  1. Not trying to argue one way or another here but can we be realistic about that measurement? Is it including the hair? I mean looking at this he's actually even a little shorter than Kyler. If we're going to discuss this let's at least put all the cards on the table.
  2. It's on Bryce Young to put in the work and prove these fools wrong. Ice up son!
  3. Honestly fug Russell Wilson.
  4. I'm torn between both viewpoints here because both are valid. It's fine to feel either way. But we can also be realistic and grapple with the possibility Burns has a career resurgence at his next destination. It's become like a Panthers tradition at this point.
  5. Well in total fairness I wouldn't even categorize what we gave him as NFL coaching. Just straight garbage. I've already said he's been coddled I don't know what more I can do to acknowledge he needs to nut up as a top pick and fully reset everything. Get people out of your ear telling you what you want to hear and get in the weight room. It will either happen or we will be drafting a QB next year like we've been talking about for weeks now. We'll see.
  6. His height isn't changing. The mechanics can definitely be worked on. Again the issue is Bryce himself. He needs to be challenged hard. I honestly get Sam Darnold vibes from him as far as how people in college have praised him until the NFL put him through the meat grinder and now he's culture shocked. He's either going to put in some work or he's going to be another clock in clock out QB like Darnold. Simple as that for me.
  7. I have little doubt he would have been pretty damn good with the Rams. Different culture different expectations different coaching. I'm not absolving Brian of any of what transpired but as you said the issue is replacing and upgrading. If he's so bad we should be able to do that relatively easy no? Or could it be the huddle is doing what we've always done and thinking the grass is greener until we realize we're standing in the midst of a grease fire? I think the tag is the best course of action going forward. See how he responds to the new staff and Dan Morgan. I am particularly curious to see how Dan approaches this. Now I'll be the first to tell you I am skeptical at best at how he will be at drafting. But as far as knowing top end defensive talent when he sees it I will trust Morgan in that area. If he thinks Burns is part of the future I'll accept that. If not listen to offers.
  8. We talked about this a lot. I was told in no uncertain terms that a few inches difference and 20 pounds (being generous) between him and Stroud were irrelevant and just fodder for people who wanted to be negative. Welp... He certainly faces a steep climb to overcome his physical limitations. But really it is all about how Bryce Young himself approaches the offseason. Does he tighten his circle and change the way he has approached his craft to this point after being coddled at Alabama? Get him in the gym and off his weight watchers diet. He's a first overall pick.
  9. People are down on him and some of that is on Brian himself. The Panthers front office has mismanaged the situation but Burns also has not been consistent after posturing through camp about leadership while now demanding top money. All that being said I still get the feeling if we do trade him and he goes somewhere with other top talent and coaching the tide about him here will turn and we will get yet another round of "wtf why did we trade him again?". I'm not saying that will happen. But it's a possibility.
  10. "I'm a football player not a test taker". Very apt words to look back on. Competive teams draft football players not accommodating dinner guests that the wife of the owner is smitten with. In the end all the in between stuff is irrelevant. It doesn't matter what the draft boards said. The Texans felt just fine about CJ Stroud based on his tape and his combine. Whereas apparently the Panthers front office and even some prominent former Panthers thought he had inferior football IQ and subpar leadership. This should be a very hard lesson learned to not just the Panthers as a franchise but to the fans not to get caught up in all the blovating from talking heads.
  11. Telling others to grow up while being hateful in the morning for no reason toward one of our best players ever lol. Seek help my dude!
  12. Did I stumble onto a divisional rival board by accident? Man some people really do despise our only MVP in franchise history.
  13. I don't think you can understate how removing that deadbeat grifter Gordon Hayward and jackasses like James Bouknight from the equation was an immediate boost to team morale. Mitch finally did right by us with the Miller pick and he redeemed himself for the Hayward signing with this trade. It's just nice to have a local sports team worth watching.
  14. Shanahan needed a scapegoat. Wilks will bounce back somewhere.
  15. Stuff like this is why I can't stand the 49ers and particularly Kyle Shanahan. What a slimey choke artist. Say what you will about Wilks I do think he is pretty much average as a DC. But he doesn't coach offense there and he can't turn Brock Purdy into Joe Burrow. He always faced an uphill battle containing a now 3 time Super Bowl champion quarterback when the offensive side of the ball is predicated on Christian McCaffrey having a career day more often than not.
  16. Honestly I don't think he got a fair start to his career being drafted by Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer. No ill will toward him hopefully he gets his life on track.
  17. It's a breath of fresh air to see good team basketball in the QC again.
  18. I'll agree with you he's underpaid. Luckily for him he won't have to worry about that too much longer.
  19. Momentum is a real thing. The Niners had all the momentum throughout most of the first half. They peaked early like I noticed. I would not say the defense didn't make stops though. They played pretty damn stout considering they were up against a 3 time champion. I honestly don't even fault the defense that much for the final drive against Mahomes. The Niners received the ball first. That field goal was the final nail. Also as others are noting. Coaching overall for the Chiefs was better down the stretch.
  20. You're wrong as usual. Actually I received quite a few poo reactions from people when I stated multiple times his arm was done after his stint in New England and the comeback attempt here. Even recently Carl Spackler has claimed I hate Cam lol. I've never shied away from the reality of his situation post 2018. The problem always was how we proceeded after. No QB. Sign a running back to the highest paid contract in history. Been flailing ever since trying to fix it with panic moves.
  21. You guys are going to have to accept this fantasy of McCaffrey winning a Super Bowl on his own isn't going to happen.
  22. I've discussed the inconsistencies people have expressed in their positions between the two players. You didn't and still don't like that. People wanted to move on from Cam hell or high water. They got their wish. We see how its gone. Just yesterday I had someone tell me they wanted to keep McCaffrey well past his prime. What's stupid is you rehashing all this again. You have 100 thousand plus posts many of them venting to no end about Marty Hurney then you spend thousands more defending and still defending our now worst GM in team history. Just give it a rest Scot.
  23. False. I hated the contract and the subsequent albatross of a salary cap hit. It was never a wise investment to make before having a QB in place. But keep trying to come for others Mr. Scot after all your water carrying for Fitterer.
  24. Now you aren't a Purdy fan and I hate McCaffrey eh? Looks like the convo is over. Good talk!
