  1. Great point, plus I think in regards to our historically bad run defense they fit very well. They are both in the Greg Rousseau elite run defending mold.
  2. Given our recent history with drafting athletes over production I genuinely would not blame you.
  3. Shemar Stewart is probably the most controversial pick the Panthers could make, I think the huddle would explode if we did end up taking him. But, honestly I would be in support of taking him especially in a trade down or even with the 8th pick. I just made a video about my thoughts on him, feel free to watch if you have some spare time. Anyways, LFG DRAFT DAY IS HERE KEEP POUNDING!!
  4. I like it, what positions would you be targeting between the first two rounds?
  5. Yeah very well said, I think the reports coming out that we’re looking to trade back reflects some internal conflict on who we should draft. Call me crazy but I don’t think Jalon is a lock at 8, I think they have a multitude of guys with near identical grades.
  6. Exactly, I feel like 8 is one of the hardest picks in the draft. There’s no clear cut BPA, rather an abundance of similarly talented players at different positions.
  7. Exactly Mike Green would be an amazing pick if he didn’t have all the off the field issues. Dude is a true pass rusher, gonna put up 10+ sacks yearly in his prime.
  8. It’s pick 8, nobody is trying to trade up and you’re forced to make a pick. The board has fallen like this: #1- Cam Ward #2- Travis Hunter #3- Abdul Carter #4- Will Campbell #5- Ashton Jeanty #6- Mason Graham #7- Armand Membou Who do you draft and why?
  9. This is a great post, love to hear a discussion on our needs with great analysis. Props to you man, been carrying the huddle this offseason with your posts! Appreciate you my man
  10. Coming off an injury, character issues, horrible contract, high trade cost
  11. Patriots please come in and steal this guy PLEASE
  12. Haven’t gotten to his tape yet, what are some key things you like about Mason Taylor? All I know is he is Jason Taylor’s son.
  13. Yeah, traditional media is going to pump him up heavily. Media tends to be overly reactionary, NFL front offices already knew how freaky of an athlete Shemar was. Same situation of elite traits and poor production will carry his draft conversation. All it takes is one team to fall in love with the potential, Travon Walker went 1st overall off his traits. If there is one position I value traits more then others it is DE, to survive in the NFL you need a blend of length, size, explosiveness and bend which is Shemar to a tee. People will ding him for his production which is valid, but give me Shemar over a production merchant in college football who has little to no NFL traits and can’t survive. Plus at the very worst Shemar is already a great run defender.
  14. Great post, Shemar is definitely a player I think our front office is going to scout and consider heavily. If we could trade back to the 14-18 range and add a few picks in the draft I would be pumped.
  15. Very true, it can be very confusing to convert someone who runs a traditional 4-3 role to 3-4, take a player like Shemar Stewart in this draft in college he was listed at 281-290 lb in college. Now he comes into the combine at 267 lbs, he went from 3-4 base DE size to more 3-4 OLB size. I’m not totally sure where to project him for us, but I totally agree 4-2-5 has been becoming increasingly popular. I wish we would run more Cover-1, Evero having our corners 10 yards off the WR and watching screen plays and short passes shred all all season is just dumb. Especially with Jaycee being an ideal press coverage guy, I wish Evero would adjust the defense to his players skillsets and not force them into his.
  16. I hear you brother thank you, I should have specified more. Personally, I miss when we used to run a 4-3, especially with the run game returning in the past few years.
  17. Not sure what you mean? Every defensive personnel lineup requires at least two DTS not even counting depth or additional DTS for different packages.
  18. Let’s talk about it, what’s your reasoning?
  19. Well said man, signing a stud DT would allow us to take true BPA across the draft. Plus I’m tired of paying old players on a rebuilding team, sign young proven guys. Add up all the dead weight contracts we have signed over the past few years, Shy Tuttle, Hayden Hurst, Von Bell, Ian Thomas etc and we could have signed atleast a few really solid guys, we gotta stop beating bin hunting these overpriced vets.
  20. In my eyes Milton Williams should be our #1 option going into free agency. We’re coming off the worst defensive season in NFL history, FYI to the casuals we’re not signing Tee Higgins. We allowed 3057 yards rushing last season, we all witnessed Shy Tuttle getting bullied game after game. Yes, Derrick Brown is coming back next season, but we do not have another even JAG level DT. In my eyes it is a top 3 need, the ability to pair Derrick Brown with a true 3 tech would completely alter the makeup of this defense. It’s rare to find a gem like Milton hit the open market, if it wasn’t for the eagles being so talented on the DLINE and having to retain multiple starters, this type of guy would never in any other circumstance hit the open market. Key Facts: -Only 25 years old -12.8% pass rush win rate(6th highest for a DT in 2024) -Natural fit next to Derrick Brown -Freak of freaks athlete What do you say fellow huddlers?
