The best thing about this is how they respond to Bozeman's play when the defense is on the bench. Also--even if Shaq doesn't come back, he's shown growth as a leader. You can see it, has been nice to have him most of the time. Really funny moment with Barno towards the end.

We've also seen the guys who were selected along with him in the 3rd play this year and it's been UGLY. Willis is set for success with the most consistent run game helping him out and good enough WRs. He looks abysmal. Started 3 full games and hasn't thrown for over 150 yards in any. Floating around 50% completion. He looks just downright bad, regardless of how much development he needs. Ridder stuck in it and made some decent throws late last week but otherwise struggled mightily. A 3rd rounder should not be relied on in the slightest. Bugs me people keep wanting to just test him out next year and skip this class. It may be thinned out, but it's not impossible some of these guys turn into something. Need to keep throwing darts.

I think you're right with Tune being the one guy who could move up in tiers this offseason. I can also see Jaren Hall maybe rise a bit in the offseason, although he's a shorty. But it's so true, this class really did thin out. Even with some of the fringe Day 1-2 guys like Daniels, Penix, Ward going back. I'm seeing 4 1st rounders if we're lucky, McKee & Tune somewhere between Late 2nd-3rd at best, and then the rest. Tier 1A: Young Tier 1B: Stroud, Levis, Richardson Tier 2: McKee Tier 3: Tune, Haener, Jaren Hall, O'Connell, Duggan, Hooker Tier 4: R7/UDFA Turned out to be slim pickings.

This. Levis may be perceived by casuals as down but teams still have an eye on his ability (even if he doesn't use it effectively yet). Kentucky's line was also AWFUL so there's some excuses to throw out there. He will likely only rise from here on out during shorts season. He'll get to show off his arm, release, whole shtick.

Levis is a guy who seems to have all the tools, yet doesn't seem to use any of them when actually he plays the game. Just a huge red flag. One of the most frustrating prospects I've seen in some time.

I like Rising as a player. Tough as nails, stepped up in big games, good improviser. But that is a friendly offense he's in, and as a prospect, the arm talent just isn't there to operate efficiently in an NFL pocket. The ball just doesn't move with good velocity off his throws and it's going to be an issue. Similar issue I have with Duggan. Has had a spectacular college football season, but the traits as a passer just don't translate. They have been the perfect guys for those college squads, but it's a big gamble with them come big leagues. I'd have Jaren Hall over them in that mid to late round tier.

Between the whole OOU ("one of us") thing and this report, I think the most definitive takeaway as an outsider is that Rhule was out of his depth & clearly stubborn about it. Drew a line in the sand for who would be his yes men. That will naturally divide a locker room. Older guys knew he was out of his depth and rather than Rhule owning what he could learn and growing bonds with them, he distanced, found his guys who wouldn't question him, and made it awkward. The vet referenced clearly was Gilmore (at a minimum). I can see many older vets who probably tried to tell him how certain things are done at this level and Rhule completely ignored them. Not taking their experience and recommendations into consideration. It seems that they were isolated and it was a really awkward & divided locker room. Weird tension, maybe no outward spats, but just a lack of accountability as Rhule didn't seem to know how to react with 5+ year vet type guys, like at all. There is something awesome to how much guys like Luke and Greg want to stay a part of this organization. Yet, I think it's true they did seem to step back during peak Rhule. Even generally speaking, organization wise, it is freaking awesome Gross, Delhomme, Olsen, & Luke are such cogs in our franchise. They want to stay around which is helping build some great culture & legacy. Let's get a guy who will embrace that.

This article seems to be a rehash of one from early season. So even if it was true around week 1-3, his opinion may very much differ at this point. But that's if it even holds water in the first place.

Man it is crazy. It's been 4 years since we were even thinking playoffs last. Nov 8th 2018, we're a red hot 6-2 the morning before the ill-fated Steelers game. Cam & Luke blazing, leading the charge. Rhule: 39 games, 11 wins Wilks: 10 games, 5 wins Wilks also matched Rhule's best season in like 9 games lol. It did not take much to find better than Rhule. IF we bring Wilks full-time, he needs to have a clear vision for this offense. Needs to get to that next level with how strong the OL appears to be.

Between Darrisaw (another awesome LT we passed on), Hock, and Jefferson, they have great young talent. Nearing the end of a Cook’s window, but they can definitely make the SB in the current NFC environment. Defense is strong enough.

I agree. Is Russ a particular type of QB that can only work in certain environments? yes. And does he deserve some blame? yes. But then as a HC, it's part of your job to identify that and develop an offense and team that works with that QB. ESPECIALLY given the investment. Hackett was so bad, it's not even funny.

If we win out, I really hope Tepper & Fit don't think it means run this all back, and I doubt they do. We've got to get better, you don't ride on past accomplishments, have to keep building. They don't strike me as going into 2023 content with this entire staff after Wilks has basically stumbled into the remnants. Ran into the cockpit and figured out a decent landing with who was already on board. I'd definitely consider him for HC but would basically mandate if he did to interview and pitch his vision for this team & offense. Need to be ahead of things, I would hate to walk into the offseason content with our squad because we hung onto things in a flailing division. I haven't unseen the Bengals, Ravens, & Steelers games. Those were Wilks-McAdoo ones as much as this Lions win was. We need better than an offense entirely reliant on a running game. Balanced juggernaut approach where either running or pass can win the game.

And there goes arguably one of the worst coaches in NFL history from a pure football standpoint.

If we do end up with Wilks, we absolutely, 100%, need to go all out to find a legit offensive mind to manage that entire side of things. We need a new offensive architecture that works with the OL we've built. Super critical. Game planning, play calling, knows the type of skill players they want and the QB type they need.

Who? Some said he played better early this year, and better being relative as in didn't suck. That's about the best compliments I've ever seen about him. Also, weird comment in general. He didn't call protections and was a very poor communicator with his fellow linemen.
