  1. I'm not acting like I do. I am saying there is no way he has ZERO responsibility for our situation like you seem to think. It's not an uncommon practice to hire a new GM then find a new coach with said GM. I would imagine part of the roster is going to be rebuilt with a new coach. There are already CMC trade rumors with RA. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of vets traded away and a new foundation started with some of our young cheaper players.
  2. Irony is blaming Rhule for everything and saying Tepper had no control, but then saying Morgan has control with Fitt.
  3. We kept Hurny to help us find Rhule and that worked out great....
  4. So all the contracts go through Suleiman and all the trades/draft picks/FAs go through Rhule making Fitt absolutely useless. Do you see what kind of hurdles you are jumping through to try to say he has no responsibility for the mess we are in. You have no clue what Fitt signed off on or backed up. He sure as hell hyped up the Darnold trade when it happened and talked about how much he liked him in college and thinks he can make the next jump with us. https://sny.tv/articles/panthers-gm-scott-fritterer-talks-sam-darnold-trade-it-s-definitely-worth-the-gamble- He took the job with Rhule already having roster control. I mean that was part of the job when he signed on and now that is his excuse?? I'm not buying it. His job was to build a contender with Rhule and he failed miserably. He failed so bad we are currently picked 1st with a shitty cap situation. If Dan Morgan put his stamp on any of these terrible trades/contracts I would be looking elsewhere for a GM candidate. People should be responsible for their actions. My point with Morgan is it's silly to think he would turn down a job because they fired his friend for job performance. I get that you like the guy, but he was a part of this staff that has us in a mess and if he some how avoids all responsibility in your eyes then he has done nothing in his current role. Just sat there and took his check while Rhule did everything.
  5. He still has to play UGA as well. The UT offense is that fast pace spread offense that their coach used at UCF and I'm not sure how well it will translate. Hooker has a decent arm and decent speed, but nothing elite that will give him an advantage at the next level. He has his age working against him, but I do think he is a very smart QB which can take you pretty far. I just don't see him as more than a great backup and possibly decent starter. Nothing that should have him drafted in the top 10, which is where will be drafting. In the 2nd or 3rd then maybe, but you would have a QB that is pretty similar to Corral. A college offense with decent speed and arm strength that got banged up a little last year running against college defenses.
  6. This case it's not even backstabbing. If Fitt gets fired Dan Morgan taking the job or not doesn't change that. Fitt wold be fired for performance not just so his buddy can have his job.
  7. Yeah I really don’t understand it. He was a (more that likely) big part of our staff that got us to this terrible state. The “it’s unfair to fire him” is just odd. I’m still surprised at the “if you fire him his friend won’t take a promotion” view too. Can you imagine Dan Morgan being like “no I won’t take this promotion with more pay/responsibility because you fired my buddy.” Also what happens if our new coach is a Sean Payton and wants final roster control? I guess we could never fire Fitt. It’s a high paying job with no responsibility apparently…
  8. My point is Tepper is going to paint a picture to make himself look better. Acting like we have gotten better is showing he didn’t totally botch his hires (like he did). The Huddke heard things have shifted on that front, but he has never been stated Rhule lost roster control. You are just assuming because you like some of the moves. Again who is responsible for these terrible contracts? Is Rhule restructuring contracts as well and signing Erving and company to bad deals? You really have to let go of this whole “he had no final say so he shouldn’t be fired” spill. He did something these past 3 years that has contributed to where we are at as a franchise. I’m going to have to remember that line if my boss ever tries to fire me… “you can’t because I don’t have final say on everything.” That’s just not how the world works. As stated he took the job knowing the situation and we failed to be a complete team for these 3 years. If they fired him I can see it as justified.
