Yeah safe to say Darnold should be a backup but some wanted us to keep Teddy or bring in Minshew
-
No secret I am a fan of his QB evaluations. Here is where he stands so far. He still thinks that Darnold has a chance to redeem himself. It will be interesting to see where he ranks our incoming rookie Matt Corrall.

Tepper Sports to install grass field but not for Panthers

Ask any player and they will tell you how it affects their joints and hurts their feet. -

So they’re going to switch back to turf after Chelsea? -
Kurt Warner on The Herd, talking about our new QB.

USA Today Sports At just 6’2”, Corral is considered a bit smaller than the prototypical NFL signal caller. His slight stature has not impacted his ability to throw the deep though, as he has shown above-average arm strength completing multiple passes well over 30 yards in the air. Corral often used play-action to set up these bombs and completed them at the second-highest rate of all FBS quarterbacks (48%). Scouts like his ability to make quick decisions and his knack for ball retention, as he would prefer to take a sack than force up a potential interception. There’s also the following quote to consider from an NFL scout. According to NFL.com, one AFC team’s scouting director believes that “Corral is a better pure quarterback than either [Pickett or Willis].” Corral’s ability to use his feet, like Wilson, is also of note. -

He has a pretty good track record at evaluating QBs coming out of the draft. -
We’re bad but we’re nowhere near the worst. ESPN sucks

It seems like a common sense statement, but a recent interview by Scott Fitterer and the tone in which he talks about the best players getting to play regardless of any other factors such as pay or seniority is truly hopeful. It also signals that Scott has been anointed to have full control of the roster in all but the title as Rhule may stil have "final say", but given his failure in this area and being on the hot seat, I think he's deferring to Scott more than anyone realizes.

I like these guys and they’re spot on.

It doesn’t help that offensive line is allowed to hold on almost every play in pass protection, not being able to hit receivers when they’re “defenseless”, bullshit defensive holding and PI calls.
-
My lack of belief in Rhule has nothing to do with the roster or even who plays QB. It’s about his inability to develop players, atrocious game planning and game management, dishonesty and lack of respect he has for his players, and the culture of accountability that he hasn’t been able to instill, because he is ironically the least accountable. If he won just one more game but he showed command of these areas, I would actually give him a pass. I hope he proves me wrong but if he doesn’t learn from his mistakes and starts throwing people under the bus, he should be canned after this year.

What Are The Chances that Christian McCaffrey Stays Healthy?
NAS replied to Pantha-kun's topic in Carolina Panthers
You suck at polls. Why not just do a range of 4 or 5 choices instead of 13! -
Rhule at yesterday’s press conference when asked about the Sean Peyton report “With regards to that report, first I heard of it was Dave called me and told me that it was going to come out,” Rhule said. “They had called him, that there was nothing to it. I know Dave Tepper well enough to believe he wouldn’t be talking to another coach right now. He came to my house two-and-a-half years ago and told me this is a five-year rebuild. That’s what he said to me. He convinced me then to come be a part of it and build it with him. We’re not where we want to be. I don’t think it’s gonna take five years, I don’t want it to take five years, but those are the words he said to me.” I get that it takes time to build a team for sustainable success, but if he thinks he has 5 years regardless, he is just delusional. You have to show incremental progress and especially that you are capable of learning from your mistakes, getting better as a coach and developing your players. If he loses rhe locker room with college antics like DBO, Tepper will have no choice but to fire him.

Jumping rope is great for footwork and cardio / conditioning.

Exactly and got criticized for it. I think the new Tepper is trying to show restraint to act less impulsively. I truly think he will want to make sure Rhule gets the full 3 years.
-
I don't see Tepper pulling the trigger until the end of the season.
-
I think this is a critical year for CMC. He needs to prove that he can stay healthy and that can only be accomplished with a lighter load. He'll need to accept that he doesn't have to carry the team. Having a better offensive line will hopefully mean he can be utilized more effectively and use Chuba for 30 - 40% of the carries, especially short yardage situations.

They reached out to the Panthers but were told he isn’t available per Adam Caplan

The stiffest wide receiver i have ever seen. It was shocking how slow his release was and change of direction. His one good season was all because of Cam
-
Maybe but the buck stops with him..

His failure as a head coach is not just about the QB or offensive line. Look at the lack of player development across the last two draft classes. Even Jeremy Chinn seems to have regressed last year compared to his rookie year.
