I get that, but you also don’t want your top pick to have the same build as Stuart from accounting (I’m an accountant so I can pick on that profession). These are the top athletes in the world, bigger and faster than ever. 5’10” 180ish has never happened long term as a NFL QB. Brees was an exception and he had 2 inches and 20 pounds on Young. Measurements exist for a reason and are reviewed by scouts and coaches. They were concerned about Pickett’s hand size last year. It’s such an issue that it’s a legit reason why Young isn’t considered as high of a producer as Luck, Lawrence, or even Burrow.

Yeah it’s a durability thing. People keep referencing Brees. Young is even a good bit smaller than him. The difference between Rodgers and Brees is the same as Brees and Young (about 2 inches and 15-20 pounds). Brees also got the ball out quick (played more like Stroud honestly) and took very little hits. It’s enough of a concern for me to rate Stroud about Young comfortably. Young is still a great prospect, but so is Stroud with less of a risk.

I think if Young was even 6’ 200 (playing weight) I’d lean towards him and that’s still a smaller QB. Young thrives under pressure, but I think Stroud is better in the pocket. Stroud thrives in rhythm and timing. He gets the ball out quickly which I think might translate better in the NFL. I’m just concerned that Young’s style of play leads to more hits which paired with his shall frame makes him slightly more of a risk IMO.

I have nothing against Young. Just poking fun and showing the flaw in putting intelligence over everything else. A QB has to be smart and read a defense but I think both of the top 2 have shown they can do that. I’m also not 100% all in on one player like you are. Sounds like you are a Young fan more than a Panthers fan….

You mean our GM isn’t disclosing his exact draft plan in mid March? That seems odd….

CJ seems like the best fit for Reich’s offense.

I’ll sleep if I want to! Trying to boss me around…

All of our starters are returning so I’m assuming it’s depth.

Marc Ryan - "Carolina Zeroed in on Stroud and Richardson"
ForJimmy replied to CPcavedweller's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be 1000% clear, he isn't my top choice for pick 1. I prefer Stroud and Young over him. I just think he is further along than people are thinking and will probably be playing some in year 1. That Florida offense had him looking a lot worse than he is. I saw a lot of drop backs, going through reads, and WRs dropping nice throws. -

I hope this is sarcasm and I just can see it through text....

I think he may be less raw than people are thinking. I could see a team incorporating an offense similar to the Eagles last year and running a lot of plays with AR helping get his feet wet in year one. -
Reich isn't going to talk bad about any prospect or player. It will always be nothing but compliments. That's the kind of person he is. It works out great too because it prevents people from knowing where his head is at in situations like this.

Even if it's AR (which I don't think it is) I feel like he is getting playing time week 1. Dalton is the backup and got paid like a backup.
