  1. 2012 Saints gave up the most yards on record. Somewhere north of 7000 total yards. We aren't on track to beat that, yet.
  2. It will almost exclusively be candidates with little experience that are being attracted and sold on the unique opportunity to be a real NFL team executive! This was very much the case with the Raiders as Old Man Davis went around the bend, and probably still is the case.
  3. The value that makes a left tackle a premium position is that he is seen as the protector of the quarterback's blind side. It was a very Panthers thing to do to draft a left tackle that had a known deficiency in pass protection. He has been better than last year, so far. The line as a whole as been better so far too. I do think he has been miscast a little as a left tackle. Maybe he gets a shot on the right side at some point. He does mostly well in run blocking assignments.
  4. Saints look very ordinary and completely mortal when we aren't the opponent.
  5. I like Belichick as part of the Manningcast. He is kind of the cranky old dude with the occasional zinger, like commenting on the Colts piping in noise at the RCA Dome.
  6. But we got to draft a guy we thought the Cowboys wanted! Ha Ha, Jerry Jones. Go suck an egg! Of course, we are like the only team in the league that is stupid enough to use high picks on running backs anymore. But we got him, and to top it off he was injured, we knew he wasn't able to play, and we took him anyway. How do you like them apples, Jerry Jones? It is just so hard to see why we have such a terrible roster.
  7. Many years back I heard Colin Cowherd arguing whether or not Mario Williams was worthy of being the #1 pick in that year's upcoming draft. His take was he didn't know how good he might really be, because Williams played in the ACC, and got his stats by playing against the Georgia Techs and NC States of college football. The local guys don't get the exposure though, they don't have the platform. When the day comes, however far down the line, when we are good again, it will be met with disbelief and disdain.
  8. You know it's bad when we are wondering if Daniel Jones and Zach Wilson might be available next year. The horrifying part is they would be tremendously better options than putting Bust Young on the field again.
  9. So, there is a tendency to be a bit of an echo chamber here. The easy national narrative that we did Bust Young wrong is going to come right back into focus as this season goes on. As I write out this reply, the pregame folks on NBC are having a hearty laugh while showing a sign at the Bears game today, and I think Garrett mentions that the Bears get the 2nd round pick this year too. Har har. We are in a poo situation. Only 12 more losses to go.
  10. Just saw this on FB. An alternative take.
  11. I have no idea how they justify putting Bust Young back on the field. Even in an injury situation. He should be #3 right now. There was a tiny bit of expectations about Dalton after the Raiders game. The win felt good, so there's that, but there was a little bit of maybe they can win 6 or so more games. It wasn't just here though.
  12. Absolutely, and honestly Watson played a minimal role in them making the playoffs last year. We dodged a bullet on that, but we were ready, willing and eager to be the butt of that joke as well, until it moved to the 100% guarantee.
  13. That is very fair. I'm not trying to sound negative on Dalton, I do think he is washed at this point, and he didn't really elevate any of the team to overcome or mitigate some of those negatives either.
  14. The Browns have been to the playoffs more recently.
  15. Brian St. Pierre doing anything? Bust Young doesn't need to be out there ever again. The only *good* that will come from him is losing enough to get the #1 pick again. Dalton might still have a win or 2 in him.
  16. I would tend to agree. The awesome part is really, of the 3 premium positions, QB, LT and pass rusher, we have no standouts.
  17. Is there a player/position on the team that should not be considered for an upgrade? Maybe guard? I guess we can hang our hat on that spot.
  18. Atlanta hasn't had a pass rush in a long time. Beasley had 1 really good year, their Superbowl run I think. Otherwise..nothing.
  19. Probably so. He was completely ineffective though. Maybe it was still something from the shoulder injury. Does not matter at all now. I remember talking to a friend that offseason, and since all the speculation was he was coming here, I said he would instantly be the 3rd best Panthers qb ever. Ironically, we have seen much worse now.
  20. I really thought Mayfield would work out here. I guess whatever bad mojo is here was too much to overcome.
  21. RE: our uniforms. I agree. But I also think it is past time for a redesign, and then we would have a real throwback. The creamsicle Bucs uniforms were a joke. Now they are a retro treat.
  22. Falcons are wearing their throwbacks tonight. I guess that explains the "vintage" appearance of their field logo and end zones. I shouldn't laugh. It took them 50 years to have back-to-back winning seasons. Here we are with the count already up to 30 seasons.
  23. I don't like the Bucs. But I don't hate them either. They are a very good road game to attend. I have to admire them for being a shitty franchise like we are, but they have overcome it and won 2 Superbowls now. So maybe there is hope for us still.
  24. I hate Atlanta. So I will watch just to see them lose.
