  1. It was unbelievably irresponsible on Tepper's part.
  2. Nah, Brady doesn't bother me. However, his sycophants wanting to retire his jersey number 12 (on every team)? Yeah, that's dumb.
  3. Fun Sunday Night Factoid: Salary cap was first instituted 29 years ago in 1994 @ 34.6 million dollars.
  4. Dumb. How about every team designate a bathroom stall in their locker room "The Brady Bowl" and be done with it? Anyone that cares can "go there" and celebrate.
  5. Russell Wilson seems to have that affect on people.
  6. Tepper seems to be on a winning streak, which is a nice change of pace for Panthers fans. Haven't been this optimistic about the team since our last SB run. Well done DT! Keep up the good work.
  7. Wasn't the initial interview prior to Reich being named HC? If so, what is Frank's role in the hiring of Evero? Does Frank Reich have the final say or is he taking orders from above?
  8. If Tepper has reached this level of NFL enlightenment he is on a faster track than many of his fellow owners. If true, I for one congratulate him.
  9. This is a legitimate concern. Tepper has hopefully learned a lot about who he should be listening to since firing Ron.
  10. It is nice to see Tepper finally using his wealth to bring in some of the best in the business.
  11. Is it even possible (this far into it) that the Raiders management still doesn't realize that they'll never find a team willing to give up picks and take on Carr's 40 million dollar contract? And that in the unlikely event that the Raiders do, Carr is more likely than not to exercise his contractual right to turn down the trade? What were the Raiders even thinking? Cut Carr and move on already.
  12. The fact that Carr has been selected to the Pro Bowl four times during his decade with the highly dysfunctional Raiders speaks well of his ability to block out distractions while performing at a relatively high level. Pairing him with Reich would likely result in Derek putting up career best numbers (just like three starting Colts QBs did while under Frank's tutelage). Also, posters equating Carr's abilities with Panthers QBs of the last 5 years are outing themselves as not having clue as to what they're talking about.
  13. Fangio will OFFICIALLY accept the position after the Super Bowl?
  14. Charlotte Observer May 11, 2089 Today marks the 100 anniversary of Cam Newton's birth. Some Panthers fans on a local forum, The Huddle, are calling for Newton to return as a "bridge" until Carolina finds their next franchise QB. This despite the fact that Cam passed away suddenly at the age of 88 twelve years ago.
  15. This must be a matter of principle with Tepper, because what Rhule is asking for amounts to a relative pittance for someone worth north of 18.5 billion dollars.
  16. Rumor has it that Duce is twice as good as most coaches.
  17. It suggests the Panthers are willing to wait for a chance to target coaches on the Eagles or Chiefs. I'm okay with that.
  18. Kudos to Dave for taking ultimate responsibility for a bad hire. Hate to keep beating up on Marty, but he should have realized after being a GM for two decades that Matt Rhule was a high risk gamble (coming from the college ranks) and not a good fit for a team with a new owner.
  19. Oh, please, don't get my hopes up! That outcome would be excellent!
  20. Yeah, Payton's ship just came in. Cha-Ching! Thanks Walmart!
  21. Yeah, this isn't the time to give up on Corral. If anyone can help him get back on track it is likely Reich. Bring in a vet, draft a QB and coach up Corral. Chances are we'll either have a solid long term backup QB or if the stars align, a QB controversy between TWO or even THREE capable starters! Hey, it's early in the year, a guy can dream can't he?
  22. Gotta tell ya, I'm not at all disappointed about the Panthers "missing out" on Payton. Now, when the Broncos lose will be doubly enjoyable.
  23. To this day I couldn't tell you what Matt Rhule brings to the table as a coach that made him such a hot commodity with some NFL owners. I'm convinced the guy simply had a great press agent that snowed some of the less enlightened sports media talking heads and NFL owners.
