  1. Welp, Rhule is now at the helm of a major college program. He will have every opportunity to prove his critics wrong. My money is still on him turning out to be more conman than coach.
  2. Mmm, I suddenly have a craving for meatballs.
  3. It is hard not to have sympathy for all those who toiled under Matt Rhule's regime. I like to refer to those years as the Dark Ages.
  4. Prior to the age of the internet, ESPN was one of the few ways for sports fans to view game highlights other than evening news broadcasts. All things considered, it is amazing that ESPN has endured as long as it has.
  5. Truth is, ESPN's old business model is broken. The network has been part of most premium cable packages across the nation for decades and subscribers paid for the privilege of having ESPN, whether they watched it or not. Unfortunately for ESPN, over the last several years cable companies have lost more than 25 percent of their subscribers to internet streaming services. Consumers are no longer required to subsidize expensive networks like ESPN that they never watch.
  6. Also, Cam and the Panthers had their best season in 2015 with just a collection of guys. Conclusion: Spreading the ball around isn't a bad thing.
  7. FYI: That quote came from Horn's dating app.
  8. I don't believe so. My understanding is that somewhere along the line the team's uniform provider was incapable of precisely matching the "Panther blue/electric blue/process blue c" but this year's uniforms will finally return to the team's official color. For what it's worth, this is what Google's AI provided: The Carolina Panthers' color is electric blue, which is a shade between neon robin's egg and pastel cerulean. The Panthers' play-by-play announcer, Mick Mixon, refers to it as "Panther blue". The Panthers' logo colors are Carolina blue, black, and silver. The Carolina blue color code is Pantone: PMS PROCESS BLUE C, Hex Color: #0085CA, RGB: (0, 133, 202), CMYK: (100, 10, 0, 5).
  9. Sadly, our society has way too many people wandering the streets these days contending with an untreated mental illness. Ted was only one of millions. As LP mentioned, we are all fortunate that Ted's brother put the safety of his fellow citizens ahead of his brother's continued freedom. Otherwise, chances are good that more innocent lives would have been destroyed. The following are the latest statistics available from the National Institute of Mental Health Disorders, part of the National Institutes of Health: Mental health disorders account for several of the top causes of disability in established market economies, such as the U.S., worldwide, and include: major depression (also called clinical depression), manic depression (also called bipolar disorder), schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. An estimated 26% of Americans ages 18 and older -- about 1 in 4 adults -- suffers from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. Many people suffer from more than one mental disorder at a given time. In particular, depressive illnesses tend to co-occur with substance use and anxiety disorders. Approximately 9.5% of American adults ages 18 and over, will suffer from a depressive illness (major depression, bipolar disorder, or dysthymia) each year. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/mental-health-disorder-statistics Text HOME to 741741 from anywhere in the United States, anytime. 10. Meh, don't sell yourself short dude. Just remember, Matt Rhule was once the head coach of an NFL team. Lacking talent and knowledge are not the impediments some would have you believe during job interviews. A little BS and tasty meatballs can go a long way.
  11. Had this movie recommended to me by a business associate, otherwise I likely would have never watched it. I'm glad that I did.
  12. Reich is like stepping up to a Cadillac Escalade after being locked into three years of inflated payments on a Yugo.
  13. Initial appearances: Win/Win. Both Bears and Panthers improved their situations due to this trade. As you say, we may not know the full implications of the trade for several years, but Panthers fans know this franchise was essentially "dead in the water" without a franchise QB. Bryce Young has given Panthers fans something we haven't had in years, HOPE. That in itself is a big win in my book.
  14. It was definitely disappointing to lose Luke in the prime of his career. Having said that, I sure most of us would agree, it was the right decision to put his health ahead of the game.
  15. Meh, it's been 5 years since Tepper bought the team and he's already on his third head coach. Even from the outside looking in things have been chaotic. Hopefully, third times is a charm and things will begin to settle down in Panthers land.
  16. Looks like someone found the key to the liquor cabinet again.
  17. Lol, if this thread is a contest for who can post the most unpopular opinion(s), I believe we have a winner!
  18. Just as we all suspected. If you can install grass for visiting European Soccer players you can install grass for the Panthers too. Lots of thinly veiled references to David Tepper in the following commentary. Please, do better for your own players and America's youth David Tepper.
  19. Would love to compare the numbers between kickoff related injuries and turf related injuries to determine which category is more detrimental to the players health. I have a sneaky suspicion that the category most responsible for player injuries has yet to be addressed by the owners. Weird.
  20. There is no excuse for not exclusively having natural grass fields in the NFL short of "enough money is never enough" when you're a billionaire owner.
  21. NFL: We took the foot out of football. NFL will now be known as the National Oddball League.
  22. Watched A Man Called Otto on Netflix, which was awesome since I didn't have to buy a ticket or drive to a theater. Having said that, I enjoyed the movie enough that if I had paid to view it in a movie theater it would have still been well worth it. Otto Rating: Two thumbs up.
  23. The inactive roster appears to be a mechanism used to limit player compensation and allow those with minor injuries to have a week or more off to heal up. It would increase gameday flexibility to have everyone healthy enough to play suit up rather than have some sitting on their couches on Sunday. Future contracts could be structured to take into account games where players aren't utilized beyond standing on the sidelines for compensation purposes. An inactive roster could still exist to allow players to heal up for a few weeks or address personal issues if a team chooses to take advantage of it.
