  1. Would be a great time for a purported $30MM a year player to appear and make a splash play in this close game.
  2. What is this BS play calling? Grow a pair, Reich.
  3. There can be more than one problem, and/problems that compound other problems.
  4. Kid has a soccer game at 3 (central time) and the rest of the family will likely want to watch the Chiefs game so no, probably not much of it if any at all.
  5. How did it work out in reality? It didn't, and doesn't for other teams either. Who cares what the stats appear to say when the actual results speak way louder.
  6. The whole point though is that passing stats don't tell the whole story, and Bridgewater looked like that everywhere regardless of scheme. Even Brees couldn't make it work once his arm started fading in 2013 or so. It's not a vaiable NFL approach, full stop.
  7. That's yards per attempt, which factors in YAC. His intended air yards per attempt, aka average depth of target, was 27th in the league and his YAC was top third, inflating that number greatly. Point being that they got some yards, sure, but we saw how defenses collapsed in on the scheme as games and the season wore on; it's no coincidence that only 2 of his 15 passing TDs were in the second half of games, both of which came before week 4 and 1 of those was that missed tackle on Robbie in Week 1. I can't stand Bridgewater's gutless QB play so I acknowledge that fact, but a downfield-impotent scheme doesn't cut it in today's NFL. It's a big reason why Brees and the Saints got close but never got back over the hump even though he piled up stats - they couldn't take advantage of big-play opporrtunities downfield in closely-contested games.
  8. Huh. Who could've seen this coming with the Reich hire? ... In all seriousness I hope things still start clicking, as there is plenty of time left in the season, but this scenario was always far and away the most realistic and likely one.
  9. On top of that, it's really impossible to know just how much he was actually responsible for prior to Rhule's departure. I'm of the opinion that he did little in 2021 but was in a much more prominent role for 2022, and is now a traditional GM with all such accoutability.
  10. Burns was 1 v 1 most of the game. I'm not sayiing he didn't have an impact becuase he did, if only under the surface since it wasn't on the stat sheet, but the Saints were not generally dedicating extra blockers to him.
  11. FWIW you forgot Ryan Kalil in 2007. Pretty good pick.
  12. Hate/haters/hating/etc in this context is just the stupidest term out there right now. Nothing you said was anything other than straight observation, and it's an unfortunately-predictable citcumstance the team is in at the moment.
  13. Still way too early to know anything for sure but dropping the capital Carolina did to take a guy that takes time to top out at top 20 QB status would be a hard pill to swallow.
  14. What is the point of your initial post though? The offense has been utter trash for 5 weeks now, so there is obviously something not up to par. You seem to be calling out that the offense is underperforming compared to other teams with rookies and I agree, along with the reality that the entire staff and offensive skill talent has been rebuilt. It's the literal definition of a rebuilding year.
  15. You seem to be completely ignoring the brand new staff, new schemes, entirely new skill position starters, and things of that nature in an attempt to be snarky/edgy but those things factor in too. If other teams have those things too then it's possible either Carolina's staff sucks, the rookies suck, or some combination thereof. Either way, your comment shines light on problems in Carolina, not with such posters.
  16. Yeah, that drive was more about the Saints inexplicably calling off the dogs than the Panthers overcoming defensive resistance. It did look nice though and is perhaps a stepping stone.
  17. Yup, I made the same observation in the game thread. Might continue to develop but right now, absolutely zero threat to the defense.
  18. First time I've heard the $30MM dollar man's name tonight.
  19. The effort and execution looks exactly the same. Shocking, I know, that the team looks overall the same as they did in preseason thus far.
  20. It's very reminiscent of the 2010 offense.
