  1. Felt like just the other week Jackson was everyones favorite new corner and the best Morgan move…. life changes quick.
  2. I agree. You also can’t predict the Atlanta type games where a team just implodes. I mean a random punt returner can gift a game off two muffs and you win a game you really couldn’t in a normal scenario
  3. Well you can start with the 80 rushing grade being really suspect lol. I only recall 2 really bad pass blocking reps and one of them he was screwed trying to take on 2 guys untouched. And it was clear Rico saw the issue coming presnap (his eyes going crazy) and Young wasn’t in tune with what was coming. Still don’t see how that drops Rico to the 10th best O grade.
  4. I think we could split with the Saints. Thats 5. Then it gets tough to find more given the schedule. Maybe catch a resting Tampa team to get to 6 but 6 gets hard to really figure out.
  5. I would wager odds highly favor we see neither of those guys Sunday. Those are sort of the extreme ends of the Fields spectrum. Fields accounted for 300+ total yards vs Dallas, 260 + vs Steelers, 300+ vs Phins. Over 200 passing in those 3. Broncos likely are the actual #1 D in the NFL to date as they are #2 in yards and #2 in pts
  6. PFF feeds the beast. So it’s largely popular for that IMO and is embraced by the NFL machine because it helps feed the beast. Thats why you see the cute stats pop on the Monday Night football screen lol. Hot takes? Fantasy football? Yeah, it’s good for the NFL machine for lots of reason. I do think the league embraces them. Not because they are actually good at doing what they claim. actual analytics folks are critical of PFF. Because it’s not analytics. It’s subjective goobly goo ratings by dudes that aren’t really qualified nor even have the info to do real grading. you got legit NFL players who say they have literally put PFF grades by the coaches grades and they are worlds apart. Players have laughed at them pretending they can grade certain plays without the underlining info. NFL coaches have called out there bologna at pressers. could it be a quick tool to find out some info that has nothing to with their subjective grades? Sure. There is a lot of data on 32 teams for cheap. But I do not buy the narrative 32 NFL teams think their grades are worth a poo or remotely accurate or meaningful. All the OGs, founders, etc left, it’s largely clickbait.
  7. That workload won’t be realistic most weeks. Better defenses will force us out of the Rico show if we want to try to stay in games
  8. Preseason prediction was 6ish wins and this team really looks about like that. The wins in that 6 were always called to be heavy in this stretch of the schedule. we might beat the Jets. But it’s hard to imagine us doing much down the stretch outside of splitting with the Saints and a random other game
  9. What happens when Bryce is forced to do what Dak or Tua were forced into the last 2 weeks? That’s the Bryce issue. His team wouldn’t be in the game in that scenario. Carolina has to part with this dude. We can’t get in some Bryce Young trap and pay a below average QB.
  10. No, not just the Atlanta game. I don’t feel the need to go through every game and point out BY had measly 126 yards vs the Giants and the D and kicker won it in overtime. Bryce Young overall has been a reason and often big reason why the Panthers have trailed in the 4th quarter in literally every single game of his entire career….minus one game. and again, the entire point is addressing the suggestion BY is somehow more clutch than Jake and Cam because of his GWD numbers. Thats dumb. And that is what we are ultimately addressing here BY isn’t even on track to be the 3rd best QB in Panther history. Not even close. Bringing up Cam and Jake is blasphemy and almost anti-Panthering in the name of stan-ing for BY.
  11. really good QBs, end up with lots of yards overall. I mean, name a really good QBs........that is consistently below league average every year in yardage (that isn't a runner as those get a little weird)? Bryce is below par in most avenues passing in judged. Not just total yardage. Comp % is really low. Bad throw % is really high.
  12. I thought he also was put into some really tough pass protection spots Sunday.....and I'm sure being the workhorse all day and cramping up again made it even tougher. I just don't see how we can be critical of Rico for not having a literally perfect game. Which is what it feels like nitpicking about 3 pass pro plays.
  13. why I don't like this game? who wants to win this game more than anyone? probably Steve Wilks...and the Jets D is probably due for some turnover action given how starved they have been (league worst in takeaways with 1).
  14. 1-20 on the road 0-3 this season on the road (down 3 scores at the half in all 3). I think people would be wise just to not bet on the Panther games. Go donate to a local charity lol.
  15. yeah, I think if you had the will to actually stick through a 17 game season you likely would come out in the positive using this strategy. This was always the part of the schedule where the Panthers were predicted to find some wins.
  16. this is true. But NFL Ss and defenses are actively taking that away and playing to take them away vs most teams. The problem thus far in BY's career......is they are cheating and not respecting the deep game which makes the smaller/mid range game harder to pull off. and Dallas is an anomaly game. using those random games that run counter to vast work......doesn't really change the discussion/issues in Carolina. Bryce Young took the shots this week because they were not just NFL open but college open. Wide open dudes downfield that really were coverage busts/issues.
  17. not true. For years, we noted that Bryce Young completed passes to Bama WRs when they were Bama open. There wasn't a defender within 10 yards on 2 of those 3 throws. No one within 5 on the other. Props to him for seeing the open man.....but Bryce wasn't suddenly making throws he struggled with. Dudes just college open downfield.
  18. Rico had 122 rushing yards after contact Sunday. Rationale ain't rationalizing.
  19. Jake Delhomme's career ended that season. I mean, it technically didn't. But it ended after the combo of the AZ closer/Philly opener. That's where the end can be found. Hard to play in the NFL without an arm downfield.
  20. PFF also is just a bunch of randos bullshitting up stuff with their own biases all over their "grading". any grading system that thinks Rico had the 10th best day on offense.....needs to spend some time in front of a mirror and ask themselves why they are so silly. There grades continue to often make zero sense. Especially, how they are then used by the masses and wielded. and I think Carolina PFF folks are also now self aware of how they are critiqued on Bryce Young at this point given their "check this out"!!! about Bryce facts/highlights.
  21. I mean, if the AZ game where Hubbard ran for literally all the yards on the winning drive counts....why not the Giants game?
  22. the reason? or a reason? he is a reason, a lot of the time. He is a role player. And as a role player, we largely get a very low ceiling of offensive production from the QB spot and passing game most weeks. That's been a pretty consistent aspect as of the Bryce Young era. If the offense has zero TDs on the day and a football game is won off of 3 FGs (9 points).....I'd say Bryce Young has a LOT to do with being in that scenario lol and the entire point, is countering the implication that Young is somehow more clutch or better than Cam or Jake in pressure moments. Which is absurd. Bryce just lives in losing scenarios late. Every single week. Which wasn't Cam or Jake. Where essentially any game the Panthers find a way to win will log as a GWD because Bryce Young teams are always down in the 4th (factually speaking).....even if Bryce is a spectator largely in the win.
  23. That’s fantasy football eroding the take. I’m not even a Bryce fan and I can name more impressive QB play from Bryce. He hit a couple dudes Bama open in the NFL. That was his day really thanks to Rico and joke defense.
  24. Rico making the top 10 by the skin of his teeth with the 10th highest grade on offense lol.
