Cam spent most of his career behind bad OLs. He doesn’t panic. It’s like being a punt returner. You either have ice in your veins or you don’t. Sam is a panic guy. Always has been.

I personally think a 7 game losing streak to finish out a season and not winning a home game in Jan or Dec or Nov or Oct……is pretty catastrophic. but I’ll accept OP too

Yes. Sam is best flushed from the pocket. The play breaks down. He isn’t reading poo and is throwing to someone who broke off their route for him. So basically he doesn’t have to read poo, be in timing, etc.

Yeah, Matt….people that aren’t paid millions of dollars knew that two years ago. and you out here drafting DBs in the top 10, trading away draft picks for Sam Darnold.

In the end? Yeah, I think it matters if your QB plays scared or not. Because those situations will always exist. With improved OL play….it can collapse quickly. No point having a panicking and turnover prone QB. Fix the OL. Sam still is Sam.

But are you David Carr’d when your play never actually changes. again, he was the same happy foot, can’t read a field, turnover machine at USC. His turnover stats and fumbles in college were absurd. only difference is in the pros there isn’t a massive talent gap on his team vs the opponents to make it not a big deal

Shula actually had some pretty nice run schemes. He would be a nice run game coordinator working under a good OC.

Love him or hate him. Ron went out and got a talented QB to tie his fate to. He started building a new team…..and we saw it coming together the 2nd half of year 2. He earned a 3rd year. Matt Rhule is no Ron Rivera. Seen too many reporters (Scott Fowler) try to draw parallels….which we clearly aren’t seeing

Which coaches were those? And Ron didn’t get fired because of how his team ended up performing in year 2. One that clearly was being built and the results were evident and showing. Super strong finish to year 2 by a NFL guy. Pete Carroll’s 2nd year as a NFL HC was his first year in New England. He won 10 games. And he largely was a NFL guy before becoming a HC. He basically has been a NFL coach since the 80s. Took a break to go to college and came back.

Did you watch the Giants yesterday? They basically gave up and weren’t even pretending like they were trying to win. Glennon had like 4 yards going into the 4th.

and talk about a poo play too. Rhule said they were setting up a hook and lateral. Which might of been true. Like all things Matt Rhule….the play wasn’t even setup to work if it wasn’t picked. Hubbard was miles away from crossing over for a pitch. Teddy was spot on about this team not practicing and preparing properly. Still evident.

Nixon makes Joe Brady look good. Well maybe not good but the O was better under Brady. Bout time someone in the media calls Rhule on that. we score less points, have less yards, run for less yards, and take more sacks under Nixon compared to Brady.

I think Tampa looks really bad here. Basically willing to exploit a sick man for a ring. He shouldn’t of been playing football. Not saying Tampa held the solution for AB….but talk about not giving a fug.

I’ve never bought that because they Jets didn’t ruin him. He was the same guy at USC. It’s in his QB DNA and that never changes IMO.

I mean, you basically acknowledge my point in your first paragraph. A legit NFL staff is able to mitigate the impact of how bad the OL is throughout a game. This staff hangs them out to try. it’s been discussed early this season back when Joe Brady was fired that this staff isn’t able to scheme and gameplan at this level. That shows as the season goes along and in each game. Rhule and company are playing checkers and that gets a bad OL heavily exploited as a game goes along.

He has 3 straight 1000+ yard seasons with horrific QB play in all 3. DJ Moore is a very good WR. We need DJ Moores. We don’t need Robby Andersons.

Sam Darnold has never been good. Not at USC. Not in NY. Not here. He has always been the same dude. Protection. No protection. Same consistent bad QB. what if we signed Dwayne Jarrett of the street after all these years and he turned into prime 89?? We can ask all sorts of questions that aren’t going to happen.

Weak OL needs good coaching and playcalling. We have a bad OL and bad coaching/play calling. And bad QB play.
