I think Flores with our talent on defense would be a playoff team. If he hires a good OC, we could get dangerous in a year or two. Tua wasn’t anything special this year, had a terrible OL like us and I feel like we have more talent on defense/overall than that Dolphins team.

OR we could be a playoff team by firing Rhule and hiring Flores. Seems a lot easier?

I was ok with QB until we kept Rhule. I don’t want him picking his guy or coaching a young QB. If we land this “rockstar” OC and he has a lot of influence, my opinion might change…

Makes you wonder why he was on Cooper a week or 2 after we traded for him with an injury…

I wouldn’t mind Gilmore staying to mentor, but not for stupid money. We aren’t competing next year so why not develop these young guys?

I was about to say this. He will be a nice vet to play with Henderson, Horn, Taylor, SOT, and Pride.

That would be a good long term plan, but short term it leaves Sam at QB. Rhule is definitely on the hot seat, so I don’t see him going long term (which is why it was dumb we didn’t fire him).

CJ Stroud might give him a run for his money. I like KJ at Arkansas, but he won’t be that high. Murray seemed to have a stronger arm and run faster, but maybe I’m wrong…

Young seems small. Do you think we take him at 1 next year?

I noticed Fitt immediately jumped into BC’s versatility mentioning he can play LG or even RG if needed. That makes me think he is considering LTs in this draft. I’m personally not sure how good BC would be at LG, but he looked solid at LT. We could run Cross, BC, FA/later pick, Brown, Moton and have a solid young line.

Can you imagine Flores with our talent on defense??? We may win games with Darnold if we had that combo…

I have nothing against Pickett. I think people that were down on him are the same who were down on Mac. They are the boring, pro ready QBs whose film check a lot of the boxes, but they won’t wow you at the combine. I’m still thinking Carson Strong is being overlooked to a degree.

He was the QB coach Herbert’s rookie year when he won rookie of the year. He also worked with Luck in Stanford and the Colts. It’s a more extensive resume than Brady. I’m not saying he is the next guru, but he tends to get a lot out of young QBs if the talent is there. The bouncing around is definitely alarming, but it’s a step up from a very inexperienced Brady looking good one year in college with an extremely loaded offense. Joe Brady may be good down the road, he just needs more experience.

Pep had Mills (a 2nd round rookie) looking good and developing. I wonder if we try to trade down and grab a Howell/Strong in the 2nd. If BC is a better LT than LG we could grab a solid LG or C later in the first with Strong in the 2nd and maybe have a young offense with some potential when the season is over…

Run first is good, especially if you don’t have an elite QB. The problem is when you get behind it’s hard to adjust the offense. It will be a good offense for Darnold and to help transition a rookie the following year. Mac Jones has thrived in a run first offense.

Yeah don’t let Rhule draft our QB. Just draft OL and build a nice pocket for our new coach next year and his QB he drafts.

Yeah I’m for just grabbing a safe LT now. I’m not nearly as excited about this draft with Rhule making the pick. Just no trading away future picks and no extending player contracts. Let the new coach get his QB next year from a deeper class and re-rebuild.

New plan. Fire Snow and hire Flores as DC. Fire Rhule after week 1 and let Flores take over.

The roster isn’t really bad aside from a couple OL spots and QB. The coaching is the problem…

It doesn’t make sense anyway. Why would Flores want him to the degree of getting fired over it.
