  1. I definitely share your concern for this. But we also aren't going to compete much this season. One of the biggest issues has been the decision makers trying to fix everything in one season. If they step back from that maybe they won't fug everything up. I guess we can hope.
  2. At this point you have to assume it's by design. We've fired and hired multiple head coaches hired a new GM. What's the remaining constant? David Tepper. Also bare in mind the XL pick was tipped way before the week before the draft anyways. Bryce Young's own father was lobbying for him on twitter. This goes way beyond just not being able to keep a lid on things. This is the way our organization operates for better or worse and it's how things have been since ownership changed. Tepper might not be front and center anymore but nothing behind the scenes has changed. People might as well reconcile with that now.
  3. On the surface most people are going to agree that more picks are a good thing. The problem is so far our FO has been unable to resist trying to speed up the timeline in situations like this and tries to fix everything they can in one draft instead of just taking the best talent that falls to them. There's a high probability this will happen again. Maybe they'll finally get lucky. But I'm not going to hold my breath on it.
  4. The issue is the person who is the one spending the assets has a history of making bad selections both as GM and an assistant GM.
  5. For me I'm not at all against more assets. In fact I'm in favor of it given our needs. Where the issue and the disconnect from some of my fellow fans begins is the fact that it is Dan Morgan navigating this draft. Right now I'm not convinced Dan Morgan couldn't ruin a wet dream if given the chance. He is too Fittereresque. And he's got the same scouts in his ear that Scott did. He got too cute in last years draft. We can't afford a repeat. If anyone is interested below is a good discussion of the 2024 draft and covers why many people here are not enamored with Morgan likely being trade happy once again. If he didn't learn anything from last year we're toast.
  6. This would be the type of move to get someone in their front office canned in a hurry if the team underperforms. I don't see them moving a 24 year old WR who is coming off a career season.
  7. Haven't had a winning season since 2017 have had some of the worst drafts in recent memory in three consecutive years we're rumored to be seeking a "less than market deal" to move down out of an 8th overall pick and here you are shining shoes while judging others. Insufferable kiss ass.
  8. I mean it's strange to say the picks don't have to do with anything. We're heading into the 8th consecutive season of possibly yet another losing record. We're never going to alter trajectory if we can't start hitting on picks regardless of if we move around or how other teams perceive our GM.
  9. When Scott Fitterer got behind a microphone and gushed over Ian Thomas I knew we were cooked.
  10. Reading this thread It's very easy to see how Scott Fitterer had so many fervent defenders in those early years.
  11. The Rams have a front office that generally has an eye for talent in the draft. The Panthers can move up and down all they want. The results say they can't draft worth a poo to save their lives if they needed to. And Dan Morgan until proven otherwise is not an upgrade in that area. If the argument is more picks will give them a better chance to not fug things up that at least has some level of logic behind it. Certainly it's better than different variations of comments that are basically akin to telling folks here they think they know more than the experts ie the Panthers brass.
  12. Trading down for the sake of trading down and then watching prospects from one position group fly off the board and trading back up in a panic was Scott Fitterer to a tee. Some people here have developed Stockholm Syndrome.
  13. You don't make a deal just for the sake of making a deal when you already have the reputation of being a sucker. That was Scott Fitterer's motto. "In on every deal". Dude was even worse than Marty Hurney when it was all said and done. If Morgan follows in those footsteps and continues to draft poorly he will be sealing his own fate.
  14. Considering we've had a regime the last several years who felt it was prudent to assembling a winning roster to look over the bottom of dumbass teams rosters for talent like the Jaguars and the Jets and send them assets for their rejects well... sadly yeah. In the current term we've at least moved on from that foolishness so I guess that's a plus.
  15. What does one have to do with the other? Teddy got plenty of chances with multiple teams. Howell got one full season with a soon to be fired head coach in Ron Rivera and then got sent packing.
  16. Well that's good to hear. Certainly Canales can walk and chew gum at the same time ie develop more than one QB. This will make me feel better about the QB room.
  17. I don't recall on that. The guy who was the loudest Matt Corral fan was rippadon and he was always saying "let's eat" referring to Golden Corral. It was cringy. But I couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy. It's been tough being a Panthers fan that's for damn sure.
  18. I agree completely about needing more impact players but based on what Dan Morgan did in the 2nd round last year trading up for not just a luxury position but an already injured player in his first draft his judgment is a concern until proven otherwise. Hopefully he learned something we'll see.
  19. Well you have to remember you are talking to someone who was once the most outspoken defender of Teddy Bridgewater. He's gonna do what he's gonna do to carry water for his guy. He's certainly committed to his cause.
  20. 2022 2023 and 2024 should be enough to get those involved blackballed from scouting and working in front offices ever again. Just unforgiveable ineptitude.
  21. I was unaware of this as well. Supposedly he's been willing to do individual workouts with teams instead. Still though that's not what you want to see at all from someone under consideration for a top 10 pick especially at a position like TE. We just need to go DL at 8 and keep it moving.
