  1. I mean, doesn't seem to be something that has bothered this org. Because they did it with the next QB after him too.
  2. sports is sports. the better team doesn't always win. KC is a well coached and one that catches a lot of breaks IMO. That's sports. I mean, I still don't think KC was the best actual team in the NFL this year. Just like I don't think Denver was in 2015. I wouldn't even say Denver was the 2nd best on the year. They were there at the end and won that game though. They get the trophy. You can replay that game, and I'd still take the 49ers.

Deadpool trailer looks really good though. Walking Dead to Game of Thrones to Disney.....IMO they are repeating the same patterns. Easy to take something people love and make a movie/TV show about it. Everything is awesome at first. But time goes by and you get further way from the easy start.....and once you make it your own, doing your own unique spins and twists from the source material that people loved or making it "better"....it eventually ruins it for the original fans of whatever it was.
  4. end of the day, Roman Harper is a Saint and not a Panther IMO.

man, Marvel was so fun at one point......all good things come to an end. I'm still holding out some hope for Deadpool 3. But the rumors on that haven't sounded good. Lot of Disney thinking they should stick their nose in it and that they know more about what the people want than the Deadpool folks.
  6. personality issues aside. I think there is a little bit of a comparable with Dan Marino when it comes to Rodgers (largely just the talent vs end game resume). Could argue both were the best pure QBs of their era and yet didn't really have the success you would think should come with it.
  7. Steve Wilks inherited what he inherited. I'm talking about what he chose to do on offense. He opted to play football from a prior era as much as possible. And when he was able to do that, THAT is when the OL looked good that season. It helped that schedule was slammed full of opponents with bad run defenses. They looked good run blocking vs bad run defenses. Passing and play action off heavy run. Not much else. It's a passing league. You need an OL that excels in that. It's a QB league. You need an OL that can hopefully get the job done once you finally find the QB everything should be built around. I mean, we lost under Wilks by double digits where we still didn't attempt more passes than runs. We won a game rushing 41 times and completing 5 passes. Won another rushing 46 times with 11 passes completed. Another win was 46 runs with 14 passes completed. Wilks did his best to make us as least embarrassing as possible. Props to him for that. But this OL isn't up to snuff and hasn't been for some time. It's weak doing what the NFL is designed to be in 2024.
  8. OL was decent when asked to play football like it was 1990. To an extent that's still a problem given that's not what you want to do in the year 2024.
  9. he was picked dead last in the 7th round and this is his first season as the starting QB. He is getting paid 2 peanuts and a cracker jack. I don't care what the Skip Bayless type shows want to talk about. No one here is having the elite convo. I know I'm not. If you want to make a long list of why they lost that game.....he isn't one of the top subjects/reasons. And that's who you are spending your time talking about and fixated on. Brock Purdy has and continues to overachieve. He isn't why they lost the Super Bowl. The folks around him turning it over, missing kicks, out coached after halftime, etc. are why they lost. YES, the team around him is why they made the Super Bowl. And they are the ones who lost it and didn't get it done.
  10. sounds great. But Montez Sweat went for a 2nd rounder last year. We aren't getting 2 1st for Burns. Fitterer botched one of those rare rip off deals that you just don't see very often.
  11. the 2 things I really want to watch next year. is he actually risk-averse to a fault? Is that his QB DNA? and there was a weirdness about that team. Hard to tell what is the coach vs players. But almost felt like in the end it was the Sanders inner circle vs everyone else.
  12. yeah, at some point it all comes back to Shanahan IMO. They went to Kittle/Debo 14 times.....for 5 catches and 37 yards. Kittle was arguably the best TE in the game this season. Him not being able to be factor for SF was big in the grand scheme. 2 yards in the end.
  13. exactly, which is why the folks around Brock lost that game. Not Brock. He managed the game like he has all season long. He did his job. Did Purdy turn the ball over? No. Did the 49ers? Yes. Multiple times. And both were big turnovers given where they occured. you in here bashing Purdy like he can be held to the standard of Mahomes.
  14. Sanders also takes a lot of sacks. I know he doesn't have the greatest OL but lot of that is just on Sanders himself and his decision making.
  15. my personal guess is Andy Reid isn't going to hang around that long to even make a legit challenge. So it will be just be Mahomes chasing Brady. but I think it will be more interesting seeing Mahomes in a non-Andy offense than it was when Brady parted with Belichick.
  16. this is Mr. Irrelevant's first season as a starter in the NFL. Brock Purdy isn't even supposed to be a good version of himself at this stage of his career. The folks around him are the ones the that need to be taking this L on the chin.
  17. CMC can't fumble in scoring position. OL can't kill drives with penalties. You can't muff a punt and give Mahomes the ball at the 16. You can't miss XPs. when you build your team like the 49ers have chosen...the burden is on the team. KC and SF are build 2 very different ways. The burden and expectations should be different. Brock Purdy did his job given his role on that team. He is paid a 2 buttons and some old pocket lint in comparison to other folks out there.
  18. nah, this was never Purdy Mahomes. It was the battle of an offense with a superstar QB vs the super star cast. And a reminder, that QB more often than not....is all that matters in the NFL. Brock Purdy didn't lose them this game. The rest of the roster didn't uphold their end of the bargain.
  19. this. only you left off when KC was struggling early....SF penalties getting him in 2nd and 27 and 2nd 19 type scenarios and WAY off schedule and killing some drives.....on top of all you mentioned. SF didn't lose that game because the game manager continued to be what he has been. The best roster in the NFL didn't hold up there end of the bargain.
  20. but again, to date, what the biggest test Jaycee Horn has seen and successfully shutdown? the only actual good QB/WR duo he has been on the field for......he wasn't tested as the game was a blowout from the jump.
  21. we have done it in the past with a lot of guys. Deangelo, Kalil, Boston, etc. Just a money game designation. You can cut them in March. Jackson ain’t worth the money. You get 2 of those designations. His contract looks right for it.
  22. I'm not sure there is a single metric you can argue that point and use. and Tua was across the board better as a rookie and the 2020 Phins weren't anything special offensively.
  23. I'd cut Jackson as one of my post June cuts. Brings the hit down to 5M.
  24. The Matt Rhule era Panthers went after BIG12 players 2nd only to the SEC.
  25. I'm sure assaulting people on the regular, being the last batch from the look at me diva era, being a legendary a hole (despite fans embracing it and finding it fun") is going to work against him with the types that vote vs....folks like Reggie Wayne/Holt who also having icing on the top rings. Not really caring to argue if it should it, shouldn't matter. I think it clearly impacts things. it took TO 3 tries to get in. I think Larry is going to jump all the WRs who are in line. And 89 is 3rd pre-Larry entering the mix.
