  1. I get what you are saying but what makes people think Stroud isn’t as good at processing and progressions? I’ve seen him drop back and go through his reads on the regular while putting up great numbers.
  2. Yeah Shi is more quick/slot and TMJ is pretty fast, but I don't see him blowing the top off a defense or anything. He just had a great catch radius in college.
  3. Yeah that's another thing. Stroud isn't a bad processer. In fact he is very good at it. He had the top rating in all of the NCAA last year. Does Young have the edge in processing? Probably, but I've also seen him miss open looks due to lack of vision. @Wes21posted several clips of this I believe.
  4. Corral was #2 at Ole Miss. He had to change numbers because DJ already had #2 here. I'm not saying it's not Young, but Corral's number has nothing to do with it.
  5. Brock Osweiler was pretty big too for a counter point. I think what people are saying is gambling on a size outlier at 1 is too risky for some.
  6. It's getting closer! On a side note, Vegas is not sold on Levis at 1 @Carl Spackler should be able to sleep a little better.
  7. I was all in until I read the Drew Brees part... (kidding)
  8. Which one of these two played the tougher defenses? I keep hearing SEC is the best, but I honestly think it was a down year for SEC defenses and I've seen several BIG10 defenses ranked pretty high...
  9. Yeah I remember the UGA game how he kept saying he gave it his all and left it all on the field. He wasn't blaming the kicker or teammates he was just owning it.
  10. We also need to get faster at the WR position. Hurst (TE I know), Theilen, TMJ
  11. Yeah the GM and HC address the press and give what people think are "hints" at who they are drafting. Meanwhile Vegas doesn't flinch. The money knows not to take these press conferences too seriously....
  12. That's what I was thinking. I thought playing under pressure was his weakness? These numbers are telling a different story. It looks like he is just not that great outside of the pocket.
  13. Lucky for us our jobs aren't on the line. Well I guess the people whose jobs are make more than most of us will in a lifetime, so maybe we aren't so lucky after all...
  14. I'm not worried about him making plays at the next level. He is a very bright man and I think he can be great. It's why I'm not upset if we draft him, I will be happy in fact. I'm just concerned his body won't be able to hold up after so many hits from NFL players. I know some of us don't like to hear it, but size does matter to a degree...
  15. I think we have a great staff that can develop and correct the weaknesses of Stroud’s game. Young’s weakness can’t be corrected, so I lean Stroud.
  16. The OSU QB thing is just a absurd talking point. From 1940 until 2022 only FOUR OSU QBs went in the first round. The first two were decades ago and the last 2 were Haskins and Fields (who I wouldn't call a bust yet). Always scout the player not the team.
  17. I get the tape weighs much more than anything else, but the physical ability does come into play. It's why Josh Allen went early and AR probably will too. Also let's not pretend like Stroud's tape wasn't incredible. He tops Young in just about every passing statistic there is against solid competition and has the best rating in the NCAA. You don't get that from mediocre tape...
  18. He must have a much smaller sample size of being under pressure. That OSU OL kept his pocket clean and he got the ball out fast.
  19. It's the Huddle. If anyone is wrong about anything they go crazy. Most sources are using educated guesses, but it is still a guess. Not to mention a lot can change between now and draft day.
  20. If we landed MHJ to pair with our young QB, this place would explode with excitement! With that said, I would be very surprised if it was next year's first to move up one spot...
  21. I think they are also trying to get Indy involved. If the Texans think their division rival is about to jump then to take their QB, they may give up something to prevent that.
  22. The "theory" would be we like both Young and Stroud so if Houston gives up significant capital to take their guy then we would gladly accept. I'm not 100% sold on it, but a few people have mentioned Carolina being ok with trading down if the price is right.
  23. The million dollar question is does our staff want to move down to 2 and acquire more capital. If that is the case then the Young at 1 is being "leaked" because that is Houston's guy. The counter is they have the top pick and can be as bold as they want about it. They moved up to 1 with Young being a great pick and will still do their research on the other guys to validate him as the guy.
