I hear you brother. But I am now past the point of wanting to see that this season. We're dead in the water. We're not winning anything for the culture going forward from here on out in the remaining games. We have so many needs. I'm not saying tank or any nonsense like that. I'm just saying it doesn't matter one iota anymore what he looks like when there's nothing left to play for anyways. Let the young guys get their reps these last few weeks and head into the offseason with a lengthy list of issues to address. Beginning with the QB room.

Panthers Made the top 5 on an ESPN List...
frankw replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
DJ Moore wouldn't be saving this Bryce Young led offense. Still it was a stupid thing to do to trade our best WR by far for a small QB with a so so arm at best. Stroud was the only one worth what we gave up and I said so at the time but many many people wouldn't hear a word of it. But it's all water under the bridge. DJ Moore is a Bear and all that mess there is his problem. We need legitimate competition at QB at bare minimum this offseason. And bring in another offensive weapon for whomever the QB may be next season. -
I just don't get why we can't acknowledge that regardless of extenuating circumstances our first overall pick has been largely backup level. And even that's being rather kind. Last year the OL was the biggest issue and this year after investing an exorbitant amount of money in the interior OL we are near bottom of the league in sacks given up. Regardless of the WR situation we should not be 29 out of 32 in passing yards per game. We are also on coaching staff #2. Now nearing the end of his second season you have to look at the common thread at the center of it all. That's Bryce Young.
-
The highest offensive output of the season was with Dalton. He sucks.
-
Kyle Allen in 13 games in 2019: 3,322 passing yards Bryce Young in 11 games this year: 1,791 passing yards That's a difference of 1,531 yards in two starts.

To some people here wanting an actual NFL level passing offense = being "Anti-Bryce Young".

How did they mess up so bad with Mayfield and Darnold,
frankw replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Evans and Godwin are good but the Bucs offense is balanced. They ran and passed all over the Chargers last weekend to the tune of 506 total yards. And Baker Mayfield is hot and cold at best. But he can and will make all the throws. Overall their roster is not that very good though. We saw that firsthand against them. We could replicate some of what they're doing with the right QB and another offensive piece. The Vikings are loaded and Justin Jefferson is behind only Jamar Chase in receiving yards. If you want that level of production it isn't going to happen with Bryce Young behind center regardless of who we put at WR. Justin Jefferson would absolutely be losing his cool here if Bryce was his QB. -
It's best to just take these remaining games as what they are. We aren't playing for anything. It's just more experience for the young guys. At the same time we should be able to acknowledge things and not constantly trying to run cover to make any one player look better. I mean we can sit here and talk about how stats are misleading all we want but while we're on the subject Nix is meh at best as a rookie QB but he has 1,444 more yards than our second year QB in only 4 more starts. Our offense is and has been limited with Young at QB. Reality is reality.
-
Why are we talking about Bo Nix?
-
18.6% from three tonight..lol Salaun is too raw at only 19. No one can say what he'll ultimately be 3 or 4 years from now. But waiting around for that is not a luxury this franchise has. We needed production out of that pick now. It's not looking good at all. At this point I think Lee is just doing all he can to keep this team competive given the circumstances. But there are some tough decisions ahead. Might get worse before it gets better anytime soon.

DJ Moore set the franchise back YEARS by taking his helmet off.
frankw replied to staffcurtis's topic in Carolina Panthers
Have you seen the way we've drafted the last few years? We would have found a way to squander those picks probably. I don't like saying that but it's true. -
Don't overthink it if for whatever reason we aren't going QB take the best playmaker and difference maker available regardless of position. We need some alpha's on this damn team.
-
Looks like he's only done videos this week for Josh Allen Jalen Hurts and Baker Mayfield. Will he actually do one for Bryce or just skip over the carnage? But it's been oddly quiet overall after some folks couldn't wait to post any obscure statistics they could find to boost up Bryce Young's ranking amongst his peers. @Icege one of the loudest and quickest to call out people for having differing opinions on Bryce Young hasn't made a single post since the first half of the Cowboys game. Kinda hypocrital no?

