We're one of the few teams who consistently struggle with it. Eventually you just have to chalk it up mismanagement.

Canales has his hands full. I think the biggest test isn't going to be if he is or isn't successful reshaping the offense but navigating the entire team and staff. We can't dismiss the awful performance from our special teams and defensive depth. He's the head honcho. Need to see how he handles that going forward. With Bryce it's wait and see. Andy at this point was a bad signing. He's a great guy but even if he plays better in the next one the writing is already on the wall. I would like to see the team pursue another low risk high reward young QB that isn't Jack Plummer as an insurance policy of sorts. It's a 17 game season any number of things can happen.

With the Panthers the reality is it's usually somewhere in the middle. The eternal optimists will barrel in and start saying everybody else is a squidward and the skeptics will say they're being homers. But at the end of the day. The Panthers are gonna Panther. One thing I've learned about this franchise. Don't have expectations. The second you do. They pull the rug right out from under you. The onus isn't on the fanbase to become believers. We've already been here. It's on the team to make believers out of us.

The way Bryce handled the second drive was very relieving to see and he navigated the pocket well most importantly in the redzone. But in the grand scheme of things with the rest of the game one drive is just that. They went 1 for 2. The starting offense is going to get at least 3 more in the coming week. Need to make all of them count for something.

Certainly happy to see the top 4 of Scourton Bryce Icky and TMac. Tershawn Wharton though. Definitely need to see better from our 45 million dollar free agent. This is where some of the concerns of overpaying role players enters the conversation. Hopefully he shakes it off.

If you've gotta go back 12 years to find something to make your point with that says it all my guy...... Everyone here wants the same goal. Some of us differ on opinions about things that transpire in the meantime. That's fine. I mean it'd be great to wake up one morning and know this franchise is at least a contender. It'd also be nice to get the back to back winning seasons monkey off our backs. But we gotta stop looking like the fuging Little Giants out there first.

To be abundantly clear this is the same place where many people ridiculed others last preseason saying it didn’t matter and then we got the doors blown off in the first two weeks of the regular season.

Nobody is upset about losing a preseason game. The response you see is a result of a myriad of factors. Our offensive depth is bad. Our defensive depth is bad. Our QB room is cheeks. Our ST is horrendous. And we had a 2nd year first round pick get ejected within minutes of kickoff. One nice drive does not negate top to bottom fugery. This begins and ends with Dave Canales. This is his ship. And while we are still exercising patience to a degree because he is a young 2nd year head coach we are also rapidly reaching the point where we will no longer excuse one step forward and immediately two steps back. Even if we aren't winning we need to see incremental improvement.

I gladly complimented Bryce for the touchdown drive yesterday. When he plays well and especially when he continues to play well that complimenting will continue. If he doesn't then I will call it like I see it and it's the same for anyone else. Honestly between the two of us I would be thrilled for him to go on and become our franchise QB as I've said all along. But idk man you are so invested in this I kinda worry for your well being if he doesn’t. You have an unhealthy infatuation bud.

Stopped reading after he said another ass whooping didn’t matter. Yeah it's preseason and these games don't count but getting our asses whooped has been the consistent story more often than not of the Carolina Panthers since at least 2018. That matters.

Man it's comical how many keystrokes you waste here talking about others arguing in bad faith and there are literally no lengths you won't go to in order to cape for Bryce Young. He has a mother and father okay? This is about what is best for the development of the young players. Having a younger QB or even a younger vet with some upside in the event of unforseen circumstances so we do not waste another crucial season of development of said young players should not be a foreign or controversial concept here.

Nowhere did I say it wasn't foolish. My biggest complaint is throwing punches at helmets which is by definition stupidity. As much as I can criticize Legette for his gaffe and unfortunate choice I feel like more criticism should be directed at the head coach here. This is his baby. This guy spent a great deal of time waxing poetic in the camp confidential series but what we saw last night was the very definition of classic Panthers football in the worst ways. That rests squarely on his shoulders. Now we need to see how he and his players respond. But I can tell you as a Panthers fan who has been through the ringer for over 2 decades. He can't keep doing this. There needs to be a new identity established this season even if we aren't necessarily winning we absolutely need to be competitive.

At the end of the day it was one drive. But word is Canales wants the starters to play 3 series in the next game.

So far what I think of Dave Canales is he's very charismatic and great at selling the part and speaking on the media side but the results on the field are all that matters and that is dogshit.

I can agree with you to a point. But we also felt like this after that one drive against the Bills last year in preseason. And ironically the rest of our depth looked more competent than this in the rest of that game. We have simply poo the bed in this one.

Pretty much worst case scenario from what I wanted to see in this game. Letting Shedeur look promising while our offensive depth absolutely flounders. In our stadium. Probably time to shut this off.

This is a bad look for Dave Canales. Coming off a season where you got absolutely whooped multiple times. First game at home and your QB room looks like....this. Dan Morgan got some explaining to do too.
