to imagine things being the same if he was paired with a legit NFL HC. Pretty sure McD is going to have both his units working a lot of red zone lol. That’s not up to a young coordinator. Brown never called a play before coming here. I still do not believe he was ever intended to legitimately call plays this year. Frank let him call 2nd half of preseason games. That’s insurance salesman on the field. That’s not prepping someone to call plays this season. Maybe Frank would make it a slow joint effort in the end if things went well. Fully believe Frank was forced to give him the clipboard and then got it back with it became clear Frank’s job was on the line in season.

I didn’t say we could. but organizations that employee good people have proven the NFL rebuild can happen in 2 seasons. We have several things handicapping us from that possibility.

It doesn’t take long to rebuild in the NFL if you are good and lucky…. you can be the worst team in the NFL and in the postseason 2 years. BUT it’s largely still QB centric. We are in a QB pickle so to speak. We got no first and dumped a bunch into Bryce. So, he gets another year. Which at this point looks pretty pointless.

The skill talent they added this offseason wasn’t catering toward Bryce. It’s one of the many examples of no vision in Carolina. Everything was random parts thrown together.
