  1. Need to retain or sign as much talent as we can while we are not paying a massive portion of our cap to the QB position. Darnold will be off the books next season and I’m sure we’ll be working with a rookie QB. I’m sure Fitt will look to follow the Seattle model and fill the team with as much talent as possible while you have your QB on a rookie contract. The Bills have one year left before Allen’s contract balloons into triple the cap hit. The Chiefs got their Super Bowl win before Mahomes cap hit took over. The Bengals are in the middle of their window. You need to do as much as you can to try and win while not having to pay your QB.
  2. I’m not saying Burns is on the level that Khalil Mack was but at the time of the trade they’re both young pro bowl pass rushers who are due up for significant contract extensions. Mack held out not wanting to play under the 5th year option and wanted to be the highest paid defensive player in the league. Raiders didn’t want to cripple their cap space after just signing Derek Carr to a large extension. Burns still has another year before the Panthers have to decide on his 5th year option and inflated cap hit. They also don’t have to worry about a massive QB salary and will probably be working with a Rookie QB contract the next few years. That will give the Panthers the ability to try and build a winning team without worrying about having a quarter of their cap space tied up in the QB position. This is why I wouldn’t worry about re-signing Burns. Panthers need to surround a new QB with as much talent as possible in that 4 year rookie contract window. I’m sure that is what Fitts in thinking being that he came from Seattle.
  3. So does this Super Bowl make Stafford a HoF QB now?
  4. I know it’s just a quick video clip but am I crazy or does he look to have lost some mass in his legs? I mean it would make sense since he hasn’t been able to put pressure on his broken foot in a few months. Either way glad to see him back on two feet.
  5. Everyone thought the 49ers made that trade for Mac Jones. I don’t think he was that much better of a prospect than Pickett. As far as Willis and Lance, if Willis was the same size as Lance I think he would be the top QB in this class. Lance had one good year of CFB and the 49ers still gave up the farm for him. Like I said if a team falls in love with one of these QBs we should do what ever we can to get a trade done.
  6. Ransom our pick to a team who falls in love with one of the top QBs and trade down. If Sanfran was willing to give up 3 first rounders to move up to take Trey Lance I’m sure someone will make a similar trade if a guy like Pickett or Willis fall to us. Recoup some of the picks we lost and an extra first and go all in on the offensive line. Roll with Sam and Cam again and see how they perform behind an upgraded line. Hopefully Rhule still gets fired and let the new a coaching staff draft a QB next year.
  7. I hope the saints do hire his ass. At least we will know their offense will suck. I mean it’s probably going to suck regardless of who they hire.
  8. Yeah I was going to say, with Matt Rhule’s ego, something like that is never going to happen.
  9. No go out and sign DJ Augustin to replace Ish and we’ll be looking good. Edit: Deandre Bembry is probably worth looking into as well.
  10. Hell no. Those look like a bunch of Rich Cho panic trades. We come out as losers in every one of those deals. They only way Mitch is making a move is if it nets us a starting center. PJ, Nick or Vern (Maybe McDaniels but we need him if we move PJ) a protected future first and a second for a guy like Jusuf Nurkic, (only if we plan to extend him) Christian Wood, or Richaun Holmes are the kind of deals Mitch should be after. No way I'm giving up Bouknight half a year into his rookie season. If a trade doesn't happen we can sign a guy like Mitchell Robinson or Nurkic in free agency without having to give up any assets. We have control of Lamelo for 3 more years after this season. No need to fug up and do something stupid at the deadline because you think he's going to leave. We're on the right track. Mitch just needs to continue to do what he's been doing. Our future is bright.
  11. I keep getting Jimmy Pickles flash backs reading all of this stuff about Kenny Pickett. Their scout evaluations are so damn similar and that’s without even getting into the small hands business. I can’t recall though why Clausen fell. Almost every draft expert thought he was a sure-fire franchise QB. Only a tad behind Sam Bradford and a lock to be a top 10 pick. What happened?
  12. This is one of the best Free Agencies for offensive lineman in years. Basically all of the best offensive linemen from the past 4 or five years are all due up for their second and probably last big contracts. Cant wait for Matt Rhule to screw the pooch.