  9. Tepper may think the roster is good (I think it’s PR talk), but if YOU chose to believe it you are believing the man that thought Rhule was a good coach. Also that wanted to trade the farm for Watson. So you keep believing him, but I’m going to remain skeptical… You are doing the same exact thing and don’t even realize it. You credited Fitt for the OL but he doesn’t have roster control right?? So good job Rhule fixing the OL? If Fitt wasn’t responsible for any roster moves which I highly doubt, was he also no in charge of contracts? Is our salary cap mess not his fault either? My whole point is Fitt can’t avoid responsibility completely for the situation we are in. He either did absolutely nothing and hasn’t proven anything or he had involvement and is partially responsible for the mess we are in. Either way he isn’t “owed” the job…
  10. Of course Tepper is going to dress it up for us fans. What do you want him to say? It’s awful we are terrible. We haven’t won’t more than 5 games with Fitt’s roster and our cap is terrible next year. I do find it funny you are using Tepper’s words stating we have got better, while also mentioning he isn’t viewed well around the league. Strickly from a GM a standpoint we have a bottom tier roster in which it has been reported our interm coach said (behind close doors) some players don’t belong in the NFL. We still are missing the most important position in QB. Our cap situation is one of the worst next year and you think it would be unfair to fire the GM? If you can’t blame him for the roster or cap situation he really hasn’t done poo at all then. Drafting 1st with no cap space usually means the GM and coach didn’t do their jobs well…
  11. Well he has been the GM of a failing franchise. You call that good performance? We may give him another chance with a new coach, but what has he done so far that has impressed you? So you are taking one comment and using it as a league wide view? How did you get there and why would Fitt be ok with working under such a bad person??
  12. This seems overblown. If Tepper is viewed so poorly by the league, why is Fitt still working for him? It’s because he wants to be a GM like many of these professionals do. Its not screwing over someone to let someone go for poor job performance. Fitt had some responsibilities and has to take some blame for the state of the franchise. Plenty of coaches/ assistants around the league are friends but that doesn’t mean they refuse jobs over one getting fired. I’ve never heard of a coach or GM turn down a job because their friend was fired by the owner in the NFL. It’s a business and I can’t imagine one of them turning down an opportunity because their friend was fired for job performance.
  13. It absolutely matters who did what. If he botched what little power he had then why in the world would we give him more??? That's like an assistant coach drawing up terrible plays but still wanting the promotion because it wasn't fair he didn't have full control. Depending on who we hire he still may not have full control. That doesn't mean we can't ever fire the guy and we have to give him the job if the next coach gets fired. I don't think Morgan is sentimentally attached to the Panther's job. I think he wouldn't turn down ANY GM promotion job because his friend was fired from the organization especially one that he has some ties to already. He was going to leave his buddy Fitt to become the GM for the Steelers if they offered it to him because he wants to be a GM. If they want to start new and interview several candidates for the GM job and the committee, Tepper, or whoever he has sit in on these interview likes Morgan the best then it's his job IMO. I don't think it will be him or that we will even fire Fitt, but thinking he won't take a job because his friend got let go from the organization was silly. Especially given how bad we were these past 3 years. No one's job should be safe fair or not.
  14. How is it unfairly? You are assuming Rhule was the driving force behind some of these bad trades, contracts etc. We have no idea, but I am sure Tepper knows. Do we know for sure Rhule wanted Darnold and was the main person that got him extended before the season started? Was it Rhule that traded away a 3rd for Henderson or signed Thomas and Anderson to those terrible contracts? Was it Rhule that signed Erving and Elf to dumb contracts right away last offseason? I highly doubt Rhule was the one structuring those contracts and has our cap screwed up this offseason for a team that is possibly going to finish last. If that gets Fitt fired then I don't consider that "unfair." The process after that would be interviewing new candidates for the GM and if they give Morgan an interview you think he would turn into because they fired his friend? That doesn't make sense to me. So Dan Morgan wouldn't continue his career with the franchise that drafted him because the owner fired his friend which very well could be for a good reason? I'm not buying it.
  15. It's probably hard for us fans to know exactly what these assistants/scouts/staff members are doing behind the scenes. Well liked throughout the organization is a common phrase that was used for Beane and I would assume means he has done his job pretty well. It also speaks well for him that Beane wanted him on his staff pretty quickly when he went to Buffalo and Fitt wanted him back when he got the job here.
  16. He may have wanted too much control. Who knows? All I know is he had a good run when he was a head coach. I'm not wanting to give our new HC any roster control so that pretty much eliminates him anyway.
  17. I would say Fitt has been the GM and we really haven't "won" any of his trades. That could be more than enough reason to let him go despite experience. I'm not saying Morgan is the guy, but he is still a question mark and we may feel we already know what we have in Fitt and it hasn't been anything great.
  18. Yeah Singletary would be useless for us as he is a FA next season. Cook and their 1st is what I would want. Their 2nd is going to be a late 2nd so pretty much a 3rd for CMC, no thanks. RA I am ok with as long as it relieves some of his contract from us as well.
  19. That will put us in the Richardson range I believe...
  20. If he wanted Allen and is our HC next year there is a good chance we are drafting Richardson if we are in the right spot.
  21. CMC to Buffalo for their 1st and James Cook. I'll get on board.
