that's not the question though. DJ Moore will be going into his 6th season next year. And we are about to entire a 100% offensive rebuild. Do you think DJ thinks he fits here at this point? Going through the slow grind of building something up?
-
Shaq, DJ and Jackson are really the trio that don't fit. But we just paid Jackson and DJ.
-
I mean he is right. The primary reason we traded CMC was draft capital. We have very little to attract a HC. We lacked it. And we lacked it because of the moves of our front office. I mean, it is a haul to some extent. But we needed that haul because we have been poorly run.
-
but it's the Fitt model. The watered-down approach of more picks.
-
He wasn't drafted. Doesn't really matter. I mean, 6, 7, and undrafted. That's where you should be adding young talent. RB is one of the spots where those late round picks can actually work out. Jaguars are another team that royally fugged it up there in recent history. Jaguars stumbled into James Robinson. Another undrafted RB. Stud. Then drafted Etienne (my guy) in the first round. So stupid. And I'm an Etienne homer. But that's not how you do it. Waste of a pick. That doesn't help Trevor. KC took Edwards Helaire in the first round. Then they drafted Pacheo in the 7th. Pacheco looks way more explosive. But KC is forced to play Edwards Helaire because of the investment. And even if he is better. The 7th rounder looks just as good for peanuts. I don't care if Bo Jackson reborn is available. Don't draft him high.

Best part of Ekeler? An undrafted free agent. I hope we never draft another RB higher than round 3 for the rest of our existence.

timing was actually ideal to start the rebuild going into 2020. I mean, if you look around the NFCS. We in theory should just now be approaching the time to start having put something together. As the NFCS turns weak.

PFT ARTICLE: The Panthers slide squarely into tank mode
CRA replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Front offices tank. Jets did it Sam’s last year. We have now entered tank mode. Players don’t tank. Front offices do. -
Think people wanted the first. Value looked to be there given what we got. So it’s only natural that it stirs up our GM’s tendency to value quantity over quality with draft picks.
-
We pointlessly wasted 3 years….and now will start the rebuild that was suppose to occur in beginning in 2020. hard to get excited about another shot at it given Tepper’s lack of a vision or know how. And I want Fitt gone. He has done a horrible job with draft capital and being part of building something. Traded away draft capital. Wasted reps on Super Bowl one year rental vets. Everyone else brought in meh or horrific. And believes 2 cheap pairs of shoes is better than one pair when it comes to drafting.
-
Depends where those picks end up. Top of each round? Yes. Bottom of each? No.
-
I’d rather have a 2024 first
-
Shenault isn’t a RB I mean, I assume Wilks will be tasked at this point to rep the bottom of the roster and young guys by Tepper. He sort of referenced that from day 1. So I’ll guess Hubbard gets the most reps working with Foreman.
-
You talking about the guy that picked up Sam’s 5th year option, signed Robbie Anderson to massive deal and had been trading away our draft collateral? I don’t love it. It’s a decent haul to an extent for a RB. CMC is special though. I bet CMC was making white quiet noise to get out of here though
-
49ers don’t have 1st and only one 2nd. sounds like we got hosed.
-
Didn’t see that one. what’s the compensation? 49ers don’t have a first rounder coming up because of Trey Lance
-
Better off just playing Hill
-
Brees and Brady weren’t Saban/Bama QBs. Which is what I was talking about. Bama/Saban QBs and how they all flop. The 2 best rosters generally in college football IMO are Bama and Ohio St. I don’t think it is a coincidence those QBs aren’t translating well to the NFL and it has become painfully consistent. I referenced Hurts build because isn’t a traditional QB. And is more football player. Like Cam was. And I think it is a bit of a cheat to use Hurts as Bama exception of one working anyway
-
Haven’t watched yet. Saw a clip him talking about some of his early fights here so there should be at least some Panther stuff. It’s an hour so it should be full of some good 89 stuff
-
my bad then. yeah, I agree with that. You got to get at least a first rounder. But yeah, they can get that I am fine with him leaving.
-
I mean, I'm talking about trading CMC from a realistic stand point. There are pros and cons. I thought you were just mentioning one of the cons. Granted, I have read all this thread. Can't really argue yes or no by removing everything else that would be involved.
-
You trade CMC to guarantee the first overall and pick up another first round pick (and more) for the next staff. You keep CMC, you might mess around and lose the top overall pick...and then you are just left with a RB that will be too old after the upcoming rebuild is ready to do something. And you have an incoming staff that doesn't have a lot of draft capital. and I assume that logic is why they are reportedly in talks as we speak. did they reduce CMC's touches last week? That game was probably called more to injure CMC than anyone that he has ever played here. Because it's the only game the illusion of the forward pass was essentially removed. These coaches aren't going to here. And it's too early to rest/protect CMC and put everyone else in meat grinder and not have the locker room turn to utter poo. plus, I operate under the logic guys like CMC have already requested out.
-
CMC and the D can fug around and win you a couple of games though. Players don't tank. If you put them on the field they are going to play.
-
my vote is to go down in a blaze of glory with Eason. IMO, that is the only correct call. You get the tank. Just as much as with anyone else. And you get to see if there is anything to him. All questions on the others have been answered.
