  1. I recall the early(ish) days of social media as fun and fairly lighthearted, circa 2000 -2007. However, that was when FB started with ads, and it's been all downhill from there.
  2. If it's not a bit component of the offense and/or they feel the other traits are better, why not? Every player has strengths and weaknesses, just a matter of picking the most workable combo thereof. For the record I am completely neutral between the two QBs being discussed here.
  3. The other coaches are in no way relevant because Ron was/is objectively mediocre on his own, full stop. Dude rode elite talent in Cam and Luke and would have been nowhere without them. It is what it is. Also, Fox was closer to winning the Super Bowl and made it to the NFCCG in 2005 as well. More success than Ron.
  4. Which has zero relevance to anything in this conversation.
  5. That overall look is the definition of 'trying too hard'.
  6. We doing domestic abuser defensive ends again?
  7. It can be, and is, deficiency on the part of all parties named. Ron is a great human being who is a talented-but-flawed coach that nets out to average. It is what it is.
  8. I mean, if some random anonymous college "decision-maker" possibly said it then it has to be true.
  9. Some things aren't complicated though. For example, watching Chinn as a rookie and then as a safety these past two years clearly shows what his strengths are. Comparing those strengths with what positions such as 3-4 LBs, as one example, are required to do (take on tackles on the edge, shed linemen head on/sift through trash in the middle) makes it pretty easy to see that such a role (LB) likely wouldn't be his forte. Chinn exceled in space as a 4-3 WLB/Joker/SS type role as players like TD did before him, with TD being a great 4-3 WLB/nickel sub-LB after he gained some weight. If this defense can use him that way then excellent.
  10. Which fits just fine with what I said, as none of it is untrue.
  11. I hate to say it but unless they're going to Joker/SS him, I agree. He operates best in space near the line and that ain't a 3-4 LB's role unless they're running a lot of under and he'll be the backside guy, but even then that's a lot of trash to wade through. He's still a valuable sub LB/Joker in nickel/dime, but that seems like a waste of talent to eliminate his utility a good portion of the time.
  12. I'd love to know for sure how much of these deals, and Gilmore too, was Fitt and how much was Rhule. We never will though.
  13. I see Lamar is a graduate of the Josh Norman School of Bag Pursuit.
  14. I'm confident there is no way Carolina does this deal in a way that they could actually come out worse in the draft unless there is some other factor involved as well.
  15. People who prefer one player over another or have their own concerns are not automatically 'haters'. That's just a stupid overused term, like saying that people supporting a Burns trade were 'hating', or that people who had concerns about Rhule/insert legitimately-concerning player or coach here were 'hating', ad nauseam. Before I myself get accused of 'hating', I really couldn't care less about college football and have total neutrality in the discussion. There are obvious items that are fair game to discuss though, like that smaller players in general may sometimes get injured more easily, that it's may be kind of weird when a guy doesn't do certain things at the combine/workouts, that Ohio State and many other big program QBs have historically tended to fail in the NFL, etc.
  16. Slower than pre-Achilles Dante, faster than Derek Brown.
