So who is better, Stroud or Young?
ForJimmy replied to Randolph Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Young's arm strength is good. Durability with his frame/style of play would be a concern to me. -

I can see that. He will just need to adjust him game some in the NFL, but most players do. Extending plays long enough to take those hits will hurt a lot more when it's NFL players doing it. He seems very good at staying calm under pressure as well. -

My fault. I meant "he is smart at reading defenses." My question is what is his physical talent that you are so excited about? -

What is Young's physical talent? It is smart and great at reading defenses. I don't see anything physically jumping off the charts? -

Arizona is 2-4 at the bottom of their division. -

Tim Couch was the top pick and busted. -

Levis? What Kentucky QBs have made it? Couch, Lorenzo? Cobb had to covert to WR. Just showing how silly the college argument is. -
Injuries are one thing but rolling out 4th string in the most important position in sports is a little bit of a handicap. It’s a tough task for any coach, must less an intermediate one that just took over 6 days ago.
-
Lol right? He didn’t beat the Rams 45-0 with PJ Walker. I mean he had 6 days, what more does he need?!
-
I don’t think that. I think you can’t judge him after this one game all things considered. I’m just saying give him a few weeks to “right” it and if he can’t then we can hire a new HC this offseason.
-
4th string QB, best LB, best CB, and Chinn who is a captain. Now add the fact we traveled across the country and he just became the HC not even a week ago. We will have time to access him, people are just being a little premature which is par for the course.
-
He just became the HC of a staff he didn’t hire and had one week to prepare his team to travel across the country with a 4th string QB, no Luvu, no Horn, and no Chinn and take on the Rams. Give the man a few weeks at least to try to right this sinking ship… I doubt he is the answer, but let’s give him some sort of chance before writing him off.

Jacob Eason… Come on down. Thoughts on his limited play?’
ForJimmy replied to panthersgreenville's topic in Carolina Panthers
Who gives a poo. He was a top high school recruit that went to a talented team and put up great numbers like he was suppose to. You bring this up and we go in circles. Auburn before Cam, LSU before Burrow, Oregon before Herbert, Tennessee before Manning, Texas Tech before Mahomes. The college doesn’t make the player. Oh and don’t draft Levis because Kentucky produced Couch, The Hefty Lefty, and Cobb had to become a WR in the NFL. -
Just embrace it… take the L’s and let’s get the #1 pick

Anderson and Shaq come to mind. If we get a stupid offer for CMC then that’s a possibility too, but I doubt we get one worth it. -

CJ Stroud can throw pretty good too. -

Stroud is the better fit for the NFL IMO. Better QBR, better arm, better frame for the NFL. -
Yep. We have a solid young OL to drop a rookie QB behind plus a young core on defense with Brown, Burns, Horn, and Chinn. It's really not the worse place to be in. Replace McAdoo with a coach that knows how to call an offense and replace our terrible QBs with a talented young signal caller and we could be competitive pretty quickly.
-
The right coach plus Stroud or a top QB can right this ship very quickly. It will be an interesting offseason. I think Tepper can still hire the right guy. I doubt he hires a college guy with little NFL experience again...

The problem with the Hornets is this could cost them Ball. They have a young top talent and haven't given him poo to work with. That doesn't work in the NBA... -

The Dolphins forfeited their pick so we would technically get #1 and #32. It will be a good year to have the top pick. If we can flip some high salary players for more picks it could be a franchise changing draft. -
He is still available
-
Getting PJ sacked or having him chunk up INTs can also be delating to our team/defense early in the game. His strategy was try to slow it down and keep it close to see if we can somehow steal this win with an incomplete roster. It didn't work, but he kept it competitive for a half until McVay opened up the passing game and put pressure on our defense.
-
Umm ok? Yeah we are no where near their level as a franchise right now. Wilks didn't coach as well a Bill this week... Keep in mind Wilks didn't help draft any of these players or hire any of this staff.

If he tanks, I’m not sure he lands the HC job next year.
