  1. that's why I threw "individual" into the subject line. The owner group for the Commanders and the Broncos combined have more money than Tepp.
  2. Jeff Bezos is looking to sell $5b of Amazon shares -- speculation is that he'll use that money to buy the Seattle Seahawks There is a chance that might fall through even if the owners approve the deal, as Bezos is still on the board at Amazon, and Amazon has NFL broadcast rights. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jeff-bezos-sell-5-billion-185303024.html
  3. Today is National Bikini Day. Celebrate appropriately
  4. Rumor is that with the current decision, each individual team will need to pony up $440m for their individual part. If so, it'll be easier for some teams to do than others I say that the NFL should look at the data and prorate each team's portion. "Your games were only watched by 6% of the Sunday Ticket fans? You get to pay less than this other team that was watched by 30% of Sunday Ticket fans" https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/in-sunday-ticket-case-some-owners-might-have-a-hard-time-coming-up-with-440-million
  5. Supposedly, subscribers could get $340 for each season they purchased Sunday Ticket (assuming the ruling doesn’t get overturned or reduced through an appeal)
  6. Christian and Olivia have gotten married , after starting dating in 2019. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/lifestyle-news/christian-mccaffrey-marries-olivia-culpo-1235935693/
  7. So for those of us who would love a Panthers-only Sunday Ticket offer... this was the first thing on the list that needed to happen
  8. The plaintiffs insist NFL teams pooling their broadcasts through the Sunday Ticket, which is available through YouTube TV for $349/year (or less with discounts), violated antitrust law. The ruling could compel major changes to the league’s broadcasting arrangements, which last year accounted for 93 of the year’s 100 most-watched TV broadcasts in the U.S The NFL plans to appeal the ruling, which found the league liable for $4.7 billion to the residential class of plaintiffs and $96 million to the commercial class. The NFL also warned that if teams were compelled to compete in the licensing of out-of-town broadcasts, it would diminish the number of televised games available to fans. While the Sunday Ticket carries a cost, it ensures that fans can watch any game on TV regardless of their location in the U.S. If out-of-town fans were instead reliant on their favorite team finding a broadcast partner, some could lose TV access to certain games. In addition to appealing, the NFL will need to consider new broadcasting arrangements that feature teams competing in the sale of broadcasts. The league has maintained that consumers will be worse off without the Sunday Ticket but has economic incentives to ensure the NFL continues its broadcasting dominance—even if that means exploring new ways of teams televising games to out-of-town fans. https://www.sportico.com/law/analysis/2024/nfl-sunday-ticket-trial-decision-1234785934/
  9. appalling? appealling? the difference an "e" can make
  10. ChatGPT suggested this. --- **Title:** "Christmas Playbook: Love on the Field" **Synopsis:** When big-city sports journalist Emily Turner is assigned to cover the Carolina Panthers' holiday charity events, she's less than thrilled. Eager to secure a promotion, she heads to Charlotte, North Carolina, determined to get the job done and return to New York before Christmas. Upon arrival, Emily is paired with Ben Harris, the Panthers' charming PR manager and former player, who is passionate about giving back to the community. As they collaborate on a series of festive events, including a toy drive, holiday dinner for underprivileged families, and a Christmas Eve game, Emily begins to see the true spirit of the season. As she spends more time with Ben and the Panthers, Emily's skepticism melts away, and she starts to fall for both the team and the city. Ben, meanwhile, is captivated by Emily's intelligence and determination. However, Emily's career ambitions and a surprise job offer from New York threaten to pull her away just as she begins to realize where her heart truly belongs. In the heartwarming finale, during a spectacular Christmas Eve game, Emily faces a choice: chase her big-city dreams or embrace a new path filled with love, community, and the magic of Christmas with the Carolina Panthers. "Christmas Playbook: Love on the Field" is a delightful blend of festive cheer, sports excitement, and a love story that will warm your heart this holiday season.
  11. On the heels of todays announcement of the KC Chiefs partnering with Hallmark for a Chiefs-themed christmas movie... What would your proposed Panthers' xmas themed movie be? https://people.com/tyler-hynes-hunter-king-lead-hallmark-and-kansas-city-chiefs-christmas-movie-8668957
  12. there's also a functional difference in design of enclosed/domed stadiums vs pure outdoor venues outside of southern california
  13. The Braves got a new ballpark with the 96 Olympics, moved out in 2017 to a different new ballpark. A solid 20-year run there
  14. Met him twice, for a grand total of maybe 15s of interaction time, if that He was kinda not pleasant. Not mean, but not great either. Mrs Tepper, on the other hand, was super nice.
  15. 30m is better than the 90m from ATL. (And driving south afterwards is hecka easier than driving north)
  16. he didn't seem to be in the draft planning meetings... so that's good.
  17. I don't recall lots of video of Tep talking to each player as they drafted 'em. Looked like it was all D&D doing the chatter. If true, then definitely better than previous seasons' antics
  18. What bothered me was the "what type of guys are we looking for" conversation. I didn't get anything that wasn't obvious. "We need a player that can block". Ok -- don't we look for that every year? I hope the stuff they cut out of the vid were things about WHY they felt a specific player met certain criteria that might be considered proprietary to our 2024 overall plan
  19. I have no issue with the team owner being in the room during Draft Day. The improvement on the tape looked like the Tepps were not involved beyond casual conversations. It really looked like Dan and friends were running the show
  20. the NFL wants to expand teams, not move teams (despite what's going on with Jacksonville -- and there's no way the Jags would pour that much $ into renovating their stadium if they're going to relocate to London as has long been rumored)
  21. He has been surprisingly quiet since Dan/Dave took over. It's been nice
  22. If I'm interpreting this correctly, the breakout makes sense: Column 3, things the Owner/team wants: better locker room, front office space. Premium spaces and club level that match what people are spending. Better press facilities because a happy press is a friendly press Column 2, things that benefit both the team and the city: an event pavilion, making the place look nice Column 1, things that make the city look good: better outside, better restrooms/security, a CITY VIEW from the stadium, improvements for the guest experience
  23. Some Pizza Huts still have the buffet. You just need to know where to look https://thebullamarillo.com/ixp/179/p/amarillo-pizza-hut-bringing-back-the-good-ol-days/
  24. From the "Good News, Bad News" department: Tuesday will give players a tour of Allianz Arena, home of November's game, before hosting an event at Pizza Hut.
