  1. Dolphins released CB Mike Hilton
  2. Most recent news from an hour or so ago:
  3. Was bad against the run in college and never got any better in the pros. Definitely won't be a fit here, so bullet (hopefully) dodged.
  4. Commanders inked Terry McLaurin to a new deal. Up to 3yr, $96M.
  5. Right? There's an image just a page or two back showing all of the QB2s, but all of this hand wringing over "We won't win if Bryce goes down!" and "We can't properly evaluate the rest of the talent on the roster with Dalton either!" is a hell of a commitment to fear and anxiety. "I'm right and anybody that disagrees with me is living in an alternate reality" is crazy work. It's giving narcissism before lunch.
  6. I really hope we keep all 4 + 7 WRs. I like Blackshear, but Etienne has shown that he's more than capable as a returner and RB3. Idk if he's still PS eligible, but that'd be a dub if he could still be stashed.
  7. The only thing holding the Texans back from being true Super Bowl contenders is Davis Mills. If something happens to CJ, they're screwed. If only both teams had the miracle man himself, Aidan O'Connell. Put your smart money on the Raiders folks! They've got a competitive QB room unlike the Texans and Panthers. But hey, maybe those Texans fans can get that QB3 they've needed to get them to the conference championship. That's all the Panthers need to get them to the postseason, apparently.
  8. I'm curious to see what they do with the TE room. Tremble/Sanders seem like locks, but then who makes it between Evans/Mitchell? I went back and watched all of Evans' snaps from the preseason and he did not look good imo. I thought that he looked slow, didn't block as well as you'd hope a Notre Dame TE to, and didn't look like he was providing much to the passing game. James Mitchell looked better blocking (though Okwara did march him back vs. CLE) and catching.
  9. I'm eagerly waiting to see if he hits the waiver wire. Would provide some more potential upside to the current LB room. It really wasn't that bad going into the offseason. Wallace/Jewell/Rozeboom/Cherelus/Rhattigan gave us a youngster/vet duo with three ST/back-up guys. Losing Jewell before things even kicked off though was a shot I don't think anybody saw coming. It reduced the room to a young guy + four special teamers.
  10. Courtesy of Mike Kaye, teams in front of the Panthers on the waiver wire: 1. Tennessee Titans 2. Cleveland Browns 3. New York Giants 4. New England Patriots 5. Jacksonville Jaguars 6. Las Vegas Raiders 7. New York Jets Also mentions watching out to see if the Panthers designate anybody as IR-DTR like they did with Crumedy last season which effectively redshirted him for 12 weeks to learn behind the scenes. Jared Feinberg mentioned that we may hear a few Panthers cuts today and to expect to hear the majority of them tomorrow afternoon.
  11. JJ Jansen not being on this list proves that it is shite.
  12. Lots of names being added to the cuts. Some names that pop to me for one reason or another (not that the Panthers should sign them, just that they stood out to me)... QB Tyler Huntley (CLE) QB Adrian Martinez (NYJ) QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (PHI) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Zach Pascal (NYG) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) TE Matt Sokol (BUF) TE Jaheim Bell (NE) TE Tre' McKitty (HOU) C Jim Morrissey (NYG) DL Morgan Fox (ATL) ILB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) OLB Kenny Willekes (PIT) OLB Cam Gill (MIN) CB Zy Alexander (BUF) CB O'Dell Fortune (NYG) CB Dicaprio Bootle (DET) CB Lamar Jackson (ATL) S K'Von Wallace (NYG) S Shiloh Sanders (TB) DB Lewis Cline (PHI) DB Major Burns (CHI) DB Josh Thompson (ATL) K Caden Davis (PIT) A few former Panthers' on that list (Fox, Hudson, Gill, Bootle, Jackson).
  13. That's exactly what I've been wondering... Do you march out Cousins, who does not perform well behind porous OLs (to be fair, most QBs don't) OR do you send Penix Jr out there and hope for him to not get the poo kicked out of him? Not an ideal situation for them to be in.
  14. How can Houston be going into the season with that being the state of their QB room? Without an elite QB2 their Superb Owl chances are shot.
  15. Hope everything with the family is ok!
  16. Texans gotta replace Mills to shore up that QB room. What will they do if Stroud goes down?
  17. Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
  18. I know that there's been some water tossed on the fire, but I do hope that both teams are exploring the move still. On one hand, it would suck for Bryce to lose his most trusted WR and a super solid veteran for the young guys to learn better technique from. On the other, if Hunter Renfrow is good to go, he can take that slot spot over and read defenses with Bryce like AT does. Hunter was a high school QB iirc, so he'd be a reliable safety net in the slot. Getting compensation for a 35yr old WR on the last year of his deal and having minimal drop off in production (while also giving more reps to the two first round picks) during a year that seems to be universally understood as the "Is Bryce for real?" season seems like a great move imo, especially if it allows the team to keep everyone else.
  19. There are definitely people in the Panthers front office that play fantasy football and cannot wait for Lathan Ransom to de-cleat Kyle Pitts every play for his lack of production.
  20. Cannot wait to see what Princely does as a pass rush specialist this season.
  21. How in the world are folks not getting open because of Bryce when he was sacked for what was then the 2nd most times a rookie QB had been sacked (until Caleb Williams)? He got sacked 50+ times behind a 6th and 7th string guard duo. Dalton played one good game against the RAIDERS? The same Andy Dalton that people are ready to take out behind the barn and put down so that they can have a UDFA QB in the room that won't be on a roster next season? I get that Aidan O'Connell is some Huddlers' favorite QB, but Jesus... Again: What is the acceptable floor for a rookie QB with 6th & 7th string starting guards, a group of weapons where the only player getting open is 33yrs old, and the coaching staff switched the offense up three times in their first year? Why is it that I keep getting excuses instead of numbers in response to that?
