Based on the first few games he appeared to have already checked out. Anything is possible but it just doesn't look like he wants to be great or even good at his position. For all the times we said DJ Moore looked like his head wasn't in it sometimes he was an All-Pro compared to TMJ and he produced with some abysmal QB's and OC's.

Even if we lose just look competent putting up a real fight ie like an actual passing offense. These Bryce Young arguments are only going to get more heated otherwise. We really need something anything to feel positive about especially at home where we have been abysmal the last few years.

What on earth do you get out of randomly posting our best players worst moments this? Would you post gifs of Luke Kuechly crying from his concussion? There's being disappointed with a loss and then there's being a garden tool. You should be able to figure out which one you fall in line with.

If I can only pick one give me Brown.

The contract happening after the major injury didn't make sense and makes less sense now. I would have rather seen that money go to the offense. In general we still have shown a tendency to be sentimental with guys we drafted instead of moving on when it's best for the team. Sound familiar? Jackson Thomas and yes even Thompson fit that bill. We haven't moved on from these players because Fitterer has been largely inept at drafting and his free agent acquisitions aside from Corbett and Luvu have been either meh or outright bad.

To be clear I expected a likely losing season this year and I also expected the usual rookie gaffes from Bryce like turning the ball over trying to force things. I was fine with that knowing we still had an at least halfway decent oline and group of weapons and a very solid staff with years of accumulative knowledge around him to develop with in the meantime. Where this all got off course in my view is when we saw the struggles in preseason that have since translated to the regular season and have shown little signs of moving in the right direction. It's definitely something that gives me familiar concern that I saw in both our previous coaching regimes. When pairing this with what we gave up in the trade it makes for even higher stakes. I just want this team to get to playing intelligent and better coached football because that hasn't happened much at all. Hopefully Bryce plays this weekend looks better doing so and we can begin to shift the tide back to something resembling respectable Panthers football.

Which " NFL Team" would you want your next GM groomed from?!

Tepper has to be willing to step aside and let a consultant navigate the process and find the best candidate regardless of how well the hire and Tepper get along. This is a business not a bromance. I do find Dan Morgan in the role to be intriguing but I feel that would be another situation where Tepper would be looming and still trying to steer things his own way because it would be Dan's first time in the gig. -
It's getting to that point. No back to back winning seasons but at least the highs were a fun ride. So far there has been none of that with Tepper. Firing Rivera wasn't even the wrong decision. It was placing himself at the head of the table in the coaching search with Marty Hurney riding shotgun as his yes man instead of hiring real football minds to navigate the process. Now worse yet he has doubled down and entrenched his wife within the ranks.

If you agree that Darnold and Allen's first games where they looked good were ultimately a mirage then why are we hoping Bryce Young suddenly clicks against lesser competition? We've already seen that story play out just as you stated. It sounds to me like lowering the bar which is going backwards from where we were even before Cam got here. Sad state of affairs.

We're still leaning on Hurney's old first rounders. I can't honestly name a player Fitterer has drafted that we simply could not do without. Horn is the only one under consideration but availability makes that moot.
-
Oh wow I never saw this at the time. Even people who are defensive of the Panthers should be able to admit this is not normal or indicative of a well run organization. This is no different than Jerry Richardson having his sons involved in operations.
-
Oh and ten years after Cam and needing to see him ball out against only good teams I must say it's a major culture change to need to see our new #1 pick ball out against bad defenses to feel better about his future.
-
Could be a bust wouldn't surprise me. But he has plenty of potential. He won't become anything from the bench though.

I can agree there is some definite overdoing it and exaggeration of his struggles to a degree. Many people also agree our front office and staff have left a great deal to be desired so far on the competency front. But criticism exists for all QB's across all fanbases even established ones. But as far as this instant defense mechanism for quarterbacks who haven't proven anything this fanbase has repeated the same cycle with Kyle Allen Teddy Bridgewater Sam Darnold PJ Walker Baker Mayfield and now Bryce Young. Only one QB in the history of this franchise has truly made us relevant across the league and led or tried to lead against stiff resistance a change amongst this franchise and fanbase of just being happy to be here/have a team mentality and that's Cam Newton. If Bryce Young can recapture even a percentage of that dog mentality we could be cooking. For now he's got to just make the best of his situation and play ball. But eventually we need to see glimpses of that ability that we traded up for. That's just the nature of the NFL and the weight of being a first overall QB. You don't have to like it but it's been the same for countless other quarterbacks.

Folks are grasping at straws trying to make it look like Stroud has been working with all pro personnel and elite coaching out of the gate. He was supposed to be going to the worst situation of the top 3 QB's. We just need Bryce Young to get out there and do his thing. As much as some of these Panthers fans who want to shout down criticism think they are helping Bryce Young they actually just sound like his mom. That's a man. Let him stand on his own two feet and prove something at this level. I hope he does.

Panthers lose another Defensive Starter (Xavier Woods)
frankw replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That was quick. I still love you. Idk because it's the wife people are going to claim misogyny and this and that I don't question her intelligence level at all I do not know the woman. She could be Melania or she could be Michelle. Who knows. What I do know is the whole situation of her being at all involved in big decisions is reminiscent of old Jerry Richardson and his sons. You remember? The ones he kicked to the curb. Just because they're related doesn't mean they should be involved. -

It's amusing seeing folks who had barbs for Richardson and the 1% in general being a mouthpiece for the Tepper's. -

Oof. Shaping up to be a get right game for the Vikings offense. -
People were changing 1 and 2 on their draft boards a good bit in the lead up. But I concede Bryce did become the defacto on most draft boards. Of course that was due to the S2 and some nefarious things said about Stroud ie his intelligence and vague unsourced claims about his character. I do completely agree with you though the bed is made. Bryce Young needs to be out there playing as soon as he's phsyically available. This charade of Reich basically doing a Helen Keller impression when asked about Young's injury and availability gives off the vibe of incompetence though. They had conviction in their words. Get your guy on the field.

Bringing the receipts!

Stroud's reaction to going 2 tells me there were definitely a few people involved in the process who were very high on him and gave him the impression he was probably the pick. What changed and when people can speculate. But you don't see any photo ops of Tepper's wife embracing Stroud or any of the other QB prospects at their pro day.

Fitterer legit looks like Bobby Hill grown up.

Tepper aside. Scott Fitterer is an awful GM and the Seahawks have been doing much better since he left. The reason he didn't walk out the door with Rhule is because he follows Tepper's orders.

Yeah that's not peanuts unless you're viewing it through homer lenses no offense. If you make that level of trade up for a QB at 1 and he isn't ready to at least compete in his first season you made a bad trade.
