  1. I recall pretty big rain during the '95 Clemson season versus..... the Bears? We were pretty drenched for that one too. Tried to find photos of how bad it was (wasn't as bad as that Saints deluge) -- but I stumbled upon this *FANTASTIC* read: https://www.si.com/nfl/2016/02/04/nfl-oral-history-1995-carolina-panthers
  2. Bah. I *also* picked the 'Thers to win the NFC South. (then again, I do that about this time every year.)
  3. we wouldn't, since we're home on the 2nd game of that stretch
  4. and the games will be simulcast in local markets, so no requirement to have Prime there.
  5. Courtesy of SportsMediaWatch. Disclaimer: all games/times/channels subject to change and local broadcast availability. Flexible scheduling will be in play, especially towards the end of the season for teams that are in playoff contention. 9/11 1p: Browns @ Panthers -- CBS 9/18 1p: Panthers @ Giants -- FOX 9/25 1p: Saints @ Panthers - FOX 10/2 4p: Cardinals @ Panthers - FOX 10/9: 4p: 49ers @ Panthers - CBS 10/16: 4p: Panthers @ Rams - FOX 10/23 1p: Bucs @ Panthers - FOX 10/30 1p: Panthers @ Falcons - FOX 11/6 1p: Panthers @ Bengals - FOX 11/10 8p: Falcons @ Panthers - AMAZON PRIME (simulcast in CAR and ATL, check local listings) 11/20 1p: Panthers @ Ravens - FOX 11/27 1p: Broncos @ Panthers - FOX 12/11 4:25p: Panthers @ Seahawks - FOX 12/17 1p, 430p, and 8p games TBD -- NFL Network 12/18 1p: Steelers @ Panthers - CBS 12/24 1p: Lions @ Panthers - FOX 1/1 1p: Panthers @ Bucs - FOX 1/8 TBD : Panthers @ Saints - Network TBD
  6. SAM MILLS FIELD at [INSERT SPONSOR NAME HERE] stadium
  7. https://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs03/news/story?id=1710458 Expires with the end of the 2023 season, if math is correct
  8. epi 2 was setting up the political conflict (SEA SNAKE!) that will lead to the eventually downfall of the targareans over the next 200 years. I suspect that later this season when we get the older Raeygan vs her former-best-friend, things will pick up significantly. But so far? Like what they've done with the place
  9. @toldozer there are physical limitations to battery technology and energy storage techniques. Yes, a battery might be charged to 80%, but aside from that not being 100%, there are safety and heat issues to consider. Time and research would be better spent in making battery usage more efficient with the devices/vehicles using them, along with changing todays technology perception of whether a battery needs to go in everything in general. (Not everything needs to be turned into a smart device, is the point here) Battery tech hasn't changed much in the past 50 years. You can shove more kwh down the pipe to be able to produce stories like you've shared... but physical battery energy storage has its own limitations
  10. some new homes are. Or at least ensuring a dedicated line of appropriate size from the panel to the garage can be installed at a later time.
  11. 2-3 minutes for a car-sized battery to recharge is physically impossible
  12. sadly, that's probably about the same result.
  13. yeah, a lot of E-BIKES in Europe do this too. it helps that those have mainly standarized a bit.
  14. I know that there's at least one Huddler here with more accurate Vegas information and hope they'll chime in. For winning the super bowl: WYNN = 90/1 CAESARS = 125/1 If Baker can make it happen, then that's a nice payback on a $10 investment.
  15. Plenty of Riot shirts in that clip. 36% odds may be low.
  16. Mr Excel was the color commentary. The ESPN broadcast showed one of the three rounds; it focused on calculating how many points different spins of a free, online slot-machine-like game would generate for players. Diarmuid took a commanding lead in the first slot-like task, racking up more points more quickly in a first round than anyone has in an FMWC competition. Others faced the kinds of challenges that regular users see in less combative Excel work. Polish competitor Gabriela Strój told the hosts that "one stupid error"—leaving a formula linked to the wrong sheet—likely cost her hundreds of points. David Brown from the US said that his major problem was pasting from his 32-bit Windows-based Excel to the official online Excel answer sheets, which left his formulas treated as text.
  17. Let ESPN have some fun and showcase "fun" once in a while. They even aired a Microsoft Excel programming competition for some weird reason.
  18. Apparently the QWC folks are moving away from the word "Quidditch" due to ongoing Rowling controversy that we don't need to discuss here.
  19. Players already have to pay taxes to multiple states, as each state can tax the players for playing in the local stadium. New York and California are notorious for this. Unsure if SC would follow NY's stance of "if you work in the state, you pay taxes to the state", even if you live in (let's say) Pennsylvania.
  20. The CORGI RACES were fantastic. But they were in Seattle, not Rock Hill. Was curious how Rock Hill got onto ESPN's radar to host these things at all -- but would be super-curious if any of it was related to the financing debacle. Did any of these events get promotional support locally? The crowds looked rather sparse.
  21. Sir Purr and at least two Top Cats appeared at ESPN's coverage of the Slippery Stairs championship in Rock Hill. Also in Rock Hill - the freestyle pogo-stick competition POGOPALOOZAAnd now, reading the Yahoo news article -- it sounds like Rock Hill had a ton more exposure on The Ocho than just the two events I skimmed through. Everything from Cornhole to All-Star Air Guitar. https://www.yahoo.com/video/breakdancing-slippery-stairs-yes-dodgeball-213244802.html Imagine how big these'd be if they were hosted at the Panthers facility.
