I used to get really into this and then I studied psychology and realized that most people that are fanatics of a team will predict their team to win and play better than the other time. the only fanatics that predict otherwise are solely doing it to cushion the blow of a potential loss, because obviously as a fanatic you want the team to win.

I would also begin questioning the coaching staff, you had a whole offseason with no limitations to game plan and beat one of the worst teams in the league with a rookie QB.

If we lost, the whole Darnold revenge game / Jets ruining him thing would sting and would definitely call for some memes and other trash talk to deal with for the next week. the worst part is that it would feel like we're still a team that people laugh at and aren't intimated by. I'm okay with losses, as long as they come with hard fought wins and toughness.

I wanted to see Darnold play more too, but I get their reasoning - I will try to explain to you. We were fortunate to be in great field position due to the interception. They let Sam make a comfortable read to a familiar target in Anderson for a first down. Chuba got us into the red zone and then they gave Sam a chance to make a play action throw, instead of forcing it like in the past - he throw it out of the end zone which is a good decision in the gran scheme of things. The drive ended in points and Sam did not make any mistakes technically. It would have been nice to see him play more, I know we're all starving for football and wanting to see our new QB - but he played tons of snaps against the Colts first team and Ravens first team in camp. These snaps were behind the scenes, and we were running the plays that we will run in regular season that we don't want to display. Sam also got to throw to Robby and DJ during the scrimmages. They obviously feel pretty comfortable with him to be okay with one throw and is decision not to force a throw in a preseason game.

how sad would it be if we went from Gano, to drafting Butker, to cutting Butker and keeping Gano, to letting Gano go for fugging Slye, to trading for the guy that got cut in favor of Gano. lmao
