Panthers win against the Saints historic
45catfan replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hey, we don't have to wait until 275 games like this are played before we best the highly improbable again. Or do we??? -
Can't afford to let him sink, we have to get something out of him in a trade. Hopefully Dalton's thumb is good to go next week just in case.
-
Keep starting him until he starts to suck. Then bench him immediately before he can tank his trade value. The past two weeks he probably has increased his trade value by two rounds.

That's the reason in probability it's always 1:some number. See even sh*tty teams have a chance. -
Yup, he ain't the future, so hopefully some team buys into this "resurgence" nonsense and we can fleece them in a trade.
-
Saints were the 32nd team in defense, we were 31st. We managed 23 points versus the worst defense in the League in our house. Hang the banner and hand out those rings!!!!!

I mean, it's like a long dry steak for a dude and you finally nail a 4 thinking she was like a 10.
-
Eh, I'm not sold on Morgan as a legit GM, yet. I want to see at least one more offseason. Right now, he's batting .500 to me. Not great, not horrible.
-
Dude's future is as a backup. These are backup QB stats. We played a team as banged up, as depleted and as sorry as us today. Home field was the deciding factor. If this game was in New Orleans, they probably would have won.
-
Please, no. I'm good with #3.
-
At least we are not alone now.
-
I don't want #1, so good. We beat an awful team.
-
Not that it mattered, but we got away with a pretty blatant hold.
-
Not a Bryce fan, but that one is not on him.
-
Short field, practically in FG range already. If we come up empty on this drive, there's little hope staying in this game.
-
Defense has held the Saints to two FGs and Bryce struggling to move this offense...again. Don't worry, he'll get that garbage time TD against prevent coverage, though.

Trade back is the only option, if we can find a trading partner. I love the Raiders. They are as desperate for a QB as we were in 2023. We can be the Bears in this scenario and they can be the suckers--Panthers. I played around in a mock (not posting it) but we can rebuild this defense and get a couple more weapons for the offense with a trade down at the top of the board.

Oh yeah, I told y'all to pump the breaks on Carson Beck. If dude can't produce at Georgia unless it's a way inferior opponent, imagine him on a horrible team...say, like the Panthers. I get it, after dealing with a half-pint QB, we see a 6-4" signal caller and get all excited. Dude is middling as it gets though.

With NIL, juniors are less likely to declare. If they are not projected as a first rounder and could be in a year, then why come out if you are already being paid in college? Maybe one or two of the top underclassman QBs come out this year, the rest will return. Milore might be the only one.

With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!

Ewers in last year's draft would have been QB7 and a second rounder. With a few teams definitively in the QB market and as small of a pool as the top-tier QB talent is this coming draft, there's no way he falls to the second round. Not unless the wheels come completely off or he's injured. He's absolutely going to be QB2 or QB3 and a first rounder. That said, I only project 3 QBs going in round one right now depending on which juniors declare. -

The Lions were already building and traded for Goff. I kinda get where you are going, but apples and oranges scenarios. We suck, no need to mince words. Ward would be a rookie, we wouldn't be getting him a couple of years into his career after development. -

So all QBs that fail are idiots? -

It's been a while if you are talking #1 overall. The reason for that is teams picking #1 are generally VERY BAD. Take this team for instance. They have to spend the majority of the poor guys rookie contract to build the rest of the team around him. By that time, the guy is wrecked mentally, injured or both. -

I really like Nico. Yeah, he's fallen off of late after a pretty hot start. Manning can beat out Ewers. Ewers is a RSR and "senior" to Manning and Arch isn't forcing the issue. Arch could easily have transferred and started just about anywhere, but he chose to wait knowing Ewers is gone after this year. There's several other juniors that will likely come back too that are promising, but aren't quite there yet. Right now I rank the QBs: Ward, Ewers and Sanders. I wouldn't even entertain the idea of taking another QB in the first round. That said, all 3 have their issues, Ward being the most complete. I view him as mid-tier QB in the pros. The other two are boom or bust prospects in the pros. Well, not so much boom as middling or bust. -

Except I've been right on this. Personally, I wanted to skip that class for this '24 class. I even said 6 QBs would be taken in the first round and nobody believed me. A good QB crop hits every other draft or two. It's not an every year proposal. The QB position is to tough to play to churn out great classes year after year, like say, CB. Heck, remember the Kenny Pickett draft? Yeah...so it's even possible to have a draft where ZERO QBs are deserving to be drafted in the first round. We all know Pickett would not have been taken by the Steelers at #19 if he wasn't the hometown hero.
