Developmental / bottom of the roster player we carry this year?
Basbear replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just to add, I believe Clay Johnston played MLB for Baylor for what its worth. LB needs upgrades form 3-6, Carter entered my Thomas/Little hopeless bubble.... There are a few names still FAs, I know KJ wright is a under-rated stud form Seahawks....heard he wants "market value", if they feel playoffs are close....sign him up. YOLO mode and sign Reuben Foster, I like Todd davis as well. Darran Lee is another guy I think he was a former 1st. -
Please bring in some LBs, thats my over-reaction take for the week.... LB is the real weak point of the D, not safety. Perryman is injury-prone which would leave solo Shaq again....as I view Reddick as a edge guy mainly.

Gilmore fell off a cliff last year compared to his 2019 season, HUGE red flag when any 30+ year old does that. Also glad to finally say this, panthers dont need him.

Dang too old then. Cast a wide net it is...

Speaking of the guys who call Panther games: Steve Smith, Sr.
Basbear replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bball-wise yes, i was referring to announcing. Shaq had a couple times on live tv threaten Chuck, cause Chuck hurt his feelings. No one will replace Chuck when he leaves, Im shocked hes still allowed on TV. -

I was not a Rucker or Donnelly fan at all, rucker did get better after a few years. I got no idea how smitty will do, hes hit and miss on NFL. His timing, wording, and delivery are his issues. I do like his real comments, hes still rough about waiting his turn and getting mush mouthed. Smitty sorta reminds me of Shaq, who is too thinned skin to be around the goat Charles. How will smith react when someone questions his statements live or when he is incorrect on a players name or just making live mistakes in general ??...hmmm Smith is the type that wants you press his buttons or he doesnt respect you, Jake did and they got along great. I never get along with those types. -
Tremble Projected to be 3rd Most Productive Rookie TE
Basbear replied to Little Goody Two Shoes's topic in Carolina Panthers
How is this accurately measured? I know Rhule was a huge Tremble guy, I didnt share the same feelings. He could start very easily here, I do look forward to seeing how brady uses him and how many snaps he plays per game. -
Whats hooker up to?? Ha-Ha is at that retirement fork, were teams are picking a 6th round rookie over you. Im alone on this branch, just feel the Safety spot is fine with or without Chinn. Big Burris and Franklin believer. Chandler and Krob got what you want in a safety as well, just need the coincidence form coaching staff. I like the group as a whole and think there no huge need there.

Sam Tecklenburg, Elf is the only other backup C on the roster besides Sam. Moore got a few reps, but he may need a couple years to reach where he needs to be. -

Soke- "DJ Moore with a big-time 85 yard gain!!!" Smitty- "I would have score if that was me". Everyone- "....." -
Big Rosinski guy, but whats his age? I know these talking gigs are old age friendly, just dont know where his health is either. Honestly I thought the first time Trepper heard Mixon do a game, he would have fired him before the half time show. I think the search needs to be just like the HC and GM, wide net. I also prefer for the next guy to have some honest talking room, I hate some fluffer telling me how awesome they are playing down 40 with 20 minutes left.

Soccer star heart gives out during Euro’s on front of all fans
Basbear replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Huddle Lounge
I seen were a few people are claiming he recently got his vaccine and this is another bad reaction, I have no idea. -
I member you and I being team bradberry, agree the wrong one was chosen, but we dont have all the facts. I know when Rhule and crew got here they wanted CBs with a heavy track background, bradberry was never a speed demon. LG, I will say this- I think by this seasons end you will come around on thinking Shaq is better than average. Yea he landed on a team with short but rich LB history. FYI that draft class was the worse one in the last 10 ten years. He did not get much help last yr, if any outside Burns and Brown. I think he breaks out form the bad take huddle opinion this up coming season, well those who are willing to admit when it happens. For that class being the worst one in 10 years, I think he has played well compared to his 25th pick status. They added some beef in Nixon, Jones, Fox, and hoskins. Plus perryman allows Shaq to play SLB more, I think thats his best spot.

You are right. One of my fellow friends that our whole friendship was the panthers, after missing that Denver game winning FG he completely was done with Gano. He did care and would not change his mind after that happened. To him it was like taking back a woman who cheated on you, he was 100% over, no going back, and wanted nothing more with them.
-
Am I wrong in thinking Gano had one year were he only missed one or two FGs for the whole year and big brained huddlers STILL complain?.... EVEN when youd bring up he only missed one FG for the year?? He did miss a couple/few XP that year, but going like 35/36 in FGs and still get pissy, my god....why?!?!
-
I defended him like crazy, same for Bradberry. During Ganos time here the kickoff coverage team was the worst in the NFL, Gano minimized their involvement. Yea he did have injuries later on, but just proved to be over them at least for the past year. ugh, never got the blind hate for either...hell Shaq is getting their too.

Id rate Shaq much higher than decent or average. For a LB he has great coverage skills, not many LB are good covering TEs, RBs, and slow WRs. Thats super important in the this passing era NFL. Shaq can and has done it plenty, more than the one fitz game. I didn't like the contract(CMC too) either, but like you and I posted years ago said- Herniay hardcore panicked. One thing panther do right with 1st rounders is they are most times the youngest(or very close) player in draft. Shaq is only 26 and played 6 full seasons, so he could be just entering hes prime. But please dont believe Shaq is "decent/average". If average is a 5 on the 10 scale, Shaq is a solid 7 overall. He truly is a modern LB too- many can not biltz, cover, hit with force, fast, quick, tough, work in traffic, shed blockers like the package Shaq brings.

Give it up for the panthers decision makers on this= they had three kickers in Butker, Gano, and Slye. They choose the worst one, great job guys!! SB winning kicker on a cheap 4 year deal, nah(do I need to say in just 3 years hes 2nd ALL-time in kick %). Proven Gano that lead the league in touchbacks(panthers had the poorest kick team during this FYI), among the league leaders in kick % for a few years, nah plus bad take fan gave him hate. So who is leftd? Sourbunns armed guy that has a strong but not accurate leg...

Shaq is in that weird area of the huddle, just as Gano and Bradberry were in aka Poor take land. Yes hes not a bargain, but its not a extreme overpay either. Very few LB have Shaqs toolset and its incorrect saying he can not cover. He locked up HOFer Larry Fitz as a slot CB and played as a big nickle with good success. He a hard working type and puts in plenty of weight training time. He does have issues with play recognition and that makes him appear slow on the field or in the wrong area at times. FYI no player has constant stats. If player X has 16 sacks in a season, he did not get one each game. Every time he had 4, 3, 4, sack games against a weak opponent. Shaq is no different in his stats. Honestly I hoped the team finally turned on their brain and not over valuing the LB spot. I had no issue with cutting Shaq before the team triple down by converting his base into a signing bonus. Now we are stuck with Shaq and CMC......feels like old times......heaaaa

My god.... they talk as bad as I type!
