  1. Eventually Bryce is going to shine. He's a great athlete and competitor with a lot of heart and moxy. I think he's going to be a really good NFL QB. I also think he's a real classy kid. There are definitely NFL teams that lack a QB but Carolina isn't one of them. A lot of those teams would kill to have Bryce Young.
  2. I doubt that Carolina picked Bryce over CJ because of any S2 scores, real or imagined. The knock on CJ, and it was a fair one, was that he struggled under pressure whereas Bryce shone under it. Of course, game tapes tell the better story and CJ sliced and diced a great Georgia defense and so I doubt that Carolina overlooked that, they just went with the guy that they felt was better - and they may be proven correct. As for character issues, there wasn't a wiff of any "character" issues with CJ at Ohio State. Not a peep.
  3. Your claim that Carolina passed on Stroud because he came from Ohio State is what is laughable. Carolina picked Young because they felt he was the better pick. It had nothing to do with which school Stroud had played. There are a lot of quality posters on this site. Try to be like them.
  4. Stroud impressed at the combine in Indy. Young didn't participate. Immediately after the combine Carolina traded for the #1 pick. I was certain that Carolina would take Stroud. Did they want Stroud but then later changed their minds? In any event, Young is a baller and I think he's going to be really good. Whatever issues Carolina has have nothing to do with Young. I think Young has played as well as can be expected and I think he's looked fine. This isn't a one-year fix for Carolina or, for that matter, Houston, or Indianapolis. I think the young QB's will be as good as management allows them to be through the draft and free agency. It's too bad Young wasn't available against Seattle because I think Carolina showed a lot of heart and toughness. I think Young would have been the difference.
  5. Houston already planned on picking Dell. They simply asked CJ his opinion of Dell and CJ told them he liked Dell a lot.
  6. I was both disappointed and surprised when Carolina took Young instead of Stroud, although I like Young's game and I think he's going to do well. I always felt that Stroud's ceiling is higher.
  7. Stroud faces his biggest test thus far at Jacksonville next week. I think Houston is getting blown out.
  8. They're missing like 4 OL starters. They're down to third string at a couple of spots. They're probably going to get CJ killed, maybe next week at Jacksonville.
  9. I don't disagree. On another note, that's the risk of using the QB as a running back. Sooner or later they get carted off the field.
  10. Houston's defense has been disappointing. They're going to need a couple more drafts to be a good team.
  11. I love Mayer's game! In three years at Notre Dame he never once turned the ball over, either, despite 180 receptions. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4429086/michael-mayer
  12. ...and It will be fun watching him and the rest of the "QB quartet" play this season. I was hoping you guys would take my boy, CJ, but Carolina rightly went with the guy they thought was best. Good luck the rest of the way and I'll be rooting for Bryce and Carolina's success this year, both on the field and in life. God bless all!
  13. One thing is certain. It's going to be interesting and fascinating to watch the top 4 (and maybe more) QB picks of the draft play this year.
  14. The only way Stroud could have saved Ohio State's abortion of a defensive effort in the Michigan game was if he played safety in addition to playing QB. With that said, Ohio State did only manage to score 3 points in the second half.
  15. Bryce can keep a play alive but, ultimately, I think you want the guy that consistently provides elite ball placement by hitting receivers in stride or dropping the ball in places where only the receiver has a shot at the ball. CJ Stroud is that guy. I personally will be SHOCKED if you do NOT take Stroud. On another note, a Yahoo guy has Young, Richardson, and Levis going 1,2, & 3. Lol. That guy is on acid.
  16. Sorry gents. Who are your 5 best players right now. Please provide full name and position.
  17. If you like elite ball placement, you'll love Stroud. I think both Stroud and Young will be successful but if it's third-and-long and you need a perfect pass, I'm taking Stroud.
  18. I grew up in Columbus and became a rabid Ohio State fan. But while my friends were rooting for Cleveland and Cincinnati in the NFL, I just didn't feel it. Now I'm 56 and still don't have a team. I like the NFL but I just couldn't pick a team and then say "Ok, they're my team!". For whatever reason, Justin Fields going to Chicago didn't do it for me either. But CJ Stroud going to Carolina would definitely get me onboard the bandwagon! Otherwise I can just buy a Patrick Mahomes jersey and claim to be a lifelong Chief's fan.
