I’ve seen people mention Tannehill but I’d just ride it out with Willis. If he looks good you can trade him, if he doesn’t GB will actually have a high pick for the first time in a while. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and this is all for nothing.

Well looks like that performance didn’t inspire any other team to sign him so we got him back. He was cut to give him a chance of signing with a team after his performance. It wasn’t an insult but a reward. When no one signed him we still stashed him away on our practice squad. There isn’t a spot for him in our current RB room yet.

I know he came in briefly but he looked instantly better than the older QB who had all of the reps. I think Harrell will be fine. Like you said he looked solid in the bowl games where he got plenty of reps in practice leading up to it.

OL is always a good investment. They can make your QB and RB look better plus give your WRs more time to get open plus help TOP.

But if the price is even they will pick the better team usually. That’s why we have to overpay some to a degree. I’m sure Hunt for example had lesser offers on the table. We just outbid the other ones.

I still think he looks a good bit better this year. He was playing through a groin injury last year plus our OL should be better this year. His contract is still not good, but I just have a feeling his production will be better. I don’t know if it could get worse…

Also throw in when you are a bottom tier team you have to take some risks and slightly overpay to attract some players. Unfortunately that’s part of it.

Sounds like next year doesn’t look to bad with all the dead money. That will do wonders. Of course that can change quickly. I think the main reason is all of the staff turnover. We keep trying to redo a roster from Rhule to Reich to Canales. Hopefully Canales works out…

All the waiver claims

We had to shed 8 by yesterday. We restructured a couple to shed around 2, but were still 6 over. I think they did 10 to leave some wiggle room as the season starts. Just a complete guess though.

Man when was the last time we only had a couple hundred thousand in dead cap money? At least that is kind of promising.

He just turned 30. Trent Williams is 36 and got a 3 year extension. 30 isn’t that old for a vet OL. Now I would not pay him after this extension (if offered) past age 34. If his contract reflects his play I’m good. Not top of the league but a solid starting RT salary. It’s nice to have a solid piece of the OL not to worry about. Plus he has had few injuries so far.

Yeah I don’t believe I mentioned a guy being good enough. I’m just saying our supporting cast for our offense was bad. That doesn’t automatically make our QB good, just lets you know he wasn’t working with much. I just used Baker on 2 different teams to highlight how bad it was. The topic I was arguing centered around people trying to prop up our offense and blame it ALL on the QB. He was part of the issue no doubt, but he wasn’t working with much. Sounds like we both agree. The whole offense was bad. Now we can sit back and enjoy the show and see what direction we are going.

I’m talking about a QB on a roster that immediately looked better once he left and even better the next year he was away. My point was the offensive roster was bad. He even had Moore and half a CMC. I’m not comparing Baker directly to Bryce. Just using him to show how bad our whole situation was.
