  1. I had no problem with him coming in - I was actually excited to bring in an accurate, efficient QB. He just couldn't take the next leap to being a good QB - he was terrible on shot plays and in the red zone. He seems like a really, really odd dude though.
  2. The best way I've seen it put is that it's the previous four - five generations of all-stars. So you thought you were hot poo in College, and maybe you were, but the NFL is the best players from the last four - five College recruiting cycles (a recruiting cycle being three years). It's brutal. There's no shame in not being good enough to hang.
  3. He's a big lad, isn't he? That's reassuring.
  4. I love that people think that now he's out of the 'pressure cooker' of the NY market he'll have more space to breathe. Half the fan base is ready to jump down his throat the first time he throws an INT because he's not the particular brand of 2021 rookie that they tied their colours to. He knows this is his make or break year if he wants to be a starting NFL QB.
  5. Well Shannon Sharpe just lost Julio Jones as a contact.
  6. Which one, Luke Kuechly or Steve Smith? I'll allow you Julius Peppers too, if you must.
  7. I'd bet my mortgage on McCaffrey playing last year if we were in Plyoff contention. They were just super cautious with him.
  8. As you see from the behind-the-scenes videos that teams put out, unless your inside source is the GM it doesn't matter. Loads of people in the War Room, but only one guy makes the decision.
  9. A ton of teams were mentally DONE by the time Bowl season came along. Teams opted out of Bowl games ffs. The ACC was good last year, as it is most years.
  10. They gave up THREE first round picks for the #3 overall pick. Why are they bowing up and saying everyone bought their smokescreen now? I think we had a very lucky escape with Adam Peters.
  11. I was going to say, nobody has mentioned Smith as a YAC guy, which leads me to believe he's not a return candidate.
  12. Not my type, but good luck to all four of them, I hope they're happy. Fingers crossed Berrios sticks on the roster in NY. They've brought in a lot of WRs and he always seems to be low on the totem pole in the pros.
  13. I see Moore as a C in the NFL - shorter, but long arms with a good base, can get to the second level and plays with a nasty demeanor. It's not a coincidence that they put him at C in the Senior Bowl - they saw something in practice. As for Brown - he's at 340something now. Rhule stated that maybe he's just a 340lb guy - personally I think they try to get him down to 330lb or below. I just don't think they could pass over that ability in the 6th round. You don't start 2 years at Alabama if you're not talented. If he busts because he can't keep his weight down then that's just the nature of the Draft. I do wonder how high we were on Spencer Brown - he was coached by the Dolphins so we didn't get a hands on look at him.
  14. The system worked (and works now in San Francisco) because it moves the line of scrimmage. You're not allowed to cut block anywhere near as much as you were allowed to back in the Portis / Davis days. If you watch any of their highlights the line of scrimmage is like a war zone - there's bodies on the ground everywhere. I don't think it's fair to call them poor RBs though, they're just system guys - decisive one cut runners. Like Foster in Houston. Now you move the line of scrimmage laterally and allow the RB to pick his holes based on how the D reacts. It's not about putting a hat on a hat and blowing guys off the line of scrimmage. It's about asking those Dlinemen to cover more than just the immediate ground in front of them.
  15. I mean they were also looking for the best players they could draft. Maybe they thought a potential shutdown corner / potential #1 WR was better value than a guy that would just be thrown into the mix at OL. We have A LOT of guys heading into camp on the Oline. I'm pretty certain they've got no idea how that's going to pan out, besides picking the best 5 guys and making it work. You could see any combination of players - it'll be an open competition. If they didn't think one of the guys we passed up before Christensen was going to nail down one of those jobs, but loved Marshall / Horn then why take them?
  16. That Hubbard rumour needs to die. That was Rhule joking around with a Draft pick on the phone. Watch his reaction when it was brought up in the post-Draft press conference. With a face like thunder he said something like "I love my wife dearly, but no she was not involved with this Draft." I think EJ is wrong on Nixon btw - he's far too quick and agile to just be written off as a bullrusher.
  17. He more than held his own against two first round DEs picked this year. If I'm Rhule I'm giving Christensen every chance to fail at LT in TC / the preseason.
  18. They might want to consider putting him back where they found him.
  19. I don't know if you took a gander at the Jets roster this past season, but when Crowder is your #1 you're bold faced tanking. It's rare though, I agree.
