Cam scored twice from the 1 yard line. Yes he is a great red zone threat but dont act like hes who got us there.

You cant say anything that's not 100% Cam Newton hype right now without being called a hater. No matter how much sense it makes. I think it makes much sense to keep giving him more snaps each week but there is no major benefit to rushing him in full time. Until PJ poos the bed anyways.

Cam has one of those... with much higher stakes. Nothing against him but this seems like a weird statement to make.

I definitely worry about how his shoulder holds up over time. My other main concern is he was never really a guy that threw with a lot of timing and anticipation. He made up for most of it with his athleticism and the lazers he threw. As we've seen with Sam, this scheme isnt especially forgiving of throwing the ball late.

You're going to get ripped for saying anything negative about Cam. All the people who have bashed every qb since cam for underthrowing a deep ball is going to comment on here bashing you. Also I think it's both. It's not fair to judge his deep ball yet because hes not got any reps or timing down yet, but also I will make an uneducated guess that after 3 or 4 years of his arm strength being gone, I doubt its magically going to be back. Especially for the long haul.

I'm not sure how you get that it was completely opened up. We attempted like 2 deep balls, maybe just 1. We just ran the ball super effectively. The turnovers and short fields got us our points. It was a great game and a team win but to say this indites anyone positively or negatively is a huge knee jerk reaction and you are just jumping to the conclusion that you want.

I dont think it was nesscesarily anyone's fault. I also dont think him coming back now means it was a mistake. At the time he was wanting an extension and he only had a year left on his contract. If we had kept him we would have given him a lot bigger contract than he is here now on. I think he overvalued himself a little at the time and his market after he was left humbled him some. I dont really think any mistakes were made on this road besides how it was handled publicly and personally but I dont think the actual decisions were wrong.

If he plays well they will offer another short term deal while they look for a qb for the future. Cam is a stop gap and with all the excitement for him coming home I hope fans keep realistic expectations for what they get out of Cam performance wise.

There is a difference in talking about him and his history as qb of the panthers and not realizing he is in no way the qb he used to be.

I dont think most people on here hate Cam. I feel like some people on here are just delusional about the degradation of his skills over the years. Be it because of his health or otherwise. He isnt the qb so many people here think he still is. You can not hate him and think those things. They arent mutually exclusive.

An aggravation of a broken bone?

Yea if they were really making something up they wouldnt go with a broken shoulder that he was questionable with a shoulder injury before the last game. It makes them looks terrible and they are going to catch a lot of heat for it and have a lot of questions to answer.

Broken throwing shoulder for a qb doesnt sound ideal...

He knew that and still called him out for having balls batted down. Which isnt fully on the qb anyway.

I dont think 2021 Cam is "clearly" better than these guys at all. Could he be? Maybe. It's not nearly as cut and dry as you all want to act. Father time Caught up with Cam rapidly as all of his strengths were worn away by time/injuries. The people who just remember 2015 Cam are never going to move on until he finally retires.

Everyone knew our first offensive play was going to be a run up the gut with CMC including the Patriots. Why not use him as a decoy on the first play? Brady had no idea how to throw defenses off balance.

I think it just as much if not has more to do with the fact that the offensive line actually looks almost competent when run blocking. Unfortunately the same cant be said for pass blocking. I do think they should have went for a deep ball on one or two of those 2nd and 1 qb sneaks and that is another reason our offense and Darnold is struggling. Our offense is predictable. The coaching staff has no idea how to run a balanced offense to try to catch the opponent off guard or confuse them.

It is crazy how much we have regressed since the first few games. That partially has to point towards play calling and other teams getting film.