Slow down nobody is saying Woody Johnson isn't one of the worst owners in the NFL. But Tepper has arguably been one of if not the most impulsive and easily duped owners in a fairly short amount of time. He's seemingly finally starting to take the hint and chill maybe but make no mistake he's already been right there with Woody and it's taken him 24 years to be this bad. Worst win % in all of professional sports within 6 years of ownership for Tepper? That's quite the feat.
-
Apparently before this there was another kid that was gifted a Brandon Miller jersey that they then tried to take back but he started crying so they let him keep it. I mean I don't even know where to begin with this. Like this barbaric mess makes even David Tepper look vaguely decent. What in the hell is going on with this organization?

Dave Tepper gives Canales and Dan Morgan vote of confidence
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not religious. I don't care that he is. It has no impact on whether or not he will succeed as a head coach in the NFL. If he doesn't work out here so be it. I'm not wasting keystrokes going off on tangents about his personal life. If I were that deeply invested to that point I wouldn't even be following sports at all. Clearly for whatever reason you do as the previous threads you have created eviscerating Dave Canales over that and his personal life would clearly indicate. But that's your prerogative.- 52 replies

Last year the Commanders OL gave up 65 sacks same as us. Sam Howell who is now holding a clipboard for another team had the 12th most passing yards through all that and Ron Rivera as his head coach. Now Bryce Young has an OL that has given up 28 sacks amongst the lowest in the NFL this season and he is still 31st in passing yards. And that's considered an "improvement". The excuses are beyond stale.

frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You and I both know there isn't a coach we could or can still hire that can "fix" Bryce Young. Even at mighty Alabama with one of the best modern coaches in college football history Mac Jones was still a better QB than Bryce Young. Mac Jones.... We already know how you feel about Canales on a personal level so in that regard you wanting him fired is not news. You don't have to disguise it behind this shroud of rabble about not fixing Bryce Young. To his credit he somehow had us competive against the Chiefs and the Eagles on the road with #9. But no coaching staff can overcome their starting QB turning the ball over 4 times. We definitely have developed some of our younger offensive pieces. And as far as Evero goes he has earned criticism and if he's fired so be it but in his defense many of us said in the offseason this defensive roster was a disaster waiting to happen given the resources we spent on the offense while neglecting the defense. That was Dan Morgan's plan. He swung too hard toward offense to salvage the Bryce Young trade. That's on him. We can scream about XL all we want but at least he's actually been on the field for the most part. The Brooks pick was a luxury pick at the time and now it is a Hurney level blunder. Dan Morgan has gotten a lot of early praise here when in reality he's unequivocally deserving of significant criticism. But if you say that some people get up in arms because he's a former Panther. Big whoop. He has just as much to prove this upcoming season as Canales. That's why to me in my own personal opinion I say one more season and then if it's more of the same say goodbye to both.- 52 replies

Dave Tepper gives Canales and Dan Morgan vote of confidence
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Both Reich and Canales were saddled with trying to build and establish a viable scoring offense around Bryce Young. The best the offense looked this season and last season was with Andy Dalton who is also terrible but still better than Bryce Young. Which should be all anyone needs to know but still somehow there are weirdos here salivating over a ceiling of maybe on a really good day the 25th best QB in the league. We've already canned one entire staff over our first overall pick. You can fire everyone again to satisfy your need for vengeance and quickly come to the realization that your next hire will absolutely unequivocally be a downgrade yes man or you can blow up this QB room and then assess. If no progress next season then you can make changes and justifiably so.- 52 replies

There are things to be positive about going forward. I know people have been down on Canales playcalling and probably he does need to hand over the reigns to his OC and take more of a overseeing approach next season given this was all a first time head coach learning experience for him. But he has shown IMO to be the coach for the future we hoped he would all things considered. Like you said we have the OL in place we just need to add a talent infusion to the defense and probably another offensive weapon and this team should be ready to compete. The final piece is adding another young QB to duke it out with Bryce. And I just hope to hell Canales sees it the same way and is able to pinpoint the guy he wants with support from Morgan.- 52 replies

Obviously no one has a crystal ball to predict injuries but good RB's can and have been had in the 4th and 5th rounds. At one point earlier in the season with McCaffrey out the 49ers had an at the time league leading running back who was undrafted. You simply don't have to sink a pick in the first 2 rounds to get a productive back anymore. Chuba Hubbard was a 4th round pick. He's pretty good no?

It really is true that outside of the occasional dogfight rival game this division is mediocre at best on a good day. Brees and Payton gone Ryan gone Brady gone. And all we've been doing is flailing around under the Tepper's when we should have a guaranteed playoff spot against this lot.- 52 replies
