PFF grades from Panthers' Week 8 vs Falcons
Jackie Lee replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Has he even caught a pass since Rhule got fired? -
Eh for offense yes but DE opposite Burns or a true MLB would be just as impactful. Not knowing who the staff are going to be next year makes it all really tricky

What’s your 2023 QB big board (including Corral)
Jackie Lee replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd prefer this. I think Young is at his ceiling in that tailored offense. I like Young but he'll probably be gone before we pick. If we're high up I'd also consider trading back and taking Hooker/Richardson, a MLB, and Bijan Robinson all by the middle 2nd round. That's a haul -
Sam might not even get off IR next week the way Wilks sounded. They have an extra OL project guy they could cut to keep Sam but that's about it. He won't be on the roster next year anyway so no reason to give him any playing time. If it comes to that just play Eason and see if he can be a backup

For sure financially I'd go into the draft if I were him. He won't make it past the 2nd round worst case scenario, that's probably $10M -

He's so young I'm not sure if another year of college or a year sitting on the bench would be better for him. I saw on his IG he graduated High School May 23rd 2020 and that seems crazy. He might be at 20 college games started when the draft hits -

I'd take Minshew and that OC for sure. Whether we can grab Richardson/Hooker/D-line or MLB is all hypothetical til we get another month or so into the NFL season. Richardson and Hooker are the only 2 guys I'm interested in after Bryce for how we usually operate on offense. Don't see Stroud wanting to play like it's 1985 as an option -

Obviously depends on the HC and everything but we better not have anything more than 1 vet, 1 draft QB, and Corral in camp. Don't really care about the order for reps but it has to be more than 3 per practice for whoever is at the bottom of the depth chart. The Baker/Sam "battle" was 25-30 reps a practice with PJ and Corral sitting around doing nothing til the final 5 minutes, splitting the last 5 reps or so. It's actually insulting to those guys to have been treated like that -

Not sure, was looking for one but for some context this was a nice play and that ball should have been caught -

For all the Corral is too small people, here he is next to PJ. PJ has 15 pounds on Bryce Young. CJ Stroud has 1" and like 5 pounds on Corral for complete context of these top 2 guys in the draft -

Seeing how Rhule had Baker looking like a shell of himself, I think Corral should get a full camp and preseason under actual NFL coaches. He's technically our 3rd round pick this coming year anyway. -
I was looking at LB's today and I feel like Noah Sewell will go top 15-20, then I don't know if there's a day one starter after that. Maybe the Bama guy in the 2nd if he's still around
-
Can't really go wrong with any position honestly. Glaring needs are QB, DE, and MLB. OC/DT and RB are potential holes, a TE upgrade would be nice since it's currently taking 4 guys to do 2 jobs

Why I feel Wilks needs another season to win his job.
Jackie Lee replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
Same, I'd much rather Wilks handle the culture stuff and practice routines etc and just invest in the right OC. I like that he's rolling with the hot hands on Offense and not tinkering with the things that are working. I'd also like to see a relatively healthy secondary once Chinn comes back to see Al Holcombs true potential as DC. -

I"m guessing this is the same pod -
I made the mistake of looking at Levis' Tik Tok page and I get major Russell Wilson vibes
-
Speaking of, do you think we potentially just keep Sam on IR for the rest of the year? $19M to walk around practice in sweatpants

I can see us ending up anywhere from 5-12 to 9-8, I think Ravens and Seahawks are the toughest. Bengals O-line is pretty terrible so depends on if the Bengals can dink and dunk/yac their way down the field.
-
The more I read and see about Levis the more I think he's a tool.

I'm not an advocate of Chuba attempting to catch anything, but Blackshear and Spencer Brown didn't look like they anywhere near the kinda burst Chuba has for the 1-2 punch. Chuba's cuts look a lot better this year as well, he looked super stiff last year
