He proved to be a flawed committee RB in Philly. A really good team told us what he was.

So this front office made 4 free agency moves to aid/grow Bryce while also declaring it now a plug in and win now team. To date, I’d grade those moves as: Adam Thielen - A Miles Sanders - D Hayden Hurst - D DJ Chark - C Heck that’s probably generous on Sanders and Hurst given their pay and being outplayed by freaking Hubbard and Tremble.
-
Ok. I’m not worried about that. That’s something sensitive Bryce fans are worried about. Stroud has outplayed him on the season. Our offense still sucks. The Texans have been a better team overall on the year because of Stroud’s play vs our QBs play in this system. Can’t really have that both ways.
-
Will Levis out there today throwing 4 TDs. 3 to Nuk Hopkins. We got a massive front office problem. meanwhile our front office out there signing Hayden Hurst and talking about winning now
-
Ok. It’s still just one TD vs a meh D. we got a win, it was going to happen at some point. Probably will again. It’s the NFL. Good offense is still something we are waiting to see. We got a roster problem. Probably a coaching problem too. I don’t expect good O until we start addressing the issues.
-
if the kicker misses the kick at the end….what’s the narrative on the offense? Nothing actually changes about what they did on the day. I'm just saying, the offense isn’t good. It hasn’t been all year. Wasn’t good today.
-
He lead 1 TD drive against a meh defense. Offense is still dogwater. Nothing has really changed there on the year yet.
-
I know, I guess my point is comparisons only mean something before they step on the field. We have seen Mingo in the NFL. And he looks nothing like a young Boldin.
-
and Boldin still put up a career very similar to 89. Many would argue his edges Steve's. Boldin edges 89 in most categories on less games....and then adds the ring.

College Football Week 9 or also known as 'As the Harbrough Turns'
CRA replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
if it worked for the Patriots, why shouldn't coaches mimic it. It isn't like Harbaugh is the only one. He just is the only one caught. I personally equate it to paying players back in the day. Occasionally a team would get busted. It was widespread. I suspect tons of teams are doing variations of this. There is some clip of an old Denver player talking about Josh McD. They brought it to Denver. Then McDaniel's guy got busted. But he said before that happened, the coaches could tell them exactly what was going to go down on a given play. -
I mean, that is what I was doing when someone referenced Mingo to a dude that was OROY and made the Pro Bowl his rookie season. I mean, his production when on the field was actually pretty dang similar to OBJ early in his career. He opened with a 1300+ rookie season. And that was back when you could still maul WRs a little. Got hurt his 2nd year. 3rd year he had 1400+. 4th year he had 1200+. Boldin was a monster. And Boldin will have a shot at the HOF...unlike OBJ.

Both Sam Darnold and P.J. Walker starting this Sunday.
CRA replied to Rags's topic in Carolina Panthers
but PJ Walker largely enters each season as the 3rd string QB. That's why I don't get the heat people give him. Even Dalton enters each year in the 2nd string tier. -

PJ Walker in 2020 PJ Walker in 2021 PJ Walker in 2023 and the dude has a winning record to this day when called up. Walker isn't complete trash. He just isn't a starting QB in the NFL. And literally no one ever positioned him to be anything but a backup. And often the 3rd string back up. Complete trash 3rd string backup QBs.... can't maintain a winning record when called upon to step in year after year. PJ always has gotten unfair heat because of people were angry the starters we invested in frankly aren't really any better than PJ. PJ Walker was the last QB we have employed for some time that actually did the job he was employed to be well. And his job was backup QB. -
32 of these jobs in the entire world. Not hard to hire a coach. I think Frank gets 2. But something still has to change to get that second one. He has to eventually win a small handful. Look more competent as a HC. And Bryce Young has to find some sort of groove down the stretch

Were they going into those seasons with a lot of win now, playoff, never draft high again talk??

How do the Panthers move forward in a tanked season
CRA replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
We acquired the #1 overall pick in the draft. What did we trade to for it? Part of what we gave for it included choosing to give them our 2023 first round pick. We still traded it away. and that's pretty standard language. Here is ESPN describing the event. a package including wide receiver DJ Moore, two first-round picks (2023 and 2024) and two second-round picks (2023 and 2025). -

the dude who made the pro bowl his rookie year? while setting the rookie reception record, winning OROY, etc. Did they call him a bad or poor man's version of Boldin? Boldin was a certified monster out the gate.
-
Is that old saying really true anymore? at least in terms of the really good ones. sure feels like most WRs that turn out to be good in recent history....show it pretty early. Sure feels like it is skewing more 1-2 seasons now.

because it became painfully evident to this group they don't have the folks around Young they need. nor probably the scheme. Young still matters. And Young needs a legit RB of the Cohen mold in the arsenal. Whether Cohen still is Cohen is the unknown. Think it took a couple weeks of real football for our braintrust to actually realize things they should of this offseason.

Is Jaycee Horn pulling a "business decision McCaffrey" on us?!?
CRA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
is covering Steve Smith with a prime Cam Newton throwing him the ball the same task for a corner with Jimmy Clausen throwing the ball? Steve Smith might be the same. The job the corner faces isn't the same. The plays and throws the corner is going to have to be able to defend are just flat out different. Everyone is covered in the NFL to a degree. They are two different assignments for the corner. I don't see how you want to erase the QB from the discussion. Sort of like Tyreek Hill talks about. Tons of dudes in the NFL can be top tier WRs. It's about the system and who is throwing the ball. I mean, you could shut down Justin Jefferson if I am throwing the ball to him. Because I won't be. I'll be getting sacked or throwing INTs into no mans land. -
the RB we signed a couple weeks back. The one who fits the mold of a Bryce Young offense. The type we should of added this past offseason. But given we waited so late we added an injured one that hasn't played since 2020 to try to rehab back into shape. but old Cohen was legit. No telling what he looks like now.
-
his last actual NFL rep was over 3 years ago. I would assume it takes legit time to get your body for the every down car wreck that is a NFL snap. And it's why I would pump the breaks on Corbett being a game changer for us this week.

The NFL needs better research staff (YouTube / Sunday Ticket-related)
CRA replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, they give you a lot worse than the History Channel. Point taken though. But maybe tune in to the history channel instead of a Panther game and you might just be like.....History Channel ain't that bad lol. Or maybe that comes in time and you ain't old enough yet lol.
