  1. Doug Pederson also won a SB and has the Jags in the divisional round of the playoffs.
  2. I mean to be fair how many Super Bowl HCs end up leaving the team they won with and head coaching somewhere else? Andy Reid made it to a Super Bowl with Philly and won with KC. Would it have made a difference for KC's chances if he won in Philly? Not arguing for Sean Payton, but I feel like the list of guys who "didn't" do it is awfully short.
  3. I don't expect some huge bidding war for Sean Payton. He's 59 years old and what assurances does a team have that he is in it for the long-run? I think teams have it set in their mind what they are willing to give up, so I don't think this raises or lowers the asking price for him. I agree with this. I might be a little uneasy but that's it. Ensuring you get a top 5 (at worst top 10) head coach would be worth it. However preferably I'd rather give up multiple 2nds. But we'll see. I really really really don't think we get him and honestly I'd much rather have someone like Ben Johnson or Steichen, but I'm no fool. Sean Payton is a proven HC. So definitely good on us for doing our due diligence.
  4. Longest first half of all time
  5. I wonder what the Panthers would be willing to give up. That would decide how interested I am in Sean Payton.
  6. He's probably just implying that Manuel would be a potential option of DC for Ben Johnson. So that is why we are interviewing him. At least that is how I take it.
  7. Look, I'm not saying the Panthers should give up the farm for a guy who you will need to sign to a long-term deal. But we owe it to the team to at least call the Ravens after their season comes to an end tonight and see what's up.
  8. You never know, that was like 25 years ago. Wouldn't be the first coordinator to go back to his former team. Not that I expect it to happen, but it would be awesome. I'm sure he'll be a DC again. Maybe he goes with Sean Payton, but if he doesn't? There aren't a whole lot of teams looking for a DC. Wouldn't hurt to inquire.
  9. Imagine CarolinaHuddle if a thread pops up next Tuesday... "Panthers are interviewing Vic Fangio for a coordinator position"
  10. Doesn't matter. Yes, Lawrence could have played better in the first half. But what does a franchise guy do? They put it behind them, step up, and put up points for their team. Lawrence contributed to the disaster, but he fixed it. Panthers don't have a guy who can repair a disaster. Panthers need to get that guy, unless the plan is to build a crazy stacked roster ala 49ers.
  11. No it isn't. Spanos is legit a horrible horrible horrible owner BEYOND just football. Maybe, maybe Tepper gets there one day. But you can't match the Spanos' terribleness in 5 years.
  12. Staff will have a list for the HC to choose from if they don't have their own guy. For example, Ben Johnson is 36 years old and while he's been in the NFL since 2012, he doesn't have a strong list of DC options he has ties too. He worked with Vance Joseph for one season, but looks like Joseph could be staying in Arizona. So front office would likely give him (or anyone ie Steichen, Wilks, etc) a list of candidates they like.
  13. Ben Johnson is the real deal. Detroit offense was a pleasure to watch and it wasn't just talent making plays. His ability to scheme guys open and establish a creative running game was great. I think DJ Moore would play the St. Brown role in this offense. Time to hop on the train my man
  14. Jags don't make that comeback without a franchise QB Which is why the Panthers need to stop waiting for the perfect QB and just simply get one who can make those kind of plays.
  15. Trevor Lawrence is the real deal.
  16. I get what you are saying... but Seahawks and Bucs definitely aren't "very good". Seahawks regressed hard in the second half of the season and barely got by the Rams last week, and Bucs suck. The lore of Tom Brady is the only reason people think they have a chance (and I will admit... it is a good reason, Brady is the GOAT). But LIS, I get what you are saying and I agree. We can't take those wins away from Wilks.
  17. NFL version of Georgia with Stetson Bennet... no disrespect to Bennett. Just an absolute loaded team that is damn near idiot-proof when it comes to the QB. You'd have to be really really bad to fail with this offense. With that said, Seahawks defense sucks. I don't think Purdy is going to get away playing like this against Dallas or Philly. Two defenses with great pass rushes who will force turnovers in the secondary.
  18. Absolutely destroyed his blocker though and forced Geno to step up
  19. DK Metcalf is a monster lol
  20. Respect for him if he returns to Ohio State to win the national championship. And if that is what he wants to do, he should 100% do it. But I really really really hope he thinks it through. You never know what can happen. And while I do think since he plays QB, an injury wouldn't hurt him as much as it would others at another position (Tua still went top 5)... you never know.