  13. This team has a serious case of the yips. No one has been able to shoot and it’s looking like a 5 game losing streak because of it.
  14. @SizzleBuzzsorry didn’t realize you were the lead journalist on the Panthers sale. Also I never brought up anyones background so don’t know why that was brought up. I can only use sources that reported on the sales which is why I quoted articles that covered it. I’m not the one coming up with these statements. I have no idea who is ownership group would have been nor do I know whether he had the 30% to buy the team. I can only go with what was reported. Everything you stated is pure speculation.
  15. Which is exactly why I said the poo is fixed/rigged.
  16. Pro sports are so blatantly rigged it’s not even funny. No one is that fuging bad at their job and still employed.
  17. “According to a source, it became clear to Navarro over the past two days that "the process was not moving in his favor." "Therefore, there's a reality he's out of the process," the source added.” “Tepper made a bid and flew to Charlotte on Wednesday and the NFL had the deal done by Friday with the announcement to come that Tepper was the new owner expected Monday.” Navarro had been dealing with JR for 2 weeks and Tepper came in and the NFL had the deal done in 2 fuging days. Give me a break.
  18. The team was estimated by Forbes to be worth 2.3 billion. JR wanted more and was in negotiations with Navarro. Sale would have been much less than 2.8. You always start high with any sale and then negotiate down until you meet on a price. Buyer only has to put up 30% for the final sale price but the other owners have to vote on and approve the sale. Navarro already had investors and and ownership group in place and was ready to increase his bid once Tepper made his offer. He wasn’t able to though because once Tepper made his bid the NFL fast tracked the sale. Something they did not attempt to do for Navarro.
  19. You can thank Goodell and the NFL for that. JR did not want to sell to Tepper but the NFL didn’t give him any other choice. From what I remember, JR wanted to sell to Ben Navarro for something like 2.8 Billion but the NFL said no and forced him to sell to Tepper for around 2.3 billion. Jerry kept that shield at midfield for his entire time as an owner and in the end the league fuged him. And to think Dan Snyder is still an owner L O L. fug the NFL.
  20. The teams early success could have continued to an extent if this coaching staff had any idea what adjustments are. Once there was enough game film on this Panthers team everything fell apart. The offense scored what, like 2 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter all season? Opposing defenses knew our routes and plays better than the offense did. 75% of this teams issues stem from coaching or the lack there of. Defensively, Snow needs to ditch the college hybrid bullshit and come up with a real NFL defensive scheme. (A true 3-4 would fit this current roster best imo) Also idk why people are so hung up on losing Dan Arnold. The guy is below average at best and can’t block. He had under 500 yards and zero TDs this season. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have a reliable pass catching tight end, but Arnold wasn’t it.
  21. I have a feeling Jimmy G will end up on the Saints. I know Payton is gone but if they keep the same style of offense he could do really well there. They’d win the division easily.
  22. I don't want Watson unless his legal issues are legitimately settled. If the Panthers did end up trading lets say 3 first round picks, we have a roster ready to compete right now if the offensive line is upgraded and we re-sign some of our own free agents. The Panthers would have to work some cap magic but the loss of picks wouldn't hurt the team that badly with a QB on the roster of Watson's caliber, especially with how weak the NFCS is.
  23. The way the NFL has implemented the Romney Rules causes more harm than good. It just gives the NFL the ability to put out some positive PR. No one is going to tell a bunch of billionaires how to run their businesses unless they do something that could bring in legal troubles like what happened with JR. Dan Snyder is still an owner ffs.
  24. While I completely understand the Rooney Rule and it’s purpose, the NFLs implementation and use of it is a joke. It’s nothing more than some PR fluff and like others have stated, just another box to be checked by the owners before they hire who ever the hell they want. It honestly probably causes more harm than good for reasons like this. Unfortunately, the majority of owners are are bunch of 50+ year old white billionaires who grew up in a time when racism ran rampant throughout this country. I’m sure these owners just like any other major business owner will say no one is going to tell them how to run their business. That’s capitalism and money = power.
