That was missing week 1. Clemson’s offense has never worked without the QB run mixed.

At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?
CRA replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only postive, is Caleb will likely be a horrriic bust too. But we still lost the trade -
Yeah, they got to be bad. Clemson’s Cade I think technically had the greatest half in ACC history. ACC been playing cupcakes for decades. Something not right with App St

I’m over him. Was done when he exposed himself prior to Colorado Clownshow. College football and the media needs to be too…..because that program is getting air and attention best put on other programs. So until that stops, the clown show gets talked about 8pm on Fox this week.

this is some hardcore cope. You are supporting a clown so clownish….Panther fans were forced to support Nebraska for one week. You should think long and hard about that one.

Scott Fitterer and his team wanted Bryce Young. They sold Tepper on it. That always included Dan Morgan. Dan stayed to keep the Bryce thing alive since it was such a huge investment. Scott Fitterer fired for the poor job around Bryce. Dan got the gig to try to build something around Bryce that worked given the huge investement. I don't think Tepper cares about anyone or thing in term of football. Anyone can come and go. 2 games....Bryce Young was the Rock Hill practice facility. Tepper was done. That's the Tepper way. Canales had himself and team all ready to try to salvage Bryce. That's why postgame, Canales and his teammates were all in on Bryce Young. It all changed when Tepper spoke. And we know it wasn't Canales, because he was point blank asked about it all and could of easily said so (which is is what a coach should be able to say if they made the call). It was Tepper. Morgan should of seen the door with Fitterer.

we will just tell ourselves, that Clemson destroyed their confidence and souls. They were really good. but yeah, that hurts the mental mo of the fanbase going into this weekend.

Saban said what Saban was supposed to say. Hell, Dabo Swinney would find something nice to say about DJU if he entered the draft next year. If you do your job and be the man college coaches want you to be....they are going to have your back. Especially, the old style college coach. Now maybe this new age of pro ball won't carry that kind of loyalty because...well, it's not part of the deal.

Bet the Kurt Warner Europe journey never happens if he got a 37 million guaranteed contract prior

now give everyone a matching buzz cut

exactly, but Brees was an actual pocket player.....and Brees didn't have opposing defenses squatting and sitting on the pass game. Bryce isn't a pocket QB and he doesn't have an arm to make all the throws in the NFL. I think in hindsight, Brees is a lazy comparison we all got sucked into. Yes, Brees wasn't very big. But the comp ends there.
-
when things get compressed in the pocket, he can't see like others. Plays and routes that exist (hot stuff too), do not exist for him.
-
I don't know the % of how big a deal it is, but it's undeniable when he is in the pocket he can't see some things unfold at times. QB School has a great example vs the Chargers. He clearly couldn't see the wide open WR for a score because of where the line stood. There was an example early in that game too....where he just couldn't see and just bails out. Bryce isn't just short. He is the smallest QB in the modern era. I mean, he can't see when the pocket gets tight and close to him. No way around that. He has to move where others wouldn't. Now given his rough start, he just bails and kills plays.
-
I mean, part of the reason he can't see the field.....is his height. he needs a Bama pocket. Which doesn't exist in the NFL. Because that wasn't really playing in the a pocket.

Another post-mortem of Bryce in Charlotte
CRA replied to BrisbanePanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
lots of really bad players are really smart at this level. It sort of explains coaching. A lot of the best coaches know what to do, they don't have the tools to do it themselves. That's probably Bryce. And everyone deals w/ stress/pressure different too. I feel pretty confident Bryce probably can break down film pretty well. Maybe even work up a gameplan. He just can't actually do it. That's what we drafted -
I think one of the problems we have is thinking Brees provides a blueprint for Bryce. He doesn't. Because the late stage Brees you are looking at as comparable.....was a HOF QB by that stage (HOF brain, experience, etc)....and was a pure pocket player his entire career. Bryce is coming from this modern era of college football. He isn't a pocket player like Brees was as a young player. And Brees was a big downfield gambler early in his career. Opposing defenses weren't able scheme and sit on the pass game in the same manner all game.

well, if you put in stock into Tom Brady's opinions. He said the young QBs shouldn't be playing. He said they are setup to lose. They don't have time to learn how to play QB in the NFL. So what teams do is they dumb down literally everything for the young QBs and throw them into the fire. Which for a Bryce is REALLY going to hurt.....because he doesn't even have average physical tools, let alone doesn't have break glass emergency skills to overcome anything. Brady implied even ones playing well aren't really playing QB at a high level.

Glad we got that turf!!
-
hard to deny that if you are looking at the sum of 18 starts, that's largely true.
-
Bryce is super PR trained to talk. That's all that is. He gives the textbook correct thing to say at any point in time. Dave Canales is pretty similar. I mean, Bryce sucks. But Bryce is a good dude by all accounts, unlike Russell tries, etc. Only so much hate you can give him. He didn't draft himself. The anger at this point should a NFL org that doesn't know what NFL talent and doesn't have the ability to make weak talent manageable.
-
That's right. Bama all blurs to me. It's probably because I hate them.
-
No they didn't. He went to Alabama. The King Kong of college football. Started and won a natty. He then went on to be the #1 pick in the NFL. Where he got a 37 million FULLY guaranteed contract Dude never has to work again in his life if he doesn't want to when he is done in the NFL. Wish someone screwed me over like that lol

58 isn't eligible. He went to the Chargers for that final year.
