    I think he got the GM selection right - just a year too late. IMO Tepper’s 1st mistake was not getting rid of Hurney along with Rivera. If he had, we’d have probably gone a different direction with our HC search and who knows what would happen. We’re here now.

    Don’t forget “Jean Fridays” Yeah but by Huddle logic he’s the better owner. There’s no arguing JR’s W/L record and he’ll always have a place in our collective hearts fit bringing the NFL to the Carolinas but Tepper has a ways before he can be dubbed the worse owner in the NFL.

    I heard that but it makes no sense to me. Why would Tepper make that an ultimatum for keeping his job? It would be easier to just fire Rhule and start over. Never heard of a team choosing a HC on the condition of their choice for OC. Sounds like more BS speculation from some talking head. Or maybe it’s true. Either way, I’m not buying it.

    Look on the bright side…if the Texans hire Flores, it we’ll finally be out of the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes.

    I can see the Packers representing the NFC in the SB. It’ll be a toss up in AFC. The League loves a good story, and with the passing of John Madden/John Gruden fiasco and Big Ben’s upcoming retirement, a Raiders-Steelers AFC championship matchup wouldn’t surprise me at all.

    Short answer, no. Too much money on the books to cut ties with Rhule right now. I believe Rhule gets a 3rd year with the understanding that the team must show significant improvement, if not the playoffs, or he’s out. Rhule is not going to take an OC that will make him look over his shoulder.

    That’s nice but for a change I’d like the Panthers to aspire beyond “decent”. He’s got experience so there’s that.

    Good question. Why not just pull the plug on Rhule and start over with a new staff? Seems Tepper is making the same mistakes expecting different results.

    I believe Bouye will be a cap casualty due to the current depth in the secondary. He’s played well when he was on the field which wasn’t too often due to injuries. Give me Horn, Henderson, Gilmore and Taylor. Let’s not forget Stantley-Oliver and Troy Pride coming off IR. Both are decent special teamers and on rookie deals.

    Yeah Okam was unexpected for sure. This was his 1st year as DL coach and it seems unfair as there were bigger problem areas. The Panthers run D needs a full evaluation and perhaps a fresh perspective is needed there.

    I respectfully disagree. I remember him accompanying one of the former players during a press conference on prison reform when he first got here. The numerous charities and causes he’s supported probably wouldn’t happen if he was a racist. Maybe I’ve missed something but What I’ve seen and read speaks otherwise.

    Flores won’t be unemployed long. If the Giants ditch the Judge, you can expect he’ll be on the short list of names as a replacement.

    Probably not the only reason but a factor I’m sure. Seen this play out too often to think otherwise.

    This is about money plain and simple. Giving up on a HC that’s after two years on a seven year contract is an expensive mistake. Better to give him another year on the condition of changes to the offensive staff and better FA’s. Not that I completely agree but that’s my take on why Rhule will likely survive Black Monday.

    Kenny Robinson has shown himself more than capable at FS. He deserves a full season as a starter IMO. Drafting a safety in the top ten makes no sense for us with the dire needs at IOL, QB and MLB.

    Don’t see us taking Willis over Howell. The Steelers are rumored to be interested in Howell and if that’s the case, I’m hoping we can facilitate a trade with them for extra picks this year and next, which we could ideally use to shore up IOL and MLB. We can focus on QB next year after we rebuild the rest of the roster. JMO

    I agree. Outside of Reddick and Luvu (and only if we can afford them), I can’t see any of them coming back. We need to commit to a full rebuild if we’re ever going to have a consistently winning team.
