A Tankathon Approach to the remaining Schedule
jb2288 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's a pretty good comp. I think he has really good extended play making/throwing on run under pressure abilities, but it's hard to make a living on that in the NFL. The one wild card he has going, is he has had access to the best training/coaching/etc. since the day he was born. That has to be a huge advantage. -

I think a lot of it depends on what happens with the Jets. If they move off Rodgers they prob try to keep core players and build from there, but if they keep Rodgers I don't see Garret Wilson staying there another year. We should run to the table with that Rams second and maybe toss in a 2026 5th or something to sweeten the pot and see if they bite. If yes, would be great to be able to use our first on the best defensive player available. -

Ha just for fun going back to 2018 looking at where we picked and how close after us a better player was taken: 2018: DJ at 24. Lamar Jackson at 31 2019: Burns at 16. Jefferey Simmons at 19 2020: Brown at 7. Justin Jefferson at 22 2021: Horn at 8. Debatable here but Surtain at 9 (Parsons at 12) 2022: Icky at 6. Cross at 9 (still can't believe in a pass happy league we didn't draft the multi year SEC starter who comes from the air raid and gave like 2 pressures up his whole career. easy layup, thanks Fitt) 2023: nope not doing it 2024: XL at 32. Ladd at 34. (still too early to tell for sure, but based on 1 season) That being said, just go win. Whoever we theoretically draft at pick 5, there will prob be a better player at 9 we could take. It's probably 75% luck -

I agree, winning is more important. This draft also feels like 2021 for some reason to me where it'll be a few teams drafting unworthy QBs higher than they should go and pushes some really good players in that 5-15 range. 2021 had the following guys 5-15: Chase, Waddle, Sewell, Horn, Surtaine, Devonta Smith, Slater, and Parsons. Just a ridiculous amount of talent pushed down from the 3 QBs going early. -
Sure, if that’s your discussion. But it isn’t. You posted that we should not judge Stroud playing the ravens because we would not have fared well against a SB ready team. Well we’ve played 2 and did quite well for where we are as a team. Then you try to rationalize it saying the Chiefs aren’t a great team and were taken to the wire by a bad raiders team. A bad raiders team that beat the Ravens. The chiefs also beat the ravens. You’re obviously an intelligent person which is why people on here occasionally call you out. The only explanation is you have a bias you wont let go that you try to disguise as being some team player shtick.

Have we had any games where XL, Coker, Sander, AT, and Bryce all played together? I wanna see the 3 rookies in that list ball out if our WR/TE room is finally all on the field together.
-
it absolutely blows my mind we had people on here trying to argue last year was more on Bryce than our coaching staff. That dude was freaking calling our plays last year. insane lol
-
He has the physical traits to be a #1, but I do agree with you that after 5 years in college you’re probably about what you are in the NFL. A very solid #2 at pick 32 is fine. If we get a garret Wilson type on the other side he will only look better
-
Ahhh so basically us on offense last year. Know that feeling
-
Damn what has happened to Stroud? Tank Dell that good? I don’t care about the Texans so this is the first time I’ve watched them this year
-
Man we are really playing with fire. AT will be what? 33 next year? He’s great this year no doubt but you hit a wall in the NFL with age and when it comes it hits HARD. XL I’m not writing off but he hasn’t been good this year. Coker, great find by us but he’s a nice complementary piece. we need to look long and hard at trading for garret Wilson or going WR first round

We got a 4th for Mingo, they might give us a second back

I Think We Are Getting Back In The Good Graces of The NFL
jb2288 replied to Butterflyj30's topic in Carolina Panthers
At the end of the day, Tepper is great for the NFL. One of the richest people in the world owning a franchise. If he keeps not meddling like this season he could end up a good owner. Just a shut up and sign the check guy. I think Bryce and XL are both extremely likable and easy to market -
I remember watching him commit live at the army all American game back in the day to Washington. He was a safety then

Choooooo! Panthers locker room after OT win
jb2288 replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That doesn’t make sense in this context -
Who we watching here? Derrick Brown tore his meniscus game 1. 6-9 months he should be good to go Shaq TBD if he will be on the team next year but torn Achilles. 9-12 months and at his age I’ll assume a full year. Prob don’t see him until October if he’s back XL wrist surgery. 10-12 weeks. Should be good for TC but sucks he will miss time he needs to be on the jugs on his own. Tevin Wallace shoulder surgery but I don’t know what for. It doesn’t seem serious so I’ll go 8-12 weeks. Back for TC Corbett TBD if he comes back but torn bicep is a long one. Going to say 10 months. Might be ready for pre season but I doubt it. Brooks is what it is. May not see him until 2026 Corbett and Shaq might not be back. everyone else outside of Brooks looks okay for start of the year. Who else we missing?
